Tru,
This was a mess and then right in the middle of posting I got dumped and couldn't get back on the site until just now. No problem going to any other site so it was something to do with CC. Just got the can't find server error.
Kristen,
Never ever try to force a wrench when it is in a bind. They come loose with horrible speed and any fingerws wrapped around them are going to suffer.

Glad you are semi-OK. No reply necessary. If I had your address I'd send you some wonderful pills to take the edge off.
You had many of us worried. Glad to hear from you.
I'd give you the single finger salute, but I'm not sure which one to use.
Take care and hope you feel better. I'm going for a short ride. See ya.

Welcome back Ron !
Without a doubt we all miss you when you aren't online here and worry about you.
I could say we miss you here on this thread because of your : wisdom, insight ,humor ,helpful ideas and stories.
But I won't blow smoke up your a$$ by doing that.
The real reason is that we are creatures of habit and don't want to change.
We are just used to giving you a hard time and want to keep it that way.

It's no different if Fred is missing for a week. Although the thread would be less colorful, we all need to have Fred's input.
Ron, After your fingers are mended, you mighjt want to get some driving in, Warren is covering us right now, but I think in the next month, he might not be able to go for the number of drive he is now.

Fred,
Yes I missed all of you during my down time. Any finger on the left hand would do as they are all hurt, just two of them badly.
I could say we miss you here on this thread because of your : wisdom, insight ,humor ,helpful ideas and stories.
You are getting to be as big of a liar as the rest of us.

Tru,
Are you getting any driving in now? Our weather seems to be turning pretty fast now toward Fall. Still warm in the afternoons but the mornings are actually quite cool. Of course after what we have had here, anything below 70 degrees is cold right now. There is an Old Timers reunion in the Anderson River Park Saturday for the former Telephone company workers from all over and I may go by for a few minutes but I won't know any of them. But it is just a 25 minute drive down the freeway and the park is pretty nice and right along side the Sacramento River. But most important is the food is free.

Ron,
The car is coming along....no date yet for an engine start ....still waiting on the fellow to weld the intake system and the EM system to get here....been cutting holes....mounting stuff....I have a student from ERAU helping...he is a french kid from Guadeloupe and he is a WHIZ with fiberglass  ....he fixed the hole in the trunk, that we drilled in the wrong place, an 1 1/4" hole, and it is as smooth as a babys behind....you should have seen him curled up in the trunk, he is about 6'1" and skinny .....he had to crawl in with a flashlight and pencil to mark hinge locations, since we tried 3 times doing it the way the book says, and it would not work right.....I spoke with a SB builder in Mississippi who is GREAT for techinical assistance and she said that her husband does it that way...she also told me to use the BOOK in moderation and APPLY COMMON SENSE LIBERALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for asking................Earl

No transmission. I have everything but the disc, just waiting for it to arrive and then, I will be starting the conversion.
Fall is coming, I have several farm things to take care of to get ready for snow. Tree cutting, equipment checks and refurbishing. Heck, last night I fixed one of the mowers, I have two others that are dead.
My international is dead, needs bearings.
Do you really want the list???

Tru,
By the time you start mowing it wil lbe snowing. How do you get the cut grass out from under the snow? Fall is the time to work on the car as it isn't normally good driving weather.
Earl,
Glad the car is coming along so well. And the build manuals can be a little off at times. A few years ago a guy here got a kit of some kind and he really followed every instruction right down to measuing everything several times. The frame was even marked where he was supposed to weld the cowel bar and he had several of us make sure he had it perfectly aligned with the marks before he welded it and then he did a great job. I believe his remark was, "That won't ever come loose." All was great until the evening he asked 6 of us to come over and help sit the body on. He had the frame and everything complete and it was on a low wooden thing he built just to hold it high enough for the hubs to be off the ground. Well try as we may, we could not get the wheel hubs to fit into the wheel wells in the body. They were all four hitting the front of the body wheel wells. After finding another person with that kit, he found out the marks for welding the cowel bar were 6" to far back and it had to be taken out and moved forward. Boy, was he right about the great welding job and that it would never come loose.

If it wasn't raining I'd go for a ride
Supposed to rain for the next 3 days .... woe is me!
Tru - tree cutting? What's that? Oh, I have one tree in my yard, and its a Japanese Maple. Why would I want to cut it? Cost me $75.
Nice to hear about the trials and tribulations of Ron. Get those fingers healthy. Its tough driving with broken fingers.
Guess I'll go down in the cellar and do something. Or maybe I'll take a nap!

I suppose all that rain was the same stuff that has been sitting over me for the past two weeks.
One tree? I cut about twenty to thirty a year.
Ron's fingers will be healed in no time. Then he's going to be the guy whose doing all the driving as we sit in white winter,

Warren,
We have a light wind blowing this morning and they are actually saying we may have some rain tomorrow. It is somewhat overcast today. Hope that you get your 3 days of rain as I know you need it. According to the source you will have a lot of snow this Winter and it will start early.

Warren,
You call that skift snow. Just wait until the real snow comes. The 10 to 15 foot stuff. I don't think it ever got less than about 13 feet deep in Lassen Park this Summer. I will have to talk to the Mt. Shasta goddess about arranging for you to have a lot of snow soon.

Nice picture Warren. Did you stand on the other side of the street or actually go inside?

That BS about that girl you told us before isn't working. She's staring in more and more of your pictures. So, it's okay, you tell us you are hauling around your daughter on your rides.
I have 3500 miles in three years, you have driven more than I have. But, I am working to change that.
Ron, how is that talk with the Mt Shasta goddess coming??? We really should ask for ice as well...get the full effect.
