Joe, a nice drive to the gun range, 50 to 200 rounds of shooting and your BP will go down, you'll feel better and that whole mess will melt away.

And who says gun are bad for you, they are therow-pudic release ( spelling is optional ).

I agree with you Tru. I need to but just don't have the time. Sunday is my field day for Texas Hunters Education course I have to finish up, so that will be good.

Closing is now scheduled for Monday at 11AM. Today she had a completely different attitude. Very apologetic, etc... I think that she realized I was dead serious and walking on the deal. She came in at 5AM to finish everything up before I called in again. She also is supposedly getting me an "I'm sorry $500 gift card" from corporate. If it wasn't done by noon today, I was walking on the deal and I still informed her of that. It was done and scheduled at 11:30. I heard panic in her voice today.

Good news is that I will eventually have my own private rifle range setup on my own land. Stress relief evenings will be as simple as stepping outside and walking over to the stand.

Was/is the hold up the seller again or the broker this time ?
Been too long coming for you Joe.

I guess you have a good back stop for your shooting ? Those bullets can't leave your property. The county laws cover you here.

Joe,

It is great to hear that things are finally going your way. Hopefully by Monday afternoon all this will be settled and you will own the land. Congratulations!!

By the way, good targets for the shooting range would be Frogs.

Builder is the hold up this time but we are supposed to close tomorrow at 11. For the backstop I am digging out a root cellar that will leave me a huge mound of dirt. More than enough for all but .50 cal rifles. That's what I am going to use to build the backstop. Will be a bit to get to that point but hopefully next summer that project will be underway.

Yesterday was crazy but yes we did close on the property. I had to run around and get the water and electric setup so they could begin the prep work and deliver the home while I am out of town this week. If everything goes to plan when I get back Friday night, there should be a house set with utilities ready to hook up.

Congrats Joe !
Looks like you got it all going now.

How soon do you think it will be to move out there to your new home ?

Don't worry about hooking up the lights,The Ho Sisters work best in the dark.Water for their hot tub would be a plus though.

Joe,

I second what Fred said. All of it, especially about the hot tub.

I hope everything is going smoothly and you are about ready to move in.

House is set in place and the utilities should be hooked up. We just got back last night from picking up my Mother In Law and I haven't made it out there. I have to get a hold of my friend to borrow his tractor and brush hog, but I don't know when I will get that done yet. I am probably going to spend most of my nights getting things ready to move since next weekend through the 31st I will be out of town for work.

The factory has to send a technician out to finish the trim out of the house and get it ready for us. We don't yet have a final schedule for that, but it is supposed to be done in 2 weeks, so possibly by the 1st.

Fred,

I think Joe is about ready for some help. Maybe you and Frenchy should go over and help him clean out under the trees and along the fence line.

The driveway starts today. Just about ready to move into now. Gotta get some fire ants taken care of and get the shed built and lay some sod down and I will be ready to move in.

Joe,

That is great. You are making progress pretty fast now. Darn fire ants. I got bitten by them once and that is enough. Are you having the driveway paved or will it be concrete?

The driveway will be gravel for now and probably for quite a while. It is 200' long so that is not a concrete expense that I want. I will concrete the parking area later, then maybe a small section each year and spread the costs out over a few years. We have set the move date for 2 weeks from tomorrow. Going to be busy each day up until then.

Good luck on the move and I hope that everything goes well. You have to get the driveway paved before you get your Cobra. It is hard to do burnouts on gravel.

Even Ron posted pictures of the spaceship in his back yard.

I will extend my heartful wish of a great house warming!

Congrats!

Hey Tru,

Where have you been hiding? Do you still drive your Cobra? Joe is going to be very happy I think when he gets everything all settled in and organized.
