We,sometimes, give you a little grief over your rides. You have to know we don't really mean it seriously (except for Tru,Ron & Kristen).:D You have some neat places to go up there. |
Tru - Get er dun b/4 the snow flies!
    Fred - getting grief from anyone on the web site is like a pat on the back. I post the pics I take on my daily rides to help all of the shut-ins remember what a Cobra looks like and its purpose!!!! |
:)
Warren, I am just jealous of all the great places you have to drive. Couldn't get onto the site at first this morning as it was down so I lost a picture that I had to post for you. I thought I saved it but can't find it. Tru is going to have snow before he finishes. Since he couldn't remember he needed a pressure plate I would suggest an automatic but he would forget the torque converter.  Ron :JEKYLHYDE :p |
A few friends came by on Sunday to check my progress............

Yeppers, I was talking, online, last night and told someone I had 3 Cobras in my drive today and one of the ladies on the chat thread asked, "Where in the world do you live to have three Cobras in your drive".. ...I had to snicker a little before I let her know they were cars..............  :D

Just got home from a good drive. And found a problem I have looked for the last three drives. Car sounded funny and just didn't pull right. So when I got out this time I ran it up to about 110 mph in 3rd and it just didn't want to go, as if it was fighting itself and I have thought it had a strange sound the last few times I have started it. So when I got home I started it and was listening to the right side and it sounded as if I had a plug wire crossed. Some IDIOT had crossed the # 3 and # 4 plug wires. I switched them back and it really came alive. Now I know why as I got to higher RPMs it just seemed to drop off. Ron :p :p http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/Cobra_26.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/Cobra_42.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...um/Cobra31.jpg |
Nice pics Ron. I wonder if that idiot ever had any senior moments.
I'll bet that the idiot did not forget his pressure plate. Its amazing how much the side exhausts can cover up a rough running motor. I did a tune up late last year, even though I thought it ran well. Boy what a difference. Five years ago I helped a friend change a timing chain in his sons car. It was running terrible and everything he checked was OK. When we got everything stripped down, the dots on the gears lined up OK ... so I asked his son if he had done anything lately to the car. He said he gave it a tune up. I asked what parts did he replace .... Plugs, cap, rotor, oil & filter, plug wires ...... Boy did I laugh as my friend chased his son down the street ready to kill him :p :p :p :p |
Good pics Ron.
Don't worry Warren, this is not a threat or an infringment on your 'picture' posting. Ron is sharing his recent car trip. |
Warren, The Idiot is having a lot of senior moments. I knew the car sounded strange and just wasn't pulling well three rides ago, but it shakes so bad you don't notice a small miss and even with it at idle with these two plug wires crossed the motor didn't seem to miss, just had that weird sound. I don't even remember having the plug wires off for any reason. My Big Block sure wouldn't still wind to 6K with two wires crossed. Those pictures were at the Redding Convention Center where they have the big car show each April. There are a couple of more in my gallery. But I must have put in a pressure plate as the clutch works fine.  Ron :JEKYLHYDE |
Ron - do not worry ... senior moments are only temporary. When they get to be permanent, who cares - you will not remember.
Hows your pooch doin'? Glad to see someone else posting some pics. Maybe we'll see some from Tru b/4 the snow flys. If we do, they will probably be old ones from last year. Day 12 - twelfth ride!!!! :p :p :p A little cool (64 ºF) but really nice in the sunshine. Here is a shot from a parking lot at Marina Bay about 1 1/2 miles from my house. In the distance is UMass Boston, the JFK Library and the skyline of Boston. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSCN2107.JPG Here is a shot facing the opposite direction. The views in the condo are tremendous. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d.../DSCN21101.JPG |
I drove down to the bottom of my street to take this pic. I live 5 houses from the water. The reflectors were put up by one of the home owners after the second car drove into the water (Atlantic Ocean). Too cold for swimming, but at least everyone that owns a house on the street has beach rightes.

I knew if Ron posted three pictures, Warren would HAVE to post three...to match.
I suppose I could post a shot from the barn. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d.../DSCF00084.JPG But it was taken to fast and is out of focus. :D |
High today of 82*,clear skies and light breeze.
Got the Cobra out,way too nice to miss a ride. Went by my Dad's house to show it off to Debra. She and her husband are certified carnuts. His main thing is running the drags,Outlaw Street Class, high 8's in the 1/4. She is a Registered Nurse and EX refugee from Katrina.I say EX because she has settled in Dallas and moved on with her life. She never was a 'victim'.Debra helps my Dad out three days a week as he recoups from his heart surgery. She and her husband were two of those people we all saw on the news walking and swimming thru water up to their necks. They got to firm land and walked out of N.O..They made it to Texas with nothing but the clothes on their backs, got work and have never looked back. I really admire their strength of charactor and guts. Her reaction when she walked outside and saw it was priceless ! She called her husband on her cellphone to let him know what she was getting to see. I took some pictures of her with Cobra, then we went for a ride. The only time she stopped smiling was when I would nail it.Then her laughter almost drowned out the sidepipes. Re: guts Her husband had just recently retired out of the Marines after 20 years at the age of 37.No doubt that played a big part. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...a_in_Cobra.jpg |
:)
Fred, That is a great picture and a great story of people who don't expect everyone else to do everything for them. It was nice of you to go by and give her a ride. I even went out yesterday for quite a while as the weather here has finally gotten cool enough to stay in the car more than 3 minutes. ;) Ron **) |

Tru, Your car is looking good even if it doesn't have a pressure plate. Snow coming your way before to much longer so you need to get it going for at least a couple of rides and picture taking. As for Warren and all of his pictures, I have used all the close spots around here and have to drive farther now to get places I haven't used before. Maybe up to Lassen Park one of these days and get some pictures of the volcano. I wish I had another person around here that would go out on drives with me, but they have all left. Ron  |
Another picture from yesterdays drive. :)
Ron :o http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/Cobra_33.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/Cobra_53.jpg |
Ron, good you are holding up our end. :D
Warren, as suggested, we will be looking for a few pics of your place...in Jan or Feb. :D I think the days off from having a full house of people has Kristen busy with other things. :D :D Fred, that was a superior thing to do ( not to much for the ego..eh? ). :D |
