Joe,
What happened to Jimmy Johnson and his team this year? They just haven't really been up to their normal form all year, and if he doesn't win next weekend he will be eliminated from the championship picture. I don't like NASCAR and their continual changing of the rules and the last two weekends GoodYear has certainly had a tire problem, I don't care what their engineer and that lard butt Helton says. Not every team in both series is going to have their cars set up wrong and cause the tire problem.

All of the rule changes constantly really dis-enfranchised me. Last 2 years I haven't really followed much. I haven't watched a single race this year. In all it was just a matter of time before something broke down, you just can't keep winning the championship year after year and not eventually have a season that nothing goes right. And again with the chase format, he can win still if they pull it together if he gets in. They have done it before. I still miss the old format where it was just a points game all the way. Worked fine for decades, and the last 10 years they just had to "fix" what wasn't broken.

Joe,
I liked the old format too. NASCAR is going to keep on screwing up the races and lose all of their fans. Already one of the short tracks has announced they will be removing a lot of seats this Winter as NASCAR wants the stands to look full. I haven't watched a lot of their races either as they really aren't racing to me. Whoever gets out front drives away and the rest line up and drive in circles for the rest of the day.

Hey, we finally got some rain. Almost 1/4 inch. But it cleared the smoke and dust out of the air for a day at least. Now if we can just avoid any more fires around here.

Last fall we traded Trina's truck after the computer failed. Was going to cost us about 10K to replace including the labor and would have taken about 4 weeks to get the parts. Would have had to rent a car during that time too. So we bought an F250 Diesel 4x4 to have the towing power we want for when we expand the farm. Been thinking on buying more land and starting to raise a small herd of cattle. For mine, I had a V6 2WD that had a 7.5" rear. For the level I use it, I am overworking the engine, so I needed to step up. The 5.0 V8 is getting almost the same gas mileage. Plus is was really a 1 tire fryer. I also wanted a 4x4 again that I can also have some fun in, so I stepped it up and got it loaded. I have all the available options on the XLT except for the ecoboost engine. These are both ones to keep, not get us through what we need for now.
Don't get me wrong, the 3.7 V6 is actually been a good truck, but I just was using it to it's maximum potential and occasionally needing more towing or more offroad capabilities.

Tru,
Weather permitting John plans to bring the coupe home this coming Saturday. We had our first real storm in 4 years yesterday and it is a mess around here. The forecast is for rain for the next 6 days but that changes hourly and they are never right anyway so it is just a wait and see type of situation.

Wow Ron, finally time. What's it been 8 years since you took it in for a simple fix?

Joe, yes it has been almost 8 years of sometimes very frustrating times until I got it away from thet jerk here that kept it.
Mike, good to see that you are still around. No rain yesterday though we had some clouds and so far it isn't raining this morning. But that could change in minutes the way the weather is any more. Are things pretty dry down there? How is Lake Cachuma (spelling) doing?

Joe & Mike,
Not sure what happened but my first try at answering your post told me that it couldn't display the page and then when I went back it said I had already did that post. It didn't show up but now I see that it is showing.

Joe,
That is a nice looking truck that you have there. Now you really do need more land.

I see it good. I love looking at how mechanical stuff works for some reason. It just fascinates me.

Joe,
That is a very simple engine for all the power they got out of them in World War 11. They have one out at our airport that they show on the Wings and Wheels car and airplane show. It gets as much attention as most of the cars and planes.

While today's engines make a lot of power the cost to is so much higher that financially it really doesn't make sense.

Joe,
I believe the ones that Howard Hughes used on his Spruce Goose plane made about 1,100 horsepower each. I am not sure of that figure but I have seen articles about them making over 1,000 horsepower.

Well the Coupe is home and in the garage with the 69 Cobra. I have a few minor things to clean up and then I will be driving it if the rain doesn't start like they say it is going to.
