Thanks, I was getting a few comments from my wife that it looked too "clinical".
I really want to get more exposure for the book. This whole industry is like the automotive industry with an attitude. I am not sure I have seen this many egos on one plate.
Well, it might make 50 today. I really need to start the cobra up and move her out into the sun.

We had some rain yesterday and then it got cold. It is supposed to rain for the next three days but isn't doing so right now. I had ice on my gates and locks yesterday morning. The lake is just 41 foot from the top but it will take more water for that last 40 feet than it has to fill the main lake up to this point as it will have to fill all of the canyons that it spreads up into. All the old towns and buildings are now well underwater again.

That is good to hear Ron. Hopefully it keeps coming at a steady pace and doesn't flood where you don't need the water.

Joe,
So far no flooding but the small streams and rivers are running near the top of their banks. But this is good as it has allowed them to shut down the amount they are letting through the dam to almost the minimum as they are keeping the river at a high stage below the dam. That is the main reason the lake had risen so fast. There have been a few minor slides where the burned areas are but only a couple that have closed roads for a few hours around here. This is the most rain I have seen in 5 years.

See what you get for complaining about how dry it had been.
Now you are complaining because there is too much water.
I only have so many favors with the Mt. Shasta goddess. You are going to have to wait on the dry out thingie.
You know I had to ask her not to dump any more snow in Lavon TX.

Actually no one is complaining about the rain. We really needed it as most of the farms around here were going to be out of business next Summer if we had another dry year. I just saw on the news where they had a slide that has blocked one of the highways and are telling people to use an alternate route as it is going to take some time to get it cleared. With all of the fires the past two Summers, nearly every canyon wall around here is ready to slide.

Tru,
Your friendship payment has been mailed. The city of Lavon thanks you. We would give you a key to the city, but it is so small all we have is a hook latch for a lock.
Nice day here in Texas. Mid 60s and sunny. Perfect day to go for a Cobra ride. Only problem is I have to work and I don't have a Cobra

Mt. Shasta and Lassen have the best snow cover they have had in the past 5 years. Also one of the Cal Trans people told me that the snow pack up in the Sierras was pretty good. So now I guess the Goddess can start sending more snow and cold East.

Great day here yesterday. It got up to 72° and I mowed the lawns. Didn't use the weed eater or do the upper lot as I came in to COOL off and then watched the race.

Steve,
Good to hear that you are busy. I just finished mowing the upper lot and out front but won't do the weed eating today as it is supposed to rain this afternoon and I see clouds moving in. I love that garden tractor with the mower. I can now mow in about 20 minutes what used to take me a couple of hours with the regular mower. Of course there are places I can't get with it, but the weed eater takes care of them quickly.

Steve, things are slow...I'm waiting for you to buy a copy.
It is nice outside today, might even get to 45 or 50. March is usually the month where it starts to give hints of sprinf and then it dumps one more big snow.
Started the Cobra Saturday. It ran fine. I really am going to have to put her up and put tape on the trans plugs.
I am waiting for the roads to become dry. They are mud right now, but when the grader comes around, they are decent. Still frozen though.
Well, catch you all later.

Tru,
Why the tape on the transmission plugs? Do you have a drip or what? At least you got to sit in it and listen to it run. If it starts getting warmer around here I am going to get the 69 out and take it for a drive. Next month is the big Kool April Nights car show. For some reason I haven't heard much about it this year and normally by the middle of February that is all you hear about.

Yup, got a drippy drips. They are standard pipe thread plugs and I do not like tightening them too much.
I hear ya, I understand we could see 60 this weekend. I might be able to ride around the driveway a little to get the feel.
The snow has been melting big time and we only have about 12 inches on the ground now. You can actually walk around without snow to your knees.

Good to hear that the snow is going away. Is there any chance of flooding anywhere around near you if it melts to fast? I had e-mails from friends in other states back East and they are worried about flooding if it suddenly jumps into the 60s and 70s and some of the ice in the smaller rivers breaks lose and is in the run off as the streams will already be over their banks in places.
EDIT: Most of you are probably already aware of this but there is an F! Key Virus that can cause you problems if yu press the F1 Key because of a prompt from some website. It seems to deal mostly with the using of the Windows Help files, but Snopes has verified it and has some links to Microsoft sites that will tell you how to work around it for now.

Well after three really great days, temperatures in the low 70s and upper 60s, we are supposed to have rain tomorrow and over the weekend. But I got all of my mowing done and the place looks better. Now I have to get some batteries for my cordless phone handsets. All of them are bad and will only work for about 5 minutes. I didn't realize they were 6 years old until I looked to see when I bought the phones yesterday.

Had a pretty strong but short thunderstorm yesterday. A little hail mixed in, but nothing damaged. Looking forward to relaxing this weekend.

Me too. That is why I worked all week getting the lawns and the upper lot and outside the fences all mowed and cut with the weed eater. Now with rain forecast for tomorrow and the weekend I can just sit and watch it get ready to shoot back up when the sun comes out. I have already mowed two times this year.

I might have a nice cobra trip to TN at the end of April.
As long as the skys are going to be clear, I am good.
Ron, are you taking the 69 out for a spin in the nice weather?
Dave

Another fun day going to the Dentist. At least it is only to get the permanent crowns on for the teeth they fixed last time. After that, I am making Chicken Fajitas tonight for dinner. Unfortunately it is supposed to rain, so they will be on the stove, but I have a way of them coming out real good in a skillet.
