We are now 12 hours without power.
You have to love the power company.
I'm on four hours, off four hours. If this keeps up, I think I am going to get one of those auto-run systems.

hi, Fred. Didn't come to Colleen's party last night???!!! It was fun! Met Gary S.'s wife for the first time. Also, Matt's wife was there. (2nd time to see her)
One jello shot. (just to say I've had one in my life) no big deal. Now the guys that enjoyed several....??? hmmmm.
It's a long way up there! Near southfork ranch. Their new house looks really nice.
Well gotta go! off to church today. (paying pennance for a couple of sins. ) - nothing to do with last night, though.

Tru,
Does your power go on and off a lot or is this just an unusual thing? If it is off a lot during the Winter you may be ahead to get a generator that will carry what you need. Another option, is if you have a neighbor that has power tap into his. I did that a few years ago when we had the big snow and no power for three days. But that only happens around here about once every 10 years.

Every year we loose power at least three or four times. Part of living on a farm.
Our generator runs well, but we can't run any air conditioners or ovens.
The whole street is out. Been out now for almost a day. It will be at least another day or two before it's back on.

Are you sure you paid your bill?
Cleaned the storm windows and put them up on the back porch. Temp outside was 48 ºF but it got up to 75 ºF inside the porch. I have seen temps above 90 ºF in the back porch with outside temp below freezing. Working on a differential temp switch with a fan in one of the windows between porch and house. Hopefully will save some heating oil ... at least when the sun is out this winter.
Or maybe go down to Fla again for 4 months and leave the thermostat at 45 ºF like I did 2 years ago.

You could always burn some of those 1 dollar bills that Ron and I sent you a while back. Or drink a fifth of Scotch ... that will keep you warm all night.
Time for a fire in the fireplace????

What a pain this has to be for you and your family.
I guess y'all will be camped out next to the fireplace or wood stove.
Sorry to hear it.Don't like anybody being cold when they don't choose to be.

Tru,
I have one of those Mr. Heaters that works on a propane bottle and that is what I used when we were without power. It won't warm a house but will help a great deal in a room, you just have to be sure and keep some ventilation going. I use it mostly in the garage during the Winter as it really takes that hard chill out of the air.
Also I am most likely not going to be posting or on the site much any more, so don't get concerned. Several things are going on now that are going to really have a negative effect on my every day life for the time I have left and I have to deal with them as I can. Thanks to all of you who have been such great friends and have helped me so much, and also apologies to those that I have offended. Best of everything to all of you and God Bless. I will try to drop in if and when I am able, and who knows, maybe things will turn out differently than what the doc says. Take care of Kristen.

Its 66 ºF outside and it will be a few hours before the ghosts and goblins arrive .....
so I'm going for a ride.
Don't let the doctors get you down. They only make money when you are sick. Stick it to them.

Ron. Please feel free to share with me any health concerns you may have. you know my email.
I have a couple of people that are quite able to take care of me, right here on CC. thanks for your concern.
I hope you get to feeling better, not worse, and that your prognosis is positive.
Tru- how can people be decorating for Christmas already- I'm just now going to put out Halloween decorations!! Man I am behind again this year.
I am overwhelmed with a lot of things in my life right now.
I hope I recover, as well.

That's OK, I haven't even gotten to Easter yet.
Ron, if I wasn't flying to Wisconsin/Iowa, I'd come check on you this weekend. We'll see how you are when I get back.

BOO
A neighbor put up about 10 flags around 4th of July and took them down at end of July. To my surprise, he put up a ghost on each telephone pole yesterday. They are about 12 feet up in the air.
