Steve,
You are fortunate. Friday the high here was just 88° and humid, down from 112° and humid. Yesterday it was back up to 104° and humid with a hot wind blowing. I wish it would rain here for about two days.

Yea,nothing like last year for sure. It got to 105* yesterday. It also rained here for the last two days a little and cooled it back down but we still got above 100 both days.
Its OK though, all is good right now. How have you been Ron? Hows the coupe coming along? Will you ever get it back?

Steve,
Things haven't been going well for me for over 6 months now. My nerves are near the breaking point and my medical bills have bankrupted me. I stay at home as much as I can and just don't even think much about cars any more.

Sorry to hear that Ron, we will put you on our prayer list at church.
I know about those doctor bills, gees they are getting waaaay outta control. Took the sweet wife to the doctor last week and spent over $1,000 to be told something we already knew and in fact told him in the first place. He still wanted a CT scan.
Pitiful, but I honestly believe it will get ALOT worse.

Steve,
I am sure that it is going to get a lot worse. Even a lot of the illegals are leaving here. I don't know how this weather is affecting the crops down around the Fresno area, but up here people are starting to compare this area to the 1930s dust bowl. And I guess the corn crops back in the other states are not doing at all well. It is supposed to cool down to around 101° today and stay that way for a day or so. I hope they are right.
The Coupe is starting to take some shape now. It will still be awhile before they have it rebuilt as it had to be done from the frame up.
Take care and stay cool.
Ron

Ron sorry to hear of your troubles. As Steve said, this year has not been bad at all here.

Joe,
We have had one big break and that is that there have been no major fires...yet. But it is still so dry and hot that it could happen any time. They have the spotter planes in the air almost every day watching for any sign of smoke. But it could be worse.

Fred,
We went by and supported Chick-Fil-A and your right, the crowds were great and everyone was in a great mood. The service was fantastic, even though they were packed to capacity. We had to park a long way and walk to even get in the parking lots were so full.

Sorry to change the subject but for the first time in a week most of the smoke has moved out of here from the big fire just 4 miles North of us. They spent yesterday moving equipment and personnel out of this camp to go fight the other big fire that is burning just South of us. Maybe now I can go outside without coughing and gagging on the smoke. It was really hard on people that have trouble breathing.

Eddy,
It is nice to walk outside without choking. And we had a cool day yesterday as it only got to 96° but it is supposed to be back in the 103/105 range today and possible 110+ by the weekend. They have a mop up crew working on the fires now but are worried about wind coming up and the super dry conditions around here. Just one spark and we could be back in worse shape than before. Bottled water was a huge seller while this was going on and of course this store here jacked their prices way up. But they are really high anyway as they are the only one in town. Most people that want to buy more than one or two items goes to Redding where it is still expensive but about 1/2 to 2/3rds of what this store charges.

Well it was 110° and smoky here yesterday. They have a big fire up near Lassen and we had two small ones in the Redding area yesterday. The heat and wind up at the big Lassen fire are causing a lot of problems but so far it hasn't gotten into any of the small towns there and was burning away from most of them. But you have to check hourly if you plan to go anywhere to see if any of the roads are closed due to fire. And we still have a week of this high temperature in the forecast.

Cobra Car Covers
I recently purchased an AC Autokraft Cobra and I want to purchase a car cover. I live in the San Diego area so I have little worries about rain or snow. Does anyone have a recommendation for me? Thanks, Tom i

Tom,
There are a lot of places to get a car cover like you want. You might try Griots or do what I did when I had mine and have one custom made. Mine was made to fit the full length roll bar and was very soft inside. Also I had the Cobra Emblem stitched in the front part of it which made it easy for a dummy like me to tell which end went where.

We have fires all around us and have had for three weeks. They just about have the three big ones contained if the wind doesn't start again. Smoke has been terrible and the hospitals report over an 80% increase of people with breathing problems. Some days I couldn't see across the intersection to see what color the light was. I wear one of the dist type masks but that can't begin to keep out all of the tiny particles in this air. Boy, will I ever be happy when this is over and the smoke finally clears out. I have a sore throat and have had for two weeks and can hardly talk at times from having to get out in this crap.

Howdy,
We had a fire about 50 miles north of us about 2 weeks ago but that's about it except for small fires.
We finally got a little rain and the grass has greened up a little.
Got a few bare spots that will need to be reseeded IF it ever rains again.
