No snow here ... although we are supposed to have a big rain storm on Saturday. My supper party did not include anyone (male or female) shown in my gallery. One couple showed up in an Envoy and the other in a Merc.
The corned beef dinner was fantastic ... but the leftovers were even better. Grilled corned beef and cheese sandwiches ..... ummmmmm. 1000% better than Wendy's.
Well, its 8:30 ... time for some corned beef hash with an egg on top. Glad I cooked 10 lbs of corned beef.
Its all the way up to 38 ºF ... with a projected high of 50 ºF. No ride today.

I like cold and snow, I don't like the heat. You can put more clothes on, but you can only take so much off before you get arrested. Plus, it's much easier on the tires to practice "drifitng" with snow on the roads.
By the way, I put about 40 miles a day in with the work commute. Sometimes in the Cobra.

I'm with ya Brent. I like mild warmth, but this 90 or more degrees is a bit much for me. I can always make a fire and get warm. I can't always find an air conditioner.

I like all of the seasons here in New England, except when its snowing (will not drive Cobra in snow).
My ideal weather is anywhere from 68 to 75 ºF. Someplace like San Diego would be nice, but I'm too old to learn Spanish.
Leftover corned beef dinner tonight was super good. Better that the last 2 days suppers. No more corned beef ... I think I'll have a good cry
The heat does not bother me too much ... as long as the air conditioners are working. The thing that I really hate is the high humidity. Once the dewpoint gets above 70 ºF, I find it difficult sometimes to breathe.

I have to agree with Warren. I like it when the temperatures are in the 80 to 95 range with NO humidity and wind. At my age and health, these Summer 115 to 119 degree days with humidity are just about more than I can stand to get out in for any amount of time. And as Brent said, you can only take off so many clothes. At least I have air conditioning, but the people with swamp coolers are no better off than if they had just a fan. Oh, well at least I won't have many more months to worry about anything.

it's windy windy today! hot last night at the middle school football game. We were all looking for shade in front of the press box. Quite cool this morning.
We have the homecoming parade at school today- Gus gets to be in it. Will post pics later.

27 ºF last night. At least all the mosquitoes are dead. Around here, the EEE and West Nile viruses had schools in some towns cancelling after-school sports.
Time to put up the storm windows on the back porch. Big storm due Saturday.

The five day forecast for here is for it to be in the low 80s and upper 70s through the weekend and then next week dropping into the 60s. If that stupid wind would just stop blowing, the days would be great. I spend yesterday afternoon raking leaves and trying to clean gutters. Impossible with the wind blowing leaves faster than I can remove them.

Ron,
Have you ever talked with this guy ? I think I have !
Mujibar was trying to get a job in India .
The Personnel Manager said, "Mujibar, you have
passed all the tests, except one. Unless you pass
it you cannot qualify for this job."
Mujibar said, "I am ready"
The manager said, "Make a sentence using the
words Yellow, Pink and Green."
Mujibar thought for a few minutes and said,
"Mister manager, I am ready"
The manager said, "Go ahead."
Mujibar said, "The telephone goes green, green,
and I pink it up, and say, 'Yellow, this is Mujibar.'"
Mujibar now works as a technician at a call
center for computer problems.

Darn,
That is the same guy that works for Dell, Hewlett Packard, and some other tech groups I have had to talk to. No wonder their tech overhead is so low. I am sure that AOL probably trained him.

Just finished cleaning the Cobra and wet painting it. Took almost 30 minutes. Then I filled it with gas. Three flies landed on it and slid off and broke their legs. Man, I love weather like this. It is 81 degrees, no humidity, just a very slight breeze and really great. Wish I had someone else to go driving with as I get tired of going by myself, but the others were all gone or busy.

I hope the My Shasta Goddess cuts a fart and the wind picks up. Just for the halibut, I went for a short ride even though the temp was only 47 ºF. Got back a hour ago and my ears are still cold.
Boy, that is cold. The engine loved it. Wish someone would make an inexpensive chiller for the air intake of a carb. I stopped at the local CVS to pick up some Halloween candy. Boy... the candy bars shrink every year. I swear I could inhale the "snack size" bars thru one nostril.
So I went to the supermarket. Ahhhhhaaaaaaaa. They had candy bars
House brand bars on sale at $0.50 each. At least the kids will not sneer at these bars. They are huge!
Looks like the Sears store is closed in your picture. My local Sears has a 4 story parking garage built next to it, and the regular parking lot is huge.
At least the sun was out. Checked out a house for sale (waterfront) at a price which I considered reasonable. Now I know why its reasonable. Someone will buy it, blow the house up and start from scratch.

I haven't heard the flys with broken legs saying in at least 20 years.
Excellent Ron.

Warren,
I really don't know how the Sears store here survives as they never have many people since the Walmarts and others went in just a couple of blocks from them. And I also parked on the side of the mall where very few park any more because of the sun. There were a lot of cars over on the North side. I just like Sears tools and stuff and do most of my major shopping there. What a job to haul a washing machine home in the Cobra.

40 MPH wind gusts with light rain ... prediction for 4 " of rain today ...UGH
Guess I'll buy some oil and a filter for the Cobra. Also some Stabil. Time to check the antifreeze.
