My son is here close by. I am very glad he enjoys working on the ranch with me. He says it helps him unwind after being in a office all week.
Here's Josh "unwinding" last weekend.

Clearing some cedar

Nice. I am really excited for the week he gets here. It will go by too fast.

Fred,

That is a great picture of Josh. And how were you unwinding while he was doing the work?

Josh cuts the cedar and I burn it.

The fire in this photo is bigger than it looks.I really had to back off from this one !
Thinking there might be a little pyromania in me.

Fred,

A fire like that out here right now would get you a lot more than a picture. But your place is looking good and you seem to be really enjoying just being able to take it easy and relax. Great for you.

I put a lot of research into this map this weekend.

Nothing but the truth here...

Fred,

Now that is an interesting map. And from what I have read and seen on TV Texas does have the best barbecue in the country. I always wanted to try some of it when I was working but never had time as I passed through. Feel free to send me a big box of any kind.

Ron

I do have to say that even the most basic/chain stores here have some pretty good BBQ. When you find the hole in the wall places, it is just amazing.

Joe,

Texas does have some redeeming factors. They have you and Fred. I sure do miss Warren and his posts. Also Kristen, Freddie Douglas, and others that were good people. I keep in touch with them via email.

I still read the posts in the forums but am afraid to post anything as I just don't feel like having all of the fighting started.

Well I took the 69 Cobra out for a drive today and went down South of Redding to Bill Emerson's shop to see what he has going on. He has a couple of cars that are going to be nice. One of his Super Cars and one Cobra that he is getting pretty much done. I took a couple of pictures but haven't downloaded them yet.

Glad you got it out. I think that I am going to spend some time on some back roads next week when Derrick gets home.

We thought maybe about 2 weeks ago. We heard what sounded like a cats roar but only once and nothing else when we listened. You hearing them at your place?

My son heard one a couple of months ago. I hadn't until last Saturday night.

There was the super moon deal and I was out enjoying it light up the hills.
The first two "screams" I was wondering if I had really heard what I thought I had. There were no other sounds except the summer night bugs. Then the cat let out two more and there was no doubt then.
I was up on my hill and it was coming from down in the valley. It was really great to hear that. My first !

Hey Joe,

Anything new going on at the farm? Nothing here but heat and quite a bit of hot wind blowing most of the time.

Hey, that is great. Soon you can skip the grocery stores except for a few things that you may want. How is your water situation there?
