I like the free gas idea. They say they won't have it completely stopped until some time next Summer. I just went up and filled my gas can for the mower and it was just over $7.

I also looked at my thermometer and it is right on 90 and humid. A miserable day to be out mowing and working but I got most of it done. I gave up on the weed eater as I was to hot and starting to feel sick.

Mike,

Why wait for the facts? They will just put them out in a way that makes them look the best. Be like everyone else in that area and start getting ready for the lawsuits. So far I have seen three different facts about that cap they got on. First it was pumping up about 1/3rd of the oil, then 1/2 and last it was around 2/3rds. But anything they can get into tankers and keep out of the water is going to be a help.

Mike, they will spin this so it was the American fishing industry that is to blame. He!! people already blame so many other people, it is hard to imagine so many were involved.

Anyway, it was cool last night. I just wish the nightmares would go away.

I had to laugh at the news during lunch. BP stated that the cap was containing 1/3-3/4 of the oil. So you don't know if it is getting most of it, or if most of it is still being missed?

Joe,

I saw that and thought the same thing. They sure leave enough room in there to be wrong. But from the video I saw, I don't think they can be getting over 1/2 of it at the best. It was a smaller gusher than the previous videos, but still looked like a, lot coming out to me. However I don't know if they had sealed those vents in the cap when that video was taken as they never said.

I suppose it is all in how you look at it.

Sinkens me to think the gulf with be an oil slick for years -- because of BP.

Dang.

I just saw a piece in the local paper that now some are claiming the leak is more than either BP or the Govt. has stated and that the clean up will take years. Not surprised abut the time it will take, but what about the oil that is under water? That is going to take a long time for it to go away. Any way you look at it that mess is going to take a long time to be cleaned up when they do finally get the leaking stopped.

Good morning Tru,

It is nice here this morning but I think we are getting ready to start having our real Summer heat. Supposed to be in the 90s today and heading upward next week. And we are having some humidity on top of that.

Good news is that for the first time in many years the lake is full and they are starting to release enough to bring it down a foot or so to prepare for the snow melting in the Summer. They elected to not close the drum gates and add the extra 20'. But they are running the extra release through the powerhouse and running two more generators so they are producing more power now than they have been for quite a while.Sad thing is most of the water will just run out into the bay and be lost. I wish they had some storage facilities south of here to save a lot of it for Summer use.

Had some good rain this morning, but it was still about 80°. Now it is sunny and humid as hell out there. It is getting hot too, but supposed to have T-storms tonight, so tomorrow will be bad also.

It is in the upper 80s today and a little humid. I did some weed eating and you can't believe the dust already. I looked like a walking mud ball when I got through with the humidity making me sweat and the weed eater throwing up all of the dust.

Hot, wet and sticky...like candy baby!

Except when you take your cobra out. Dang, black leather seat in the heat is almost a curse.

I thought I was going to get second degree burns!

Tru,

Black leather interior is nice except in the hot sun. I liked the white and red in mine for that reason. It still got hot but not nearly as much as the black ones that I had in another car. We are now into the 90s and steadily climbing toward the triple digits with some humidity mixed in. I was going to take the 69 out for a ride yesterday but it was just to hot for me. The heat really bothers my nerves bad the past two years and I am sure as I pass another century it will just get worse.

Well I guess that summer has officially arrived here. It was 97 yesterday and is supposed to be in the upper 90s for a few days before heading into the triple digits. Bad for the fire season as all the rain has really made the manzanita and other underbrush grow like crazy and that stuff dries out to tinder dry in a day or so of heat.

On the good side the lake is full and they decided that instead of lowering the drum gates and storing that extra 20'of water they would lower the lake about 2' by running two more generators and that would give them room for the snow run off. I believe they still had 25' of snow on the highway through Lassen Park a week ago. Said it wouldn't be open for another tow or three weeks.

Hot and humid here today. Took the 69 for a ride and got a new T- shirt from the Finishline Body shop here. Really miserable outside now as it is 94 and humid. They sprayed under the house today and put in a new post on my porch. I have one large beam that has rot on the end and they will send out their guy to look at it and see what can be done. It is going to be a large and expensive job, but what the heck. If I don't spend everything I have my friends will do it soon. Theresa took the dogs in today for their teeth cleaning and will bring them home when she gets off work.

I hadn't started the 69 in almost 2 months and I got in and pumped the accelerator a few times and it fired up the first time it turned over. But it only had 1/4 tank of gas and ran out before I got it out of the garage.

Ron ... boy , do I wish we would be at 94 . We`ve seen 100 + for the past 5 days . Yesterday was 103 and today 104 ... and lots of humidity . They did say a "cold" front will be coming through and drop the temps to the mid 90 range .
Too hot to take the Cobra out for any period of time , the car holds up better than I do .
Really looking forward to the Alaska trip this August ... hope I freeze !

Bob,

We are heading for the triple digits. Our normal Summer temperatures range from 110 to 118 and we would normally have already been in the 105 to 110 range by now but so far this has been an unusually cool Summer. We even set one record a few days ago for the coolest for that day.

If you need a person to carry your luggage on the Alaska trip, I may be available for a very low fee.

You definitely get hotter than we do ... and we normally see 100+ , but not until August . This is way too early for these temps . Normal this time of the year is upper 80`s to lo 90`s . I`ll refrain from saying anything about yours being a dry heat as I`ve worked outside in a dry 117 degree heat in AZ in August . 110 to 117 is just plain HOT no matter what someone says !!
Funny thing , I`ve had several people here also volunteer to carry my luggage .

Bob,

We used to have dry heat but the past several Summers it seems to be more humidity every year. Not like down South but definitely more. Like one day last summer it was 118 degrees and with the humidity added on it was the same as 126°. I always look at the humidity index and it is just slowly creeping up every Summer. And the older I get the harder this heat and humidity is to take.

If you don't need a luggage carrier how about someone jut to bug you?
