We got hit hard as well Steve. The hail missed me by less than a mile and I saw this morning several downed trees. I don't know for sure what caused it but 3 transformers exploded simultaneously during the height of the storm. We were without power until shortly after it ended. It wasn't too difficult for them to get us back up, but there was nothing they could do to even begin until it ended. I didn't hear anything about Tornado's on my side of town.

The weather this year, especially the last month or so has been very violent. At my mother in laws home in Irving the hail was the size of baseballs and some were the size of softballs. The damage there is everywhere. However it is not like it is in Joplin, so I guess we all got lucky.
Hope everyone is OK.

The one that was close to us actually touched down in a large field. Only a few barns were damaged. At least that is all that was reported so far.
Yea, we got lucky for sure. This weather is crazy this year. Must be all that Global warming I have been hearing about. LOL (not trying to be political here just a joke!)

We hardly ever have a tornado up here and there have been 6 smaller ones in the last two days. All but one touched down in the open fields but the other one damaged a couple of houses. It is raining lightly right now and is suppose to rain all weekend if the forecast is correct. Which has a 98.7% chance of it being wrong.

After all the bad weather we have had it is nice to see the sun shinning today. I think we will knock off early today and go visit family.
This would be a great day for a cobra ride...if I still had my car.
Sometimes I really miss the car, but the economics just aren't there right now to support one. We do have a golf cart that we have been fixing up. It is a blast to ride around and does not cost near as much as the cobra did. IN fact if I bought the very top of the line brand spanking new golf cart it would still cost less than the induction system I had on the cobra.

Well the Memorial Day weekend is over now and I hope that all of you made it through ok with no injuries or problems. We are still having really weird weather. Saturday it was cold and the wind was blowing very hard all morning. Then around noon the wind quit, the sun came out, and it went right up into the low 80s from the 50s it had been all morning. And of course we had the normal evening Thunderstorm.

Hot here Saturday for my BBQ but I had an outstanding time anyway outside. It was a nice day with some good friends and even made some new ones. One of the rent houses on my block had new tenants moving in and we had them come and join. He is Ex-Navy like myself and we have a very similar personality.

Joe,
He is Ex-Navy like myself and we have a very similar personality. !!! Poor Guy.
We had our nightly thunderstorm last night and it was really wild. It rained hard most of the day yesterday and then went right into the lightening and thunderstorm. This morning it is just misting but is supposed to rain today and tomorrow. I am tired of this. It has been over 2 months since I last started the Cobra and I am afraid to take it out even if the sun is out right now. Two days ago it was cold, low 40s and the wind was blowing like crazy and all overcast. By noon it was sunny and humid and in the low 80s and I can't believe how quickly this weather changes around here. We have never had a year like this.

As if property values haven't been hit hard enough.
At least you will have company on that rail when the normal neighbors run y'all out of town. (could be good for the tar & feather market )

Been crazy here too Steve. This Sunday my church is having "Dadfest" for Fathers day. After service, we have a car show, free BBQ, an inflatable boxing ring (think bounce house for dads with huge inflatable gloves), give aways, and prizes. Along with some Surprises that I don't yet know about. I am one of the judges for the car show.

Just thought I'd stop by and say hi.
Sounds like I will not be visiting you all with that weather.
I like Joe's church Dadfest idea...no one around herer does that.
Cobra is broken anyway...need new pipes.
Later gents.

Tru, No one else has done that around here either. It is a first as far as I know and it is really interesting. I am going to have a blast being a judge I think. It is something that I have never done before and never been asked to do before.

Joe,
You should enjoy doing it. And no matter which cars you may pick someone is going to be angry that you didn't pick theirs. I used to carry a sheet with things to look at and if the owners were by the cars I would try to make it a point to talk to each of them about their cars. That way they felt they all got a fair chance at winning.

Ron it was fun. The funniest part is that just moments before entry closing a guy in a 57 Chevy 2 door coupe pulled in. He just happened to be driving by and knew nothing about the show. He was out for a cruise. Took best in show. Car was immaculate. He breaks it down every winter and cleans/repairs everything. This was the first day he had it out this year so it was perfect. He has over 400,000 miles total on the car since he first built it in the 70s. He has been doing the tear down thing every year since 93 I think he said. It was either 83 or 93. He said it started when he had problems and had to tear part of it down to fix it. Not bad for driving by and taking best of show.

Joe,
Now that is really something. And he must really take care of that car. There aren't as many 1957s around here as there used to be.

Ron,
The car really was nice. I was amazed by it. Here is a picture of it that I found on the Church's facebook page.

How is everyone? I have been busy working on our business. It is so good to be busy again. The alternative stinks.
