Hi Mike,

It's been a long time since I last heard from you. How are things going down there? It is cold here and was 28° this morning and there is ice everywhere. But the sun is starting to melt it off. IT is just a thin layer from the mist we had yesterday.

Hi Ron,
Yes I haven't been here much, Just trying to stay busy these days work has been very slow.
The weather here has been weird, A lot of light rain and when it's not raining it's cold down in the low 30's at night.
I will try to stop by more often and take care.

Mike

Mike,

The weather here has been weird also. Flooding around December 23rd and then just a lot of days of cold mist and temps. down to 27 degrees. Now it is supposed to be sunny today and have a high or around 60° but rain tomorrow again. So far we are way below average for rain and most of what we have gotten was in that three day period when it just poured. Lots of snow in the hills around me.

Ron,
As usual sounds like Texas weather. We had snow for Christmas, warmed up, froze, warmed up, now raining.

Joe,

Good to hear from you. How are things going? It was 40° here this morning and is supposed to get up to the 50 mark today but we have rain forecast for tomorrow and cooled temperatures.

Busy as ever. In the process of writing a research paper for school on gun control. I have to finish up my first draft tonight and submit it. I plan to put it on my rarely used blog page after it is finalized here in a couple of weeks in hope that people read it and do their own research.

Joe,

That sounds interesting. When you get it finished and posted let me know as I would like to read it. Also the link to your Blog Page. If you want it proof read and completely changed submit it to CNN.

Joe,

I received your email but can't open the file as it has an extension that my XP won't work with. Also Microsoft sent down a big update yesterday and I almost didn't install it as it has to do with the USB ports and was for XP, Vista, and 7. They are a completely different platform and it stopped my USB ports from working. I finally got the darn update removed but the ports still won't work so there is something it has changed. Ron is coming out today and bringing his diagnostic disk to see if we have a bad setting or if we will have to wipe the hard drives in both computers and reload them. My Microsoft Word is the 2003 version and it used the extension .doc not .docx.

Well here it is another cold morning. So far our low has been 26° and the ice never got out of my yard until after 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon. I have been fighting that last strain of flu for three weeks and had 3 really bad days but I think I am starting to come out of it now. I have to go back to the doctor Monday. Though the flu shots are obviously not stopping everyone from getting it, I would highly recommend that you get one as this strain is really bad. This is the first time I have had the flue in probably 15 years and it was really, bad. Several young and older people have died from it.

Question

Has anyone figured out how to use that monstrosity that NSASCAR calls a website? I have been trying to print out the schedule and I can do it one way but it won't put the times of the races on it. Copy and paste gives blank pages. Whoever thought that mess up is crazy. And they wonder why their popularity is dropping. If they would show more road races here, NASCAR would be a think of the past in this area. And that God Awful big splash screen cross the top. Every year they make it harder for anyone to find and print out the schedule.

Default Very new guy...

As this appears to be a place where a brand newbie can get some site and car advice....
My wife and are expecting our first cobra delivered next week and the excitement of the event has me waking up around 4:30 am each day...
This has been a " want" for me since I was saving money to buy the kit in the back of one of my comic books at the age of twelve (early 70's).
So the advice I seek is.... Best first day practices.... Do's and Don'ts from those who have been there...
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance....
Rick

Rick,

First congratulations an getting your cobra. And as for advise, unless you have already did so you will most likely get more in the All cobra Talk forum or the Builders Forum as a lot of those guys are going through what you will be and can offer some time saving and good advise. Have fun with the build and enjoy the Cobra. And for piece of mind try to stay out of the big block/small block discussions. Build the car for what you want to use it for and if yo want a big block put one in it. If it is to be a cruiser and show car, you won't need some of the beefier parts that you will if you plan to race it.

Hey guys, hope everyone is OK. I have been busy, busy. We built a new church here in town and the word about our work got out so we now have another one and are working on a third one. I am busy, and happy to be. The alternative stinks. We are pouring A LOT of concrete now. I do really enjoy building Gods House!

Sorry to have been AWOL from this place so much. I do like this site and all the friends we have made over the years but God first, then family then the business. And right now we are working on Gods house.

Miss all you guys.

Not much new here either. Trying to finish up a degree, working my butt off and no closer to the Cobra. I might be getting rid of the Mustang too and getting a truck out of necessity. Might be buying some acreage and starting a small farm. The tech life is killing me health wise from the stress and it would be a good place to be if we hit another stock market mess like 5 years ago.

Joe,

Good luck on getting your degree and don't give up on the Cobra. Living on a farm is a lot less stressful for sure. And the pace of the technology is hard to keep up with any more. Take it easy and good luck.

Don't let Ron show you his alien space craft in his back yard.

We have a small farm. I do the tech life, but we try to grow veggies in the summer and cut wood the rest of the time. Where are you looking to farm??

How small?
