Tru,

No, by the time I could get back there, go through all of the tests again and everything it would cost as much as it is going to here. And this way I can be at home to rest. This week isn't so bad as I just have the arm surgery Wednesday and have a couple of weeks at minimum before any eye surgery. I go in next week to find out when they are going to do the first eye.

Ron,
Good thing you are getting all your body work done before you have to go to Canada to get it done!

Mike,

The are thing just happened last Summer and today is the day for that surgery. The eyes and cataracts started about two years ago but my eye doctor told me they weren't bad enough then for the surgery. Now they are and the first question from the darn surgeon was why did you wait until you are so old to have them. Geez, like I did it intentionally. I will really be happy to have all of this over with as it is going to string out all Summer if
all of the stuff he told me happens the way he said. Next week I go into the eye hospital here to get the final papers and stuff filled out, find out what the exact cost is going to be, and get the date for the first surgery. Yes it is going to be a fun Summer.

Mike,

He cut that thing out of my arm yesterday and it was a lot larger and deeper than we first thought. I thought that it was just barely below the skin, but once he started cutting and I watched him have to go deeper and deeper I started to wonder. It went almost to the bone and was a little larger than a quarter when he got it all out. Messy looking thing. The worst part was having to spend the rest of the day in bed with an ice pack on my arm to help keep blood from getting under the skin and to reduce swelling. Everything feels pretty good this morning, just a hint of some pain when I move the arm a certain way, but I can't use it to lift or anything for at least a week. Then it will be time for the eye surgeries and exams to start so I guess my Summer is shot so far as doing anything fun. But it will be nice to have all of this stuff done.

Ron, you got to give us a clue when you get all this fixed.

Dang, going to be 85 today.

I am sorry to say, Cancer has done my pet. We will be taking him to the vet tonight.

I am a little down.

Tru,

Happy birthday and at the same time I am saddened to hear about your pet. I really know what it is like to have to take a pet for that last ride as I had to do it twice in a 2 month period about 3 years ago if you recall. I was so lost for a week after that I couldn't even get up in the morning and figure out what I was supposed to do. We had a routine and it was gone.

Best wishes and I know that today is going to be hard. Wish I could say something that would ease it, but I just don't know of any way to make it easier.

Thanks Ron.

Yukon passed quietly at 5:32 last night. He is burried on our farm over looking the 2 story barn and the seed barn. He was a great pet and companion.

He will be missed.

RIP

Tru,

That is a great picture of him and I know that you will miss him really bad. I have my last 3 little Poms buried out in the back yard where they used to like to play so much. Some times when I am out and look at their graves I feel like crying. It is really hard to take them in and then have to make the trip back home with them.

Tru, My heart goes out to you. I understand completely what you are going through right now. Monday morning I am taking my 17+ year old cat for the same thing. He is a Norwegian Forest Dweller...at his prime he was 24lbs and when standing up on his back legs "at the kitchen counter" was 3' tall. I've had him since he was 6 weeks old. But now he is 8 lbs., deaf and very feeble and I fear his kidneys must be failing. It is no different than losing a family member but I can not let him suffer so I know it's necessary. I wish you peace. ~Ginger

You don't realize how attached to a pet you are until times like these. They always love to see you. We had to put our 3 year old cat down. Squeaky came down with a rare blood disorder. Two trips to the vet with IV's and all. It was tough watching him wither away. He would just lay there looking at you and meowing, sad. We miss him.

Ralphy,

I am sorry to hear about your cat, but I think that most of us have had to go through this and it is never easy nor does it get easier. So far I have gone thought it 4 times and each time seems to hurt more than the time before. But as hard as it is, I did it rather than watch them suffer. Sherry was almost 14 years old and her kidneys and other organs were starting to shut down and she could hardly walk. They are all in a far better place now than I am is the way I like to think of it.

Thanks all of you.

Sometimes pet take a special place over all other companions. They know when you are happy and they know when you are sad. They know how much distance to put between them and you during those times.

And best of all, they don't talk back when you talk to them.

Well my dogs came through their visit to the vet ok yesterday. A big relief and they also got all of their shots including the rabies shot. Frenchy is kind of laying around this morning but Sherry and Teddy used to do that the day after they had their shots so I am not worried about him.

It rained most of the night last night and is coming down pretty good now. Just looked and the weather forecast is for rain tomorrow and Thursday. Of course it would rain tomorrow when I have to go in to see the eye doctor.

I guess they had a big turn out for the car show. I saw that there were over 1800 cars in the cruise.

Darn Tru, that thing is almost as big as you. How did you get him. With a gun, bow and arrow, or just run him down?

That was a bow.

Dang, I was heating up pretty bad too.

Came down and went in to undress before I went to work on him.

My aim is getting worse. I was trying to hit it in the head and got him about four inches lower.
