Tru,
You can stop the Snow dance. You finally made it snow in Texas. Big ole fat snowflakes.

Joe,

You just made Tru's day for him. He has been trying to get rid of his snow for a long time now. Glad it went to Texas instead of here.

They are talking about it snowing through Midnight. Temps are supposed to keep dropping hitting the freezing point at Noon today, and slowly dropping to the mid 20s tonight. They are talking up to 5 inches where I live and 6-8 just north of us.

Got to love it when a plan comes together.

Joe, glad you wanted this snow, we really don't need any more.

I was going to send it to Ron, but Texas is just as good.

Not much going on outside here today. This place loooks like Alaska!

Tons of snow and man is it beautiful.

Hope all is well with my CC Buddies.

Joe & all,

See, the Mt. Shasta Goddess is still ticked off at you from a couple of years ago. We have snow in the mountains, but not a single flake so far this low. I just saw another group of clouds leaving here and heading East.

Got a text from my neighbor. Almost 5 inches in Lavon and still falling. It is melting here in the city a little as there is a lot of traffic, but out there pure white everywhere. It has almost reached what the predicted maximum accumulation would be out there and still forecasted 12 more hours of Snow. Might actually get 8-10 inches if this keeps up.

Weather on TV just said 5-8 inches for me. What is funny though is they followed that up with the report from the airport is officially 4 inches had accumulated there as of 10:30 (12:30 was the report). So 2 more hours, not yet totaled, but it may only get 1 more inch. OK sure. That to me is like the weatherman saying there is a small chance of rain today and it is a huge down pour. Take a look out the window before going on air maybe?

There is 7.4" on the hood of the truck and in the driveway.

I was surprised it was the same on the driveway since it usually is a little warmer than the hood on a car that has not yet been started for the day.

Still falling like mad here. Visibility is about 1/4 mile and it is falling straight down, there is very little wind blowing it around.

It is cool. I haven't seen snow like this here since I was a little kid.

I know Tru, not a big deal for you as you get this all he time.

Kinda makes me wanna go build a snowman in the yard.

I left Nebraska because I did not like the snow in the winter, but once every few years is OK with me too. Just over 2 years ago I was in Nebraska just before Christmas and there was a large multiple day snowstorm falling a lot like this one. Got about 1 1/2 feet of snow. Was a lot of fun for me. My wife was scared as hell every time I would hit the gas in the truck just to make it slide a bit though. My arm got a little sore by the time we got to my sisters house.

I love the look of the Snow Pack ice. How blue it turns and with the layers visible. I don't know why, but I do.

The pictures of the ice are great. Did any of you get the e-mail that showed the striped icebergs that went around the other day? There were some really great pictures in it.

I don't think I got it, but I remember something about striped Icebergs, but I don't remember the significance.

Yeti Spotted in Texas

The kid's built a Yeti Snowman. You don't see that everyday!

They named the regular snowman "Little Joe"

BTW:

The news reported this is the most snow we have had here since 1978.

Just a little bit more and we would not have had this much since 1938.

Don't give up Steve. More could be on the way. Good job on the snowmen. I am sure that Tru would send you enough for them to build a mammal.

Officially 12.5 inches of snow at DFW airport.

My back yard with crappy cell phone pics. My camera was dead and I am out of batteries.

Looks great Joe. Now just wait until the big one hits. Heck, Tru may come to visit when he sees that as he would feel right at home.

It started snowing here in east central Alabama about two hours ago. The accumulation is not enough to complain about yet, but given the rarity of genuine ground covering snow here, it is noteworthy.
