Warren,
Glad that I just misunderstood what you were getting at. I knew that I had said you must have a lot of gas stations close by and I thought that maybe you took that to mean I felt you had to many back there. And your scenery is beyond what I can find unless I drive quite a ways. I just wish we had a few more stations strung out through some of the mountain roads and I wouldn't be so afraid to start out alone, as if I ran out of gas in some places it might be an hour before anyone came by. I normally plan my trips around stations and then I fill up at the first pump and top off again at the last one as I leave.

Well, the trans is in the car, what a pain.
I see I am going to have to fab a few things. Should be ready to drive again in 2007.

Tru,
Congratulations, you are making progress. You should get in at least one drive this year just so you can say you did it. What are you going to have to fab? Anything big or just some minor stuff?

I am going to fab a new trans mount cross brace. I will be fabricating a new shift handle. I need a new drive shaft. Plus I will need to figure out the speedo setup.
Just few things I will need to address to get back on the road.

Rain has stopped, sun is out, streets are dry but it's only 62 ºF outside. I think that I'll address my keys and go for a ride.

I would take a picture, but if you go put a bunch of dirt in your eyes it would be just like being here and look about the same. You might as well stick your head in the oven to simulate the heat, though it was only 108* today.
We have had maybe an inch of rain all year. It's a little dry. Dusty. Hot. Opening day for Dove season it was 86* at daybreak. How fun. No, I don't go dove hunting, just read the reports.

Nine 10 year old girls. We bowled. We ate pizza. We ate cake. We opened presents. Came home. Played wild outside. Ate hotdogs. got in jammies. Currently one group is watching 'High School Musical' (a Disney girl thing) and another group is playing 'doll babies'. (playing nursery with dolls).
We will sing happy birthday, have a little more cake (the cookie cakes you can buy) and then start the next movie- hopefully it will help lull them to sleep. Regardless, I am setting the alarm at midnight, and hoping everyone goes to bed by 1. I'll get them all up by 8:30, fix eggs, etc. for breakfast, then get them off to volleyball. oh yeah!
Tomorrow afternoon I will lie around and do nothing.
seeya!

Warren,
In the last picture that shows Logan Airport in the background, What it that concrete tower out in the water? All very nice pictures and some great backgrounds.
Brent,
Just take some pictures with the desert in the background. Warren needs to see something besides nice trees and water for a change. Our weather is a lot nicer than yours. It is only getting into the mid to upper 90s here now except on an occasional day it will hit about 103/105.
Kristen,
You did have a busy day. Now you can lay around and rest for a day. At least you earned it.

I have a new trans mount!
Gee, I think I am going to have to bring wood up and make a fire in the fireplace. It is raining again.
Looks like Kristen is being super mom.
Nice pics Warren, isn't that a bit chilly?
Well, you all have a great weekend.

Tru,
Glad that you have the transmission mount now. Isn't this a little early for you to be getting much rain? Send it on up Warren's way. Sounds as if his weather is starting to really cool down. And I have two of those stocking caps and they work great on cool days.

FLU SHOTS
They are starting to give flu shots around the corner from me today.
Is there such a thing as getting the shot too early in the season ???

Fred,
Not to my knowledge. I get the flu if I take them early or late. Didn't take one last year and never had the flu.

Fred, I used a standard mount and then I had to make a new cross member with recessed bolt pockets to get the mount to even up with the cross member.
I also had to make a new slave assembly. Thank the lord I have a lathe. I had to spin two of them up as the first one, about 1/2 inch longer than the original, was too short. Anyhow, my wife tried the clutch and she likes this one much more than the old race clutch. I'm getting a little over 5/8 inch of travel.
Don't get flu shots, they just give me the flu...what's the point.
I wish I could send all this rain to someone. It is getting old. I think my pond will be filled with ice this year.
Well, I have three more tasks to finish the installation; shift handle ( I'll forge a new one ), Speedo hookup ( not sure about this one ) and a drive shaft.
I think I am going to make a fire, it is that chilly here.
