Well here it is the week of the big car show and the weather is acting as usual. It was nice most of yesterday for that show and shine and then last night we had thunder storms and it just poured. They have show and shines every day of the week and the forecast is for mixed weather all week. Hopefully it will be nice Saturday for the main show.

It looks like every house in this community is getting new roofs.

There are some cars that have holes in the hoods and tops on one street, and then the next street over ...nothing.

Beat our cars up pretty good.

Well,it looks like the Texas State Government is going to finally solve our speed limit problem.

The Bill has passed the State House and has moved to the Senate.Looks like it will sail on through.

The speed limit will move from the drag azz 80 mph on up to a more reasonable 85 mph.
Add on the normal 5-10 extra mph,we are now in the 95 mph range.

With over 900 miles to get across Texas it will still eat up a day in travel.

I have been watching that on the news as a few other states are starting to complain that there will be to many wrecks and to many deaths plus they will burn more gas. But since it is Texas I don't see where it is going to affect those states. They should stay out of other states business and try to fix their own problems.

Well the weather co-operated and we had nice weather Friday for the cruise and Saturday for the car show. In fact it got up to 73° Saturday afternoon when the sun came through the overcast. All in all it was a good two days for the car crowd.

Dang Steve, sorry to hear you got beat up by that last storm. We got lucky, just as it hit Lavon the hail stopped. It picked back up after it passed us. Wind took out a few trees.

Spring has proven to me that my new trees were killed by the freeze then warm up last fall. They had started to bud again and then it froze again, so I pushed on the one in the front yard and it snapped at the ground level. Completely dead. This cycle I think I am going to hire someone to do it.

Joe,

We have had the same thing here. A bunch of people got in a hurry when we were having nice weather and planted tomatoes and other things and then they froze. Now we are just having overcast and light rains almost every day and it is usually in the 60s. My yards look like hay fields but are way to wet to mow and every day or so we get more light showers.

I wish it was just some garden stuff, but it is both of my trees. About 1/2 of the trees on my street are dead this spring from it. They are all still just too young to have handled that.

This has been an unusual Winter for us out here. Everything from 80 degree weather in January to the 20s and rain, hail, hard winds, and just a mess. It is mostly clear this morning but may rain before the day is over. And they have rain forecast for tomorrow and Thursday.

That's what happens when you get a bunch of old farts and old at hearts together.

Joe,

I really miss my Cobra now more than ever. Yesterday would have been a perfect day for a drive, but I had work around here to do. Then last night we had a thunderstorm that lasted about 5 minutes and it just poured and the stopped. I am glad now that I decided not to mow yesterday as I would have it to do all over again the first day or so of sun we get. And the forecast for today through Friday is scattered, light showers.

We had some thunderstorms here too yesterday with the same scheduled through the week.

Good news is that after all the issues last year, I am about to open a savings account that is strictly a Cobra fund. Probably only be $123/month going into it (my VA check), but it is an actual fund that is separate and hopefully no more big issues needing my fund money. Starting over on the fund is a very positive feeling. I am back at the beginning, but on the path again.
