Thanks to all of you for the kind words and thoughts. I think I am going through post Car withdrawal right now and I am really hoping that I can get the Daytona Coupe as it would help a lot of things. I will continue to post, but I just still really feel strange about being here and not having a car of any kind that I can BS about.
As for the weather, it was a good thing that I let other stuff go and took that last drive. It was cold and rained off and on all day yesterday. This going from the 40s to the 70s and back every few days is really hard to adapt to at my age. As for it being in the 80s next week, that is our weather forecaster. I don't expect it to be anywhere near that and would be less surprised to see a blizzard.
Tru, Kristen, Fred, and Warren and all the rest, I would never stop posting or anything because I dislike anyone. I really don't dislike anyone on the site that I have posted with although some of don't always agree. I have learned much and this has been the best thing that has happened to me since I recovered enough to do anything. So I will hang around and pester everyone and also the person that has the Coupe.

Fred,
I saw your post and was already looking up receipts for Frog Legs. I figured by the time Frenchy and Turtle arrive it should be hot here.

Well, the boys lost to a prep school last night. Not because the prep school was better, but because the boys didn't come to play.
Erich got an assist on the only goal scored by his team.
Cold this morning. AND, if you can believe this, I heard it was going to 60 this weekend.
The Official Ford GT team shirts were offered to the team, I asked for three. I sort of went with what most of everyone else was going with.
So, Ron is selling his car to get a fancy Dodge, Hmmmm...... There has to be a good dig in there somewhere.
Isn't that a..."slow-par"?

Tru,
I am not selling my car to get a Dodge. I am trying to get a person to sell me his Daytona Coupe replica. Those are the 6 cars that Shelby made which won the world championship and they were mounted right onto a 289 chassis and ran the 289 engines. I am just hoping that he will contact me soon and we can work out a deal. Right now he is in the middle of several major changes which are going to take sometime to get everything organized.
Here is the one I want to get.
Ron

Tru,
Thanks. He has done a lot of stuff to improve on it. Replaced all aluminum with stainless and had the hood and fender wells reinforced. He had the chassis set up by some racing outfit and it has the fire suppression system and numerous other things that an old man like me like. Motor is a 351W stroked to 418 and puts out 530 horse with 560 pound torque. I will just be happy when he can get caught up with all the things he has going on so I can go down and spend a day with him and get everything all lined out.

Now that we have Ron straightened out, we can go back to business.
Tru - it's 4 şF outside. Send me some firewood.

Tru,
I am not sure just when I will get it but it will be a while as I have to wait until he gets all of his stuff straightened out. He is in the process of changing jobs and getting to know the people under him and the new job, also selling his old house and going through all of the paper work that this state demands when you purchase a new one. So I am not going to push him as I know what a pain it is to get anything done like that here. I hope that he can work in time to have me come down and get everything going within the next few weeks but just don't know.
It is supposed to rain off and on today but I don't know if it will or not. This has been a strange week. Went from the 40s and scattered showers overnight into the high 70s and the next day it was back into the low 50s and now they say maybe 80s tomorrow.

Mike Z,
Enjoy the races and let us know what you think of the new track layout. Heck, if you are nice Shelby might let you take one of his Cobras out and try it on the new track.

Ron,
I hope they didn't rune the track with the new layout. The thing I like about the Vegas track was you could see all the way around it.
I don't think I have enough niceness in my wallet for Shelby

Mike,
Why not drop by Ron's and borrow his '69 Cobra ?
Then you could show them how it was done back in the day.

Fred,
I really like that coupe and have wished I had it from the day he first got it. There are a couple of minor things that need to be taken care of when he gets time for me to go down and drive it and get the deal done. And with our Summers, that top will be great. And it is more aerodynamic than the roadster too. Also has a fire suppression system too. It is the kind that isn't so hard to clean up if you ever have to use it.
Mike,
Are you sure that you would want to run around the track on 38 year old tires?
