Tru,

Latest weather report. It is still pouring rain and the wind is getting bad. Supposed to be gusts of up to 60 MPH this afternoon. They have stopped Northbound traffic on I-5 twice today. Once for a blown over power pole just in South Redding and now at Fawndale which is where they stop everyone when their is snow in the mountains as it is the last place where the big rigs can turn around. They are now letting them through as they p[lowed the highway but each truck and car has to have chains with them.

We are supposed to get some thunderstorms this evening and then sunny 2 days and more thunderstorms Sat. Good news is now through Saturday, the lowest low is 42. Not too bad temp wise. Next week forcasted to right at freezing at night, but all of the above is more than 15sec after looking out the window, so I will see what comes to pass.

Joe,

We need the rain but I would like a day or so break. Also there just isn't that much snow in the mountains as it is to warm and the wind is blowing like mad.

Well it is still raining but not nearly as hard but that darned wind is still blowing. I have heard of a few power outages but really not that many. Strange considering the rain and that hard wind all day yesterday.

Well after struggling for the last 20 minutes trying to get the cork (which looks like hell now) out of my bottle of wine, I give up.

I went through a couple of boxes looking for my cork remover, not to be found.

...I'm off to the store for a new one, on the motorcycle of course.

Mike,

Are you having any hard downpours there and if so how about any land slides? Our rain has let up but it has turned very cold now.

Mike,

I remember the down pours from when I lived in Paradise Camp. There was a Winter stream that ran behind our house and about a mile up the mountain was 3 waterfalls that we had climbed on during the Summer. In the Winter you could hear them for a mile as they really made a lot of noise. One had a small cave in the very center of it and we used to take ropes and climb down to go into the cave.

There was also a pretty good sized river that ran through the valley down in front of where we lived but I don't recall the name. It would really spread out during the rain season. I remember going swimming in it once in December. I have got to get back down there and visit some of the places that i liked so much. Santa Ynez, where I went to school, Solvang where I loved the bakery.

Of all the places we lived in when I was young, I would most like to go back to two of them for a visit. One is there and the other is upstate New York, a little town called Lawrenceville. Last time I was in Fresno, it has grown and changed so much I had trouble finding my way around. Yosemite is to full of people any more so I have no desire to go back there.

Ron,
My "friend" has finally converted my 8mm video to DVD of my ride up to Paradise! so if you email me your address I will send it to you. I think the River you are talking about is the Paradise River.

I am not sure you want to get caught with 8mm movies.

Dang, it got to 30 the other day.

What a miserable weekend, I started getting a sore throat Friday evening and by Saturday morning couldn't swallow anything but liquid. Stayed in bed all day and am not feeling very much better this morning. This is the first cold that I have had in many years and it is a pain to deal with. I have to get over to the drug store and get something to take. I think I would have to get better to die.

Well Monday morning and my sore throat and bad cold are still really bothering me. Wednesday I go to the doctor for my arm and maybe he will give me a shot to speed this along.

Thought that I would put this in here though I am sure most of you that travel on the airlines have seen it.

That's funny Ron. Well not funny but you know what I mean.
Woner what the whole story is on that deal.

Tru,
You can take off your big coat now (for a few days)

I can't help but to think about our buddy Warren today. He would be driving the Cobra, even in this cold weather. Sure miss him.

Steve,

I remember reading about them actually breaking his guitar and they weren't going to replace it or pay for it. I figured that is why the You Tube Video. It has over 1 million hits so far.

A. Your partner climaxes first.
B. You both climax simultaneously
C. You don't miss ESPN Sports Center.

4. Passionate, spontaneous sex on the kitchen floor is:

A. Probably needs a little more time before she can cope with that sort of intimacy.
B. Is uptight and a waste of time.

Ron,
All the home's in the Paradise area are on a 99 year lease from the US Forest Department and about 10 years ago they stopped renewing the leases and most of the home's abandon (Very sad) all so Forestry Department can make more money by charging you to use the River!

Well that sucks. Will they still let you drive up through there? How do they charge for using the river? By the mile.

Up here they started charging to even park in the darn parking lots by the lake. I stopped in the one up by the Pit River Bridge to use the porta potty and they were going to charge me $10 dollars so I told them I would just do it in the middle of the parking lot. Then they said if that was all I had stopped for it would be ok. I don't know what they do about people who go to The Tail Of The Whale to eat as it uses some of the same parking area.
