Mike,

I haven't heard any of our garbage truck drivers talking about that. But when they first started smog testing cars it was two years before they started it up here. So it will no doubt be here soon. But until they can get the rest of the world to start cleaning up their stuff they spew into the air we can't possible clean the whole atmosphere for them. I think here it is more about the money than any concern for the air quality.

Fred,

Sounds as if it would be fun if you could find one of those older bikes. That is a long trip for such a small motorcycle.

Dang, I am bushed.

Hung new barn doors - there's four hours in 90 degrees.

Change diff fluid on two trucks - in 88 degrees.

I am a little worn out from the heat.

Other than that, hey there!

At least you got something accomplished. All I have done during this heat here is stay inside as much as possible.

I'd be willing to bet that if you put an ad on Craigslist that you are willing to pay $200 for a scoot that is at least 35 years old, your driveway would fill up pretty quick.

It could take awhile to make that trip but hey you're retired.

Wow, four days of nice weather with it not getting over 100°. In fact when it dropped from the 110 to the high 60s I was cold that morning. But we have some very hot weather ahead according to the weather people. And the lake being nearly full has really contributed to the humidity around here.

Tru,

At least you have a Cobra to drive. As for the bugs, I can sure relate to that. Mine was white and I swear I couldn't drive it a block without a bunch of bugs committing suicide on it and the windshield.

Mike,

We are having a kind of weird Summer. A week or so of hot, humid weather and a week of dropping into the 60s at night. Supposed to be back in the 110 + range next week. Kind of hard to adjust to.

We are having the same here Ron. A few days of highs in the upper 80s to 90s, then over 100 again for a few days, then back down, and now back up.

Joe,

This has been the strangest Summer I can remember around here. Now we are back into the upper 90s for a few days if the forecast is correct. Myself, I prefer this to the 110+ and humidity. And so far no major fires. A lot of small ones set by lightning in the mountains and some homes burned.

I saw 114° yesterday. AC in the Mustang never actually got cold on the way home. It was much much cooler than outside, but it was still hot in the car. I was sweating all the way home. Yesterday morning at 7 AM it was still 90°.

I saw 107* yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today. Temp says 102* right now.

I am soooooo glad I raised the insulation to R-60 in this house. I am also glad I did it last week. Whew it is hot outside.

I also saw that at 10:40 it was still 99* last night.
