It really sucks because the tech stocks are taking a big hit and that is not good for me.

The next few days are going to be critical for what happens to the stock market and economy. Especially if a couple of the other countries have to default or have their credit ratings dropped.

Well the run for a new record for number of 100 degree days in a row has ended at 40.
Only got to 96,kinda felt a little cool.
The old record of 42 survived.
Suppose to get back to 100 tomorrow though. Summer is back !!!

Yea just enough rain in the area to keep it below 100° and make sure we raise the humidity up to new heights.

It sounds as if Texas is destined to become the next Sahara Desert. Better start importing your camels now.

You don't know how right you are Ron. Labor day weekend camping trip to the lake is now officially cancelled. Boat docks are closed, ramps are closed, no fishing (fish population is rapidly declining in the drought), no camp fire, cooking limited to only small confined camp stoves in the parking areas only. About all we could do is go swimming, so might as well just stay home for that and go to the pool. I was really looking forward to some fishing with good friends too.

Joe,
That is to bad but you guys have really been having a bad Summer. Ours hasn't been nearly that bad but we have dust so deep it is like walking on the beach in places. I think we have only had abut 22 days of over the 100 mark so far and none of them in our normal 115+ range. But we do have more humidity than we used to have. I much prefer the higher dry temperatures than 105 with a lot of humidity.

Rain, Glorious Rain. Supposed to keep raining all morning too. Thankfully finally a break. Hopefully it lasts for a little while. Going out to a swap meet today, but I don't even care that it is raining.

Joe,
Take extra water. You may be able to swap it for something good.

Ron, it was actually a good time, but everything I found the guys did not want to negotiate on price. I would have picked up a complete set of gear wrench flex head ratcheting wrenches but he wanted $5/wrench. I had found from 5/8-3/4 (7 wrenches total, and 9mm-17mm all 9 sizes so he wanted $80 for them (all used). I offered him $60 and he just reached for them and said no, move on. So I did.
I did find a die cast 2010 Mustang GT that is the same color as mine. It is a bit dirty and it had a paint chip in it, but for $11 I picked it up anyway. Too hard to pass it up when it is the same model and color as my car.

Joe,
Finding that Mustang was great. You can always fix the paint chip. I tried for years to get a die cast model of the 69 Cobra and even called the major die cast makers to see if they would make me one. They all told me no as there was no market for them because so few were made and most people thought they are Torinoes anyway. I even talked to a guy at the big car show here that advertised he would make a die cast of your car, but when he looked at it he said no way, it has to many differences from the Torino GT and I would have to fabricate some pieces. Darn I would like to have a die cast of it as it would for sure be one of a kind.

I like it that it is actually a 10 so it has the GT logo on the side and not the 5.0 logo.

Greetings.
I have new pipes on the cobra.
Steve, if I were a bird, I would not live around you.
Joe, sounds like a bad event - nice you got the car.
Ron, what if you get a model of the 1969 torino and made changes to make it into the cobra?
Wow, it is good to be back on the road.

The "Event" is there every weekend year round. It is a flea market/swap meet grounds actually. It is called Traders Village, but I just couldn't find anyone willing to deal.

Hey everyone. I have been trying to fix the STS. The radiator went out, then the window regulator now I am working on the motor and trans mounts.
We have decided to keep the car for a little while longer so I am fixing the little gremlins. Hard to beat a paid for caddy that gets 24-25 MPG. Even the new 'little' cars don;t get that kind of mileage. Besides the starting point is $40K. I am not ready to spend that sort of money on a new car when this market is soooooo unstable right now.

Well,we missed setting a new record on the number of 100 degree days in a row by 2 stinking days. String stopped at 40.
We have had 51 total days at 100 though.More coming.
Today did set a new record for the number of days the low temp was 80 or above. 40 days. More coming.
Good news is that today the average historic low started going down. 75,down from 76.

Tru,
I tried that and the only die cast model of the 1969 Fairlane that I can find is of the Talladega Cobra. I did find one Torino GT as that is the only Torino Ford made in 1969. The Cobras were listed as Fairlane Cobras or just Ford Cobras. My order sheet has Fairlane Cobra on it with NASCAR off a Little bit from the cars description.

Hi Steve,
It is still hot and dusty here but at least not as hot as Texas has been. Right now our worst problem is the heat and dust mixed with falling tree sap. I washed my windshield yesterday and the car sits under my big carport. By the time I drove 3 blocks there was already tree sap all over it again and of course the dust started sticking to it. Really makes it hard to see when you are driving toward the sun.
