The 90 minute ride before supper was not enough. So another hour ride after supper, even though its a scorching 71 ºF here.

Warren,
You would love the drive along 101 which follows the coast all the way from Southern Calif. to Northern Calif. They have a tunnel at Goleta which makes great sounds. But not a lot of hills and curves, just nice scenery and the ocean along side all the way. And some old light houses at Sylvin Harbor. Also no 118 degree temperatures to fight with. Stop at Clam Beach and have a good breakfast.

Warren,
Happy belated birthday. There wil come a time when they seem to come every week. I ran out of numbers to count mine years ago.
Tru,
Have a great vacation and tell us about all of your experiences. Heck, come out here and enjoy some heat for a change.

Warren, Happy belated Birthday.
Where did Tru go to on his vacation ?
My son and I are down on the South Texas coast for a month. Temp runs about 85* with a nice breeze off the water.Lots of near naked young women.
Teaching Josh to drive a stick shift on the beach. He is the only person (besides Subaru shop) besides me to drive my WRX STi.
Figured it would be safer to learn on the sand.Easier on the drivetrain for sure.
Yesterday was his first time.Did better than I thought he would.

Fred, it's vacation from work.
I don't go back until thrusday.
What is everyone doing for the 4th?????
We have a big cookout and a bunch of people sit in back as we set off fireworks and make comments. Been doing it for six years ( I think it has been longer, but I know it has been at least six years ).
Fred, how old is your son?

I am staying home as it is to hot and humid to do much. Just ran the mower over the yards and it isn't even 8 o'clock yet and the humidity is so bad the dust that flew up into the air fell back to the ground as mud. I came in and took a COLD shower and am still just soaking wet from the humidity. I hope it stays below the 100 mark today as they said it would.
I don't know if they will have the fireworks over at the dam or not. they have pretty well shut everything around there down since 9/11. You still have to apply 2 days ahead of time for a pass just to drive across it. Ridiculous.

hi! Just got home from the Dallas meet. Very nice, and home before 10. It's too hot for a lunch cruise, so I left at 6:40.... Met up with a couple of guys, gave one a ride. Met at the IHOP, and had a good time.
Off to pick up boys from Scout camp, and pick up supplies for Peter's eagle project.
We leave at 8 am for Colorado. Yup, tomorrow! Have I packed a bag? no. Have I located the suitcases?? no. Will I be doing zillion loads of laundry of gross camp stuff, just to repack for CO? yes.
seeya!
oh, and Warren, I'm sorry I missed it was your birthday yesterday. I posted right after you yesterday, and missed it. Sorry!
Hope it was a good one, and that you enjoyed your CORNED BEEF!

Tru
Along the ocean drives, and all the beaches. Hull, Cohasset, Hingham, Wemouth, Duxbury.
I drove down one of the most expensive roads within 100 miles of Boston, namely Jeruselum Rd. All of the houses are waterfront or water views. A fixer-upper starts about $2M
This one is probably about $3 to 4M

nice pic, Warren. At first glance I think the house is too busy, but overall I like it. I bet the views from inside are really nice.
alrighty, guys, leaving for Colorado in an hour or so. i'm checking out for awhile. Probably post from the public library if I get the chance. Seeya next weekend!

oh well. It's family 'relaxing' time, right??? Everybody else relaxes; mom still cooks and washes clothes!

Is that the house that you are going to buy and convert into a garage for your cars? Add an elevator for upper level storage and you can have them all nice and warm in the Winters.

Nice Pic Warren. That is a big house.
