Joe,
Glad you made it back. I had thoughts of contacting the Division of Missing Texans.
Sample letter....

Tru,
The weather is crazy everywhere. We had four or five days in the 80s and humid as all get out then overnight it dropped into the 40s and we had over 5 inches of rain and about 20 minutes of hard hail. Today is supposed to be clear and into the 70s but it shows thunderstorms and lightening for tomorrow.

Hey everyone. It is raining very..very hard right now. Wind is blowing the rain sideways.
The poor roofers have their hands full on these houses. They are still tearing off the roofs from the hail we got a few weeks ago and now it is pouring rain. I suppose there will be more insurance claims coming.

Carb sticking
I am new to the site so apologies in advance if I am not in the right place . Just purchased an older superformance cobra. 351 W with Holley carb,.
It has run great but the weather was hot todAy. When the engine warms up the throttle will stick open. I have to use my foot to pull the pedal back. When the engine cools the problem goes away.
Thoughts about what is causing the problem? Definitely heat related.
Thanks
Matt

Matt,
Possible the butterflys ends or the throttle linkage where it goes through to open them is getting bound up when it gets hot. Another thing is if your throttle return spring is losing its tension when it gets hot. When I was racing I ran two return springs just for that reason. You can get them isn all different tensions so it was easy to find two that was the same as one stiffer one.
A better place for this post would be over in the All Cobra Talk Forum as thhose guys will definitely know what to tell you.

Well Fred, just to inform you, I did make it back to Texas. Miami tried hard to keep me, but in the end they could not do it.

No more work trips currently scheduled. Hopefully things slow down a bit now and I can take some time off next month.

Joe,
You need a vacation as busy as you have been lately. And with the weather the way it is all over, it is hard to think of a place that I would like to go to right now.

I am good with just going home and staying there. Sleep in and relax for a week is a great vacation for me.

Joe,
That is a nice way to relax and just forget everything for a few days. I enjoy working in the yard and just puttering around.

Good grief, It has hailed gere every week for the last month. Luckily most of these storms only bring pea sized hail except for the one that tore up all the roofs. It seems about 1/3 rd of the homes roofs are completed now. Just in time for them to get torn up with yesterdays storm again.
I am sick of this hail. It was about two inches deep in the front yard and beat the yard and flower beds up really good.
The yard is so wet that when you walk on it, it feels like walking on a sponge.

Steve,
We have never had a Winter like this one here. It has gone from the 80s to the 40s back and forth for the past three months. We have had thunder storms, lightening, hail, and over 5"
Ron of rain in three hours a week ago. The lake is 3' from being completely full. Today it is in the 70s and as humid as all get out. And there is an 80% chance of heavy showers and rain tomorrow. Then it shows Thursday as partly cloudy and in the upper 70s with a chance of more showers on Friday.

Raining lightly here this morning and we are supposed to have light showers for the rest of the week. And I just finished all of my mowing and weed eating yesterday out in that hot, humid sun.
The lake is now less than 3" from being completely full and that is after they let all of that water out. To bad they don't have some place on down near the Delta where they could store it as they let out enough to help them out for most of the year.

We had a tornado touch down here in town last night. I have not heard about the damage to the communities where it went through. I am thinking ( hoping ) it wasn't too bad since it is not all over the news today.
It hailed again last night and the rain was intense. It has been a long... long time since I have seen it rain like it did last night. I literally thought my truck was going to be washed out of the driveway. In some places the grass is completely gone from our yard.
The weather this year, especially the last month or so has been very violent. At my mother in laws home in Irving the hail was the size of baseballs and some were the size of softballs. The damage there is everywhere. However it is not like it is in Joplin, so I guess we all got lucky.
Hope everyone is OK.
