hi, Steve. Always a treat to have you pop in and join us!
Wow! What a big day in our life. David just left, (at 7) heading down to Scouts to take Peter to Philmont. He'll be home two weeks from yesterday! It's amazing that he'll only need such a small amount of stuff for the hike. Darn, I think I forgot to tell him how to get a weeks worth of wearing out of one set of underwear. Guess that's what he'll learn on the trek......
'moody boy' has actually been pretty pleasant this summer- even with all his tasks and obligations to working on his Eagle Project. And, when he gets back we have to finish Driver's Ed stuff AND, he has a reading assignment for school! The best part of the trip to Philmont for him???? Earning his 'fly fishing' merit badge!
Well off to do a lot of tasks, as I'm dropping the other 3 on Friday with in-laws, then heading out for a scrapbook retreat! whoooo-hoooo!

I have noticed in several posts that 'hot links' are appearing in text- why is that??? Is anyone else having that issue??? Like my post above- ' fly fishing ' is in hot link blue, with a line under it. I've seen it several times the last few days. Am I doing something different??? Do ya'll see it, too??
K
ps. it did it again! Even with the spaces!

Kristen,
No, I don't see any Hot Link Blue on your post. All I see is 'fly fishing'.

Warren,
I am glad you said the color blind thing as I was afraid to but thought about it. And the underline I can't see either. I think all of that scrap booking glue is getting to her.

Well I am back and no evacuation. We have a big fire going and they were going to evacuate my block but stopped two blocks short as the fire has changed directions and is now going toward the lake and those canyons. I have been watching the borate bombers and helicopters until it got so smoky I had to come inside. If it gets into the canyons over by the lake and dam, they will have a huge mess as that area is just completely covered with dead brush and trees that the tree huggers stopped them from removing two years ago. Then add the wind the fire generates to that and if it becomes a crown fire and we will have a big disaster. Everyone around here has been afraid of this for the past two years and especially with the heat and humidity we are having now. But the smoke has actually caused the temperature to drop as the sun is blocked.

You all have not seen her scrapbooks, they are really sort of fun to look at.
I mean, I looked at the car ones and she has pictures of all kinds of stuff about those cars. When she got them, before they were hers and events since she has taken ownership. If I ever wanted to write a story about Kristen and her cars, I could use the scrapbooks and add words.
Have we landed yet???

Tru,
Talking of Kristen's cars, I finally got a picture of Warren on one of his famous drives. No wonder the Corvette guys like to have him around.

Thanks Ron for the new Avitar.
Glad to hear that the fire has stopped coming your way. Stay KOOL. Its all the way up to 85 ºF here, and the humidity is high. Guess I'll have to wait until 7 PM when its cooler to go for a ride.

now that's a cute car! (and perfect avatar, Warren!)
thanks, Tru! I spend a lot of time on the books, and appreciate your kind comments! Basically, all one has to do is look in my gallery with hundreds (!) of pictures, then chase down some of my 'story threads' and that's about the same thing as the scrapbook.
Not decorated quite as well, but mostly the same pictures.
wow, Ron! those fires sound close. We had a chance for a drop of rain this afternoon, but it's 4:30 now, and although it's cloudy, not looking much like rain. Still got the hair dryer effect going on- hot wind blowing all day.
I can hardly wait for this weekend! I am going to work on scrapbooks from our trip to Sweden, July 04.

Kristen,
It sounds like you have spyware on your computer. When you post something with certain phrases, like fly fishing, the spyware will put a link on that phrase to a fly fishing site. If you want to check, Panda active scan will search for that stuff but I don't know if it removes it. Ad-aware and spybot search and distroy will get rid of them.

Tru,
It will probably be the same here as when the heat leaves we will either go straight into rain or cold. Maybe a week or so in September that will be ok for driving it. August, which in normally out hottest month is still to come.

tru, isn't your best driving weather coming up?? Wouldn't August & September be perfect?? I'm sorry to hear you're putting her up!
thank goodness Brent knew what I was talking about!!!
Yes, Brent, I ran the 3 spyware thingys I have, and it came up with a lot of junk! I have to do that everytime my boys get on this computer.
I showed #2 all the stuff, and he was amazed. Once I ran the adware removals, the hot links left.... thanks for the 'verification' that I'm NOT crazy!
Lots to do today! Up to school for a project I got asked to help with yesterday. Actually, I think I'm taking care of 4 things while I'm up there.
I'm excited for Peter! They should be gathering in the base area in a while to go over all their supplies. Get a bunch more stuff to carry for 60 miles, then heading out later! I hope there isn't any lightning!

Kristen,
None of us thought that you were crazy. We all just figured that like any computer geek, you would routinely run your spy-ware and virus checks. Brent must know you better than we do. Why not look and see where they are going on the net to get all of that stuff. I don't go to a lot of sites, but any time I do go to one that I haven't been to, I run three spy-ware programs and then at least once a week do full virus scan of my computers. Do you have a pop up blocker?

I run spyware checks pretty often. Virus scan is run everyday. I just hadn't noticed the hot links before. Pretty annoying! I check to see where the boys go. Generally, #1 to 'city of heroes' (video games), star wars games etc., looking for 'cheat codes'. #2- to AIM ( aol instant messaging) and 'my space'. ( I have blocked Xanga- don't like that one, and I am constantly monitoring myspace)
always sumtin'!!!!
