Good to hear you are alright, nothing blew away. I wager the kids had a great time.

I got a winch!!!

Had to overhaul it right out of the box.

I also got thermal under garments.

I can only imagine what Kristen's house was like with four youngsters running about. Of couse Warren hosted a sleigh of turtles. Fred, I venture to say he got dead flys.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Earl
Which was worse ... the 6 crumb crushers or the Cat 2 tornado?

Good that everything is OK.

Merry Christmas

Tru got a winch??? Don't you have to have at least one car that moves to use a winch? Does it have 1000 ft cable so you can drag cars up your driveway?

Merry Christmas and Happy Heineken

Warren,

He is going to mount it right on his lift so he can just drag the cars right onto it. Saves a lot of time.

Touching words from the mouth of babes.

What does Love mean?

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?"

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore.

So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."

Rebecca- age 8

_____

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."

Billy - age 4 (I love this one)

_____

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other."

Karl - age 5

_____

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."

Chrissy - age 6

___

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."

Terri - age 4

_____

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."

Danny - age 7

_____

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want t o be together and you talk more.My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss"

Emily - age 8

_____
I really like this one

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."

Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

_____

"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with
a friend who you hate,"

Nikka - age 6

(we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)

_____

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday."

Noelle - age 7

_____

"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are
still friends even after they know each other so well."

Tommy - age 6

_____

"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."

Elaine-age 5

_____

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."

Chris - age 7

_____

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left
him alone all day."

Mary Ann - age 4

_____

"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and h as to go out and buy new ones."

Lauren - age 4

_____

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." (what an image)

Karen - age 7

_____

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."

Jessica - age 8

_____

And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.

The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,"Nothing, I just helped him cry"

The winch is the "one man loading his Cobra on his trailer" tool. AND, I got a hand winch just in case the battery goes dead or power goes away.

4 weeks and I should be in Kristen's and Freds neck of the woods.

SO, I asked what everyone wanted before, now I can ask what everyone got.

What'd ya git?????

2,000 years ago, Moses said, "Pick up your shovel, pack your ass, mount your camel and I shall lead you to the Promised Land."

200-plus years ago, George Washington said, "Get off your ass, use your shovel, clear the land, grow plants for camels and it will be the Promised Land."

Last year, the Congress of the United States said "Si, Amigos, throw away your shovel, sit on your ass, light your Camels, we're giving you the Promised Land."

Kristen,

I received the card and calendar today and the kids look great in the Mustang. Now I am sure that Peter would take that car without any argument.

The calendar is really great, but have you gained weight?

Warren,

I am on some tech sites where people post questions about everything from cars to whatever and I saw this listed under pets. I thought you may have the answer as I stay mostly in the computer stuff but venture out into the other forums occasionally to see what is going on.

Turtle water?
What should the average temperature be for water in a tutlre tank?

Wink

Generally the water temp should be at room temp (approx 72 ºF). But there should be a heat lamp (approx 60 W bulb) situated above some part of tank over dry land, for a basking temp of 85 to 95 ºF. That way they can sun themselves if they are too cold. When they get nice and warm, then they have no problem eating frogs and downing a bottle of Heineken.

Of course, if you want some frog water, just lift the lid before you flush.

Are you absolutely sure that George Washington said grow food for Camels? Would that make him our first towelhead?

Ron,
From what I have observed: from the way they roll around and dive up & down, they seem to enjoy water around 246*.

Brent,

Have a safe trip and I hope that everything goes smoothly for you. We will be looking for you to post and tell us about your new job and the 12' of snow.

Fred,

You are trying to cook Warren's turtle. You should read some of the questions that are posted on a couple of these sites. One guy posted and wanted to know what a monitor was and what it did. I thought he was just fooling around but he was serious. He actually didn't know that the screen he was reading that on was his monitor. Must be some relation of mine.

May your travels be smooth and your journey complete.

Post after you land, tell us about the trip.

Happy Holidays to all.

We planted our tree today as it was only 32 and warm enough to go out and work.
