My neighbor works for a body shop and I had him look at it last night. He found even more damage and thinks the frame rails may be damaged as well. The entire bumper reinforcement is bent so it looks like the ends of the frame rails is bent also.

Fred the Police couldn't be bothered to come out. I guess in the huge metropolis of Murphy there was too much going on for them so no police report. I am forced to hope he is at least honest.

Well car is at the body shop, rental is reserved by the insurance company. He was honest and told his insurance company that He backed into me. In one way it is really sad, that I am at least happy that he was honest. Too bad we could not have more people who are honest and accept responsibility for their actions. Even when they cause completely unintentional consequences.

Joe,

Unfortunately we live in a "I am not to blame world today." I saw a woman back into a car in a parking lot some time back and break a headlight and bend the fender some, and she got out and looked at it and was talking on her cell phone to someone and told them she was just going to leave as it hadn't hurt her vehicle much and no one saw her. Then she turned around and saw me writing her license plate number down and a description of her car. Boy, did that end the phone conversation in a hurry. She was mad at me and said I wasn't a cop and couldn't take her license number down. I never said a word and finished what I was writing and then she started about how her husband would kill her for doing that. I just replied that she didn't need to worry about her husband as the owner of the vehicle she had hit would most likely do that and I had included in the note that she was talking on the phone and not looking and that is illegal also. At least the owner of that vehicle now knows who did it. They are still looking for whoever ran over and killed a man in one of the parking lots a few weeks ago.

Ron, is that hurricane heading your way?

Well, I have labored for four days to put the truck back together.

Now I know why I paid someone to paint the cobra.

The farm truck is better than is has been for the past four years.

Harvesting Apples today. We will get about 100 pounds.

Ron,
That song was so over the top, outragous and disgusting,I sent it to my Dad & Son.Among others.

I got emails back from everyone that seem to agree with my first opinion.

Tru,

I spent all afternoon yesterday out in the yard watching the borate bombers and helicopters flying over the house at about 75'. They had a fire just across the freeway that looked as if stretched all the way from Enterprise clear out here. And not a word on the local news about it. They finally got it under control just as it was getting dark. This area is like a powder keg and just ready to blow up. The day before some fool was cutting bolts in an area of high dry grass and of course the sparks from the electric grinder started a fire which burned one unoccupied house and several acres.

Fred,

Glad that you liked the Country Music. It had to be Texas style.

been busy the last few days. On top of the car issues, I had a last minute trip to Fontana CA, so I am here and about to head in to begin my day.

Joe,

At least you missed the fires I think. There ares many small ones scattered out right now that it is hard to keep up with them. They got the one here stopped but it got into the edge of town on two sides. No homes burned, but one slightly damaged. At least I live more in the center of town and have a much better chance of escaping the fires than those on the outer limits. And I keep my whole place as bare as I can during the Summer. So there is nothing to burn close to my house except other houses.

So, now Joe, is it a truck you got back into? I know the other guys had a truck, but did you?

As I said, I spent four days gluing my truck back together, it really sucks.

What are you going to do?

Ron, you need to stay out of those fumes. Dang, with all that junk in the air, you must be cleaning filters as a daily chore.

Tru,

I am staying inside as much as possible. Right now the smoke is mostly gone but you can still smell it. I have been working on the new shed and almost have it ready to move the garden stuff into. A couple of more days and I think it will be ready. I want to get one of the small 5 gallon portable air compressors from Sears tom have in it ass that will take care of my garden stuff and I can leave the larger one down in the garage where I will have it for the cars.

My neighbor finally got back from Canada after his 3 month fishing trip. He said they may go to Germany soon but wasn't sure.

Tru,
A 3/4 ton truck backed into my Mustang. We also have an 07 F150 Super Crew, but we were in the Mustang.

Ron,
There was a fire burning on a ridge east of Fontana that I saw while we were decending on the landing approach to Ontario. The air here smells of smoke pretty heavily, but does seem to be lessening.

Tru,

I will try to take a couple of pictures of the new shed when I get it finished. It isn't finished inside as I don't see any reason to spend the money just to finish the inside walls.

Fred,

The thistle is very scattered and most of the lot is just red dust it has been so hot. But it makes a good firebreak.

Joe,

The fires down there are worse now and two fire fighters were killed when their truck went off the small mountain road and wound up in the bottom of the canyon. The fire roads they cut are just wide enough for a truck or dozer to make it up and there is no margin for error. Our last fire from two days ago is now out but they won't say what started it. And it did get into the very edge of town.

So, is the shed up next to the thistle?

We will be looking for a new truck next year. The one I put back together has cancer and will be challenged to survive two or three more years.

Dang Joe, that is a shame. Are you going to let a shop fix that up?

Fred, Ron is saving all of the thistle for you, but you have to go and get it.

Guys, went down to 42 last night.

Tru,

Sounds as if your weather is starting to cool off. We have had a couple of nights in the 50s but then it goes right back up. I think our really hot weather is over for the most part though.

The shed covers one patch of the thistle in the upper driveway. It is nothing fancy, just a wooden 10' X 12' shed so I can have a place for the tractor and trailer and a couple of other lawn things. That will also give me a little more space in the 8' X 10' shed that I have behind it on the old garage slab.

Did you go to the country music link and listen to Fred singing to Frenchy?

Finally it is done. I finished the little I was going to do in the shed and moved the tractor and trailer and a garden cart I have into it. Now I have room in my garage for a car if I had one. Next, clean the back porch of the left over junk that I have piled there for years.

Good morning everyone. It is now Wednesday and I have my shed pretty much finished. Put the tractor and the rest of the stuff in it yesterday afternoon and now I have a couple of stumps that I need to get to work on. It is cooling off here and that makes it a lot better to be outside.
Everyone have a great day.
