Fish is good too....

Baked Carp
1 Carp, gutted and skinned
1 pine board a little bigger that the carp
Clean em both real good

Marinade (soak) the carp for a day in a mixture
of red wine (or Nite Train), Old Bay, lemon, salt,
pepper, garlic salt and water (amts. to your taste).
Soak the board for a day in water.
Put the fish on the board and bake at 300 for 3 hrs.

Remove from oven, cool 1 hr., discard fish, eat board.
Serves 1 to 4 ..depends on size of the board.

Warren,

Sweetheart is doing much better and is up and walking around now. No more sickness and she seems to want to play at times but that nerve in her back keeps her from jumping and running and I would just as soon she didn't do that for quite a while as it was pretty bad per the X-Ray.
I did get some medicine for her that my vet ordered from Road Runner Labs in Phoenix and there was supposed to be 30 ML in the bottle and there is only about 23, so I will call them today and ask why they shorted me. At least it doesn't taste bad.

Ron :)

wtm442 03-05-2009 04:14 AM

I'm glad Sweetheart is feeling better. You been nipping on her meds?

Have to get out the sunblock. Not a cloud in the sky. Temp just whizzed past 8°F, heading for 30°F today.

Anyone watch the Hudson River plane crash show on the Discovery Channel last night? Good show. I'm sure they will rerun it a few dozen times over the next 6 months if you missed it.

Ron61 03-05-2009 05:26 AM

No I missed that but I did enjoy the pictures of them hauling it through town that you sent. I hope they do show it over a few times. Maybe I will be able to catch it.
Yes, I taste the dogs medicine. Tastes better than mine by far. The barking is making my throat sore though.

Ron

Carp is one of the best fish to fish for...using a bow.

Early in the morning, about 5:30 am, you go to the shore with waders on. The carp come close to the shore to eat the poop and junk that washed up in the night.

You can see their fins break the water as they approach. That's when you draw to shoot. Once they turn, you release and then pull the fish in.

I like to leave the fish on the shore for the cats and varmints.

Great fun.

:D :D :D

You are a heinous madman. Just wait until the Fish version of PETA sees this. And by the way, Pelosi is going to send her storm troopers to seize your bow.

Here is a nice Texas dish... Real easy to find all the dillos you want without even havin' to get out of your car.

Some call them Texas Speed Bumps.

ARMADILLO AND RICE

1 armadillo, dressed and cleaned
4 large onions
1 stalk celery
2 cans chopped mushrooms
2 cups rice, uncooked
Salt and pepper to taste
10 cups armadillo broth

Boil armadillo until tender; reserve broth. Remove meat from bones. Cut onions and celery and cook in butter until tender. Add mushrooms and meat and simmer for 5 minutes. Put in a large baking pan or dutch oven and add 10 cups of hot broth; add rice, salt and pepper; stir. Place in 375 degrees F. oven and cook until tender. Serves 12.

:3DSMILE:

Fred,

That would make a good snack for Warren. Maybe you should have the Ho Sisters take him some.

Ron

Steve,

I saw it but never paid much attention to it as there is so much of that going on now. And the SEC can't get enough kickback from these smaller schemes to let them slide like they did the big ones. If the SEC had did their job, those that ran into the billions would never have gotten by.

Ron ;)

TGIF. At least another day or so that we don't have to see some business is going bankrupt or that GM wants even more money to stay in business. What happened to the first big bunch they got? It sure didn't seem to go into anything to do with helping the business. Three more smaller businesses in this area have closed down and that is about it for small business here. All that is left is the large co-operations and I am not sure some of them are going to make it through the year. I did not vote for Obama and I don't care for his awarding his friends with high paying jobs to do nothing, but every politician does that. I hope for the sake of the country he has some advisers, not Queen Pelosi, Boxer, and Fienstien who actually can help him turn things around before it is to late. This area is really turning into a depressed area and crime is going out of sight. And the really bad thing is up here there is very little chance of attracting anything worthwhile even when the economy does start to turn toward the better. Just nothing to do as the logging is all but a thing of the past.

Ron :(

That is ok warren. Once GM gets their next $100 Billion bailout package they can get their stock back above the $2.09 it was yesterday when I looked. I still wonder what happened to the first big pile of money they gave to them. To many million dollar vacations for overworked CEOs and their families I guess.

Ron
