I am staying here in North Texas. I was looking at an 82 acre plot that over 55 acres is woodland. It has 3 ponds on it. Would give me all the land I need to go hunting and allow me more than enough to farm for what I want to do. I figure I could also lease out to a few hunters for a little income as well. I don't know if I am doing that though. I also found a smaller plot (10 acres) closer to where I am now with a pond on it. Bad thing is it is almost the same price as the 82 acres, but that is about 1.5 hours further out than I am now.

In other news, I sold the Mustang and bought a 2nd truck this weekend. If I am going to do this, it makes more sense to have 2 trucks.

Joe,

Have you made any decision yet on which if either of the Farm plots you may buy? It can be a lot of hard work, but also relaxing and enjoyable too. And don't forget, you will need some cattle.

There are certain benefits to having 50 acres or more when it comes to firearms....

The 82 acres with woods and three ponds I'd bet you could get into this after you settle in......

I want the 82, but the banks are not liking that I have a house now that isn't already sold or rented to someone else. We may have to rent a house, so we can rent this one out, then get the property and move. Not sure if we can swing it all, with me still doing my school until June. I may be forced to wait until after I finish up the first of June and look at doing it then. It would make things a lot easier, but I am afraid this property will be gone by then. We will see how it all works out.

Fred,
That was a big part of why I wanted it. I can do my hunting right on my own property. It is big enough to support deer and the ponds will attract ducks during duck season. Hogs will always be plentiful and make great target practice, plus coyote bait afterward.

Fred,

I hope that wasn't Frenchy after all she went through with you. Turtle would miss her.

As I know you are well aware, the competition in the Ho business is intense. In the Ho Frog arena it is down right cut throat, pun intended.

Some say it's dog eat dog. I say it's frog eat frog.

Well the Coupe had it's first start up yesterday and sounds good. Now on to the dyno shop and then the body shop. A few minor things to take care of and it should be ready to go.

Fred,

Dyno was finished yesterday and the body shop should be through today or tomorrow and then it is new tires and some minor things such as testing it on a few runs to see if any leaks show up and the air conditioner and heater work and it should be good to go. The engine was detuned some to make sure it would run well on pump gas as I am tired of having to buy racing gas for my cars. I believe the dyno shop told John that they cold get another 45/50 horse out of the engine by tuning it to the max and upping the fuel pressure but I am happy with the power now and it is less likely to break also since it isn't pushed to the max and I won't be doing any racing with it. The dyno results and charts are posted on the other site if you want to take a look at them.

Well the big April Nites Car show will soon be here and the weather is so changeable no one knows what to expect. It has been raining and cold but the first 3 days of this week are supposed to get close to the 80s. We have a few from the Sacramento area that plan to come up and I hope the weather will be as nice as it was last year.

Fred,

I just got the new headliner installed in the 69 and I need to take it out and drive it as it has been setting for over two months now. But in this lousy weather and with damp streets it is a headache to drive with those old original tires as they will break loose at the least touch of the throttle on damp pavement.

Fred,

I think I saw just the woman for you at the car show. Nice looking, about 5' 10" tall, maybe in her late 30s and she had a really great car that she had in the show. She wasn't maried either.

Well now. It is good to stop by and say hello.

Freg, I thought the local police had busted you and the frog for prostitution. Keep up the good work.

Get the land! I have less than that and I hunt the deer, grow the crops and enjoy being out on my land.

So now...Ron is going to be out on the road...hmm. Gentlemen, we should alert the media and - police. LOL

Steve has found salvation in getting paid for doing what he does best - building. A wish for all your success.

Tru,

Good to hear from you. I hope that everything is going well. I am not out on the road, just went up to the car show to take some pictures and look around. I sold my Cobra a long time ago and then the Comet about a year ago so the only cars I have left are the Taurus and the 69 NASCAR Cobra which I hardly ever take out any more due to the people wanting to crawl all over it. I don't drive much any more at all. I have had the Taurus for 1 1/2 years and have put just over 1,000 miles on it. It is a 2008 and had just over 34K on it when I bought it.

I see Jamo took exception to my "political" thread. Hmmm....

Well, he is probably right to keep the forum clean and without extra adventure.

So, there isn't the activity there used to be in the lounge.

I wonder if the whole gear-head thing has gone the way of the dodo.

I know I have been working at a variety of things - much is farm and country living.

Making new elevated plantings - got one done, one in the works and one more planned. We are planting corn up front without fences - an experiment in animals. And I have four trees in "desperation" - those will need some TLC until they recover.

We have so much water, our forward swamp/pond is oushing up into the trees surrounding it. I think today is the last day of rain for a few days - thank goodness.

Well, that is the report for right now.

Tru,

I think the economy has really hurt the cars and collectors. There are a lot of really nice Cobras for sale out here for really reasonable prices. We used to have 14 here when I had mine and within a year after I sold mine we don't have a single one around here. I only saw 4 at the big show earlier this month. And people aren't traveling so far to the shows either so several of the smaller ones that we used to have around here have shut down.

Good luck with the farming. I know that is a lot of work. In some ways I miss it could be relaxing even though I was working my butt off.
