You just need more practice and that is still a good shot. People around here are reporting seeing more wild turkeys coming into their yards than usual this year.

Probably the water level. If the area has good vegitation and residual or extra plant growth, the birds will move in to eat.
There has to be cover nearby.

There is lots of cover around here. The forests grow right up to the edge of town. That is why the fires are so scary in the Summer as several tows have burned over the past 5 years.

You beat me to it Joe,
Nice bird Tru,
Been busy and just now got a chance to read back a few post. Sorry to hear about your cat. I still carry my dogs tag on my key chain. He was poisoned and I had to put him down in 1992. I still miss the little guy.
Joe,
You going to SCAT?

I really want to but it is currently a 50/50 shot if I have to work. I am planning on mowing my lawn this afternoon when I get home from work, so I have Saturday morning to wash and wax the Mustang. If I have to work, then I will not get off until sometime between 12 and 2, not leaving much time to get there and do much of anything as I am sure several cars will have left by then.
I am planning on the monthly GTG on the 1st though. It is my birthday, so I am hoping for good weather and an open passenger seat for a little Cobra fun on my birthday.

We are having wind and a mix of rain from time to time. It poured yesterday morning and much of the day. But it is supposed to be sunny and in the high 70s Friday. This yellow pollen is really something. Everything around here looks as if it was painted a sick yellow and then the rain made it look really bad.

Friday at last and my last doctors visit this week. I am really growing tired of them. Nine so far this month and then Monday the stitches out of my arm, Wednesday the first eye surgery, Thursday go back to the eye surgeon so he can do a post op check on the eye. So three of the five weekdays next week will be spent in doctors offices. I hope that it ends soon.

Thanks Mike,
It has now changed to four of the five days next week will be spent going to the doctors. The only really bad thing about it besides it is getting up here is his darn office is on Churn Creek which is the most heavily traveled street in Redding and the post op appointments are all in the two or three o'clock range when all 6 lanes are bumper. Getting into their parking lot isn't hard, but trying to get out and back onto the road is about a 20 minuter wait unless someone will slow down and let you in. I am just going to be very happy when this is all over and the last appointment I have will be with my regular eye doctor for the new lens. They told me that they have tentatively set the next eye surgery for May 18th if everything checks out well on this first one.

Gentlemen,
There were no less than six turkeys in the back yard yesterday.
I asked my wife if she wanted to get a tag for one, she declined.
It is exciting to see all these critters running around.
The new truck is a pain.

Tru,
As I said in an earlier post, we are seeing more Turkeys come down into peoples yards this year then normal.
What is the problem with the new truck? Hope it isn't anything very bad.

It is new for us. We are poor, so a 2003 GMC with a sh!t load of miles is as new as it is going to get.
I have been fixing things left and right. I think I will have a decent vehicle in a couple of weeks.
I need Oprah to read my book and like it.

Tru,
You will have a nice truck once you finish the work you are doing on it.
Well today is the first eye surgery so I am hoping for the best.

Thanks for the good wishes guys. The first eye went well and it is doing great this morning. Kind of sore and sensitive to bright light so I have to wear dark glasses for a while. When I go in this afternoon for the first post op check I will find out a lot more. But I can already tell the difference just by covering the left eye which is the one they did and looking at something and than covering the right eye. It is so much more clear with the left eye. I am on a test program with this eye and have to go in again tomorrow, the 5th, 12th, and 17th. If everything is good on the 17th he will tell me when he is going to do the other eye.
