Well it is just light enough to see now and I don't see any Mustang. I do see some pieces of roof shingles that probably came from my neighbors house as he has some places where the felt is showing. Man, we need a break from this weather, especially the wind.

That is some vicious winds Ron. Much worse and you will have to start watching for Tornadoes.

Joe,
That is exactly what the sky looked like just before the big thunderstorm. Very quite and strange color and you could feel the electricity in the air. We have only had one small tornado that I know of up here and it never did any damage. But I have been in the plains states and gotten caught in a couple and they are not fun.

Assuming the weather forecast is correct, which is really a big leap of faith, I will stay inside and watch it rain some more. They also say strong winds Thursday. After what we just had I really wonder what they mean by STRONG. I am more than ready for a break from this weather.

Not a whole lot planned. I could use a relaxing one if God has one in store for me. Other wise I will probably be up at the church working again. We are trying to move into our new (new to us) building and getting the COO from the city is proving more difficult than expected.

We will do a little work in the yard and visit with some neighbors for awhile.
The Texas club is having our annual Club gathering this weekend. It is always a great event with 80 - 90 cobras in one location cruising through the country in the Austin San Marcus area. I will not be going but if you get a chance check out the Texas Cobra club for all the details.

Ron,
This is from the S.B. news "As of Sunday, Lake Cachuma was discharging about 20,000 cubic feet per second into the Santa Ynez River.
“We remain cautiously optimistic that the amount being discharged from Lake Cachuma will not be so much that flooding in the area west of Lompoc will occur,” Michael Harris, the county’s emergency operations chief, said Sunday."
The S.Y. River is looking very mad! and more rain tomorrow.

Mike,
I drove over to the dam yesterday and they have all of the spillway gates open and are flooding some of the low areas of Redding to avoid having to flood the whole city after this series of storms gets through. The lake is about 8 feet from the top and it seems strange that last Summer it was the lowest since it was first filled and now they are dumping water to control flooding. I believe they are dumping around 60,000 cubic feet per second right now as they want to avoid having to close the drum gates. And it is pouring rain here this morning. It is supposed to rain all week.
I always thought the Santa Ynez river was mad. I remember swimming in it and having a blast. It just seems strange to me that they have built up so much around the dam as it was quite a ways out in the nowhere land when they built it. I have got to get back down there before I go, and see some of the places that I enjoyed so much.

Mike,
I downloaded the pictures that I took yesterday over at the dam and I was wrong about the Drum Gates. They are closed and the water is getting very near the top of them. And it is pouring here this morning.

Lousy weather. Wind is blowing again at about 40/50 MPH and it is raining lightly. We had hard hail and a downpour late yesterday evening. And it is supposed to rain all through the weekend too. This should make the brush grow really well and we can have a major fire season next Summer.

Yea,
Just one more day of downpours and it is supposed to clear off Monday. The last three nights we have had Thunderstorms and hard hale that covered the streets and everything. I think we have had over 9 inches of rain the the past two days. Right now the sun is trying to break through but it was pouring 10 minutes ago. My yards have big puddles of water just standing as it is to wet for the water to soak in. It is hard to believe that last Summer the lake was the lowest it has been since the filled it and now it is about to run over even with the drum gates closed. And we have huge amounts of snow in the mountains, even Lassen has a lot where there is normally none at this time of year. This will be the first time in a long time that I have actually looked forward to a Monday.
