Next, they are going to make a show about a guy named Ron who used to live near water...in California. It is bound to be a classic, but shot in some area that actually has water.

Tru,

The frogs and Turtles are packing and moving away from up here. Per the so called scientists California is going to run out of water within the next year. I know that if they do let more water out of Shasta like the environmentalists want, the lake will be virtually dry within 3 months at most. Also there will be major electric shortages as they are already talking about shutting down one of the generators and if they have to let more water out to keep the darn fish happy, then they are going to have to shut down more generators soon. And the environmentalists will be the first to start whining. The houseboats in the video are stranded as they can't get them out of that cove. There are other videos that show houseboats up on blocks as the water is completely gone from where those docks used to be. Also videos of Lake Meade and that Arizona may be cut off from water soon.

Tru,

This is just going to get worse I fear as the temperatures keep going up. We are having regular 110/116 degree days now and with some humidity. I think they said the heat index one day was around 121 degrees.

Well we had two light showers in the last few days. Not enough to even settle the dust, but at least it cooled down a lot. They were really worried about lightening in the mountains, but it looks as if we got by with just a couple of small fires.

Well I was going to go to Weaverville yesterday and take some pictures but I stopped in Old Shasta as they are working on the road from there to Weaverville and said there would be one to three hour delays. Old Shasta is the original stage coach stop from here to the coast and was also a gold town, but was basically deserted in 1888. The courthouse and museum was the old jail and they have they old cells in it and out back is the gallows where they hung the last person hung in this county. He had robbed the stage coach.

Well we had our first day here yesterday that I could see the sun because of the heavy smoke. The wind blew most of it our of here at least for now but we still have to many fires burning and the smoke is beginning to move back in. This has not been a good summer so far with the lack of water and all of the fires.

Damn - I need to move in with Fred and help with those flags!

Ron, worry when plants start to cover the ground between the trees and the water.

Hi guys!

Hi Tru,

Long time since I have heard anything from you. How are things going? Well I hope. We have finally gotten a break in the weather and the smoke is almost all out of here as we had some wind and that really helped. Do you still do anything with the Cobra?

Congratulations on your Cobra. You will enjoy it a great deal. You should post this in the New Members Forum also as you will get a lot of encouragement there.

Be careful if using this around your new car.

I went to the small car show in Cottonwood yesterday. Greg's Cobra was one of the best cars there.

Coupe at show

GT40 is coming along - I am taking my time.

Two new novels out; Bloody Bill and The Sons of Pythar - both released by my new publisher...Sage Press.

Hi Tru,

Thanks for the compliment on the Coupe. When you get your GT-40 finished be sure to post some pictures. I have a friend here who has his ready for the 2nd paint job when they get back from Alaska. The first one he had done last year was a real mess and he has to completely sand it all down and have it done again. He was really ticked about that first paint job as the paint started to peel and bubble up after about a week. Lousy prep work I would guess.

Tru,

12 days without Ron??? Yea, I am getting old and my back is out of place since last Wednesday and I am not getting around to well right now. Also today I have to go in for laser surgery on my eye. So I haven't been out doing much the last week or so. Getting old sucks when you have injuries from playing sports in your younger years.

Hey Tru,

Are you still working on the GT-40? I took the Coupe for a drive on the Iron Mountain Road last Friday. Weather was overcast and just in the mid 80s. I made a video of the drive but won't post it here as no one looks at this thread any more.
