Here is a picture of the driveway as he was finishing up. I am going to have him come back and widen the part as it nears the house to make it easier to turn around and get in and out, but it is fine for now.
Here is a link to the album so you can browse the few pics I did take during the process. Got a little more to do so some more pics will be added.

Joe,
That is really looking nice. A lot better than the first pictures you posted. What a difference the gravel makes.

Today they are coming to build the shed and I am having the internet connection setup today. This weekend I will do some final yard work before we move in and then next weekend we are moving in. I am going to still have a lot of clean up stuff to do, but that will be done over the coming months.

Joe,
That is great news, but you know that you will never get everything caught up. I have been trying for 35 years and still haven't managed to do it.

Yea there is always something more to do. I was referring to the over grown brush in the fence lines and trees. There are a couple of too busted to be anything but scrap metal old farm equipment pieces and parts to a couple of trailer frames that I need to move out of there, maybe if I am lucky get a little money for the metal. They are in the line where I want to setup a little shooting range.

As a side note, I got 1/2 the walkway done, shed is built, I built a ramp to the door, started to clean the toilets too. I wanted to get them clean and the shed anchored down, but that did not get done.

Joe,
You are making good progress. Just don't expect it to get done in a few days. Drag the old farm equipment out and sell it to some of the collectors. They had an old Fordson Tractor over here at the Antique place some time ago that was so rusty I would have been afraid to ride on for fear the steel wheels would collapse. It wa there for 2 days and sold for $7,500 dollars.

I am not sure that I will be able to get anything from a collector. One thing is an old hay fork that is broken. The fork is in one location while the main body has a tree growing through the middle of it. Going to have to cut the tree and likely the frame as well to get it out.
Right now my goal is to get the front yard area cut down some more, get the shed anchored down and get the front walkway done this weekend. With those done, we will be ready to move in next weekend. I am taking it one weekend at a time and setting project goals.

You would be surprised at what some collectors will buy or take. I like your idea of setting goals instead of just looking at getting the whole project finished. That way you reach one point and move to the next and you don't get discouraged. You always have that feeling of having accomplished something.

Joe,
That is really looking good. Also a nice sized shed that you have there. What is that in the ground to the left of the shed. Almost looks like a culvert end.

Wow Joe ! That is sure looking good !
Easy to see all the hard work you have been putting into your land.
How much of that land is yours to keep cut ? Property line run following the power lines on the side ?
Maybe just me but I believe you & your bride are way ahead with this land rather than a cobra.

Ron,
If you are talking about the larger pile to the left, it is a small round hay bale that was left there. I have several of them to clean up. If you are talking right at the back edge of the shed, it is my trailer tongue sticking out.
Fred,
The property line does run along the power poles. I have a rectangular lot, 200' wide by 435.6' deep. The house is right at the 1/2 mark back. The pictures with the shed were taken from right at the road

Joe,
I agree with Fred about being way ahead with the land. You can get the Cobra later and in the meantime you will be getting the place really fixed up and nice. I am amazed at how much better it looks now than in the first pictures of it you posted. Congratulations on doing this and I know you won't regret it. You can work off a lot of stress doing farm work and don't even have to think about it.

Now we are talking.
Joe, great pictures.
Ron, I am more busy than a squirrel on an 8 lane freeway.
Hello all.

Tru,
Nice to see you peek in once in awhile and if you are busy that is good. Once Joe gets his farm going you will have a lot to talk about.

Yea I did move in, but still unpacking and setting up. The country life is enjoying me more right now. Got a bad ant and Chigger problem. I have treated twice, and it is much much better, but I need to hit it again. It is so nice to sit outside again in the evening and listen to the silence and sounds of nature.

Darn Joe,
It has been so long since I was back in that area that I had forgotten about chiggers. I still think of the ticks once in awhile. I guess that is the one redeeming factor about up here. It is so bad they won't even try to live in this area. I guess the heat and fires scare them away.
