Ron - there is a lot of room in the car club. We have 28 cars inside. Its nice to work on a car with a lot of room around it, with nice lighting and heat! And if you get bored, there is a TV and a pool table in the meeting room.
Tru - wings? Buffalo wings?
A two foot diameter cherry tree? Do not tell a lie. That's a BIG tree. When I was a kid, my parents had to cut down my favorite tree that I used as a fort! The willow tree (regular willow, not weeping) was 28 feet around at the base. The stump was about 8 feet in diameter. It had 3 main trunks that separated about 2 feet above ground. See, my memory is perfec ...... .............................

Warren,
I see that your eyesight and reading is also going along with the memory. Tru said a FOUR Foot in diameter Cherry Tree, not TWO Feet. If you keep this up you are going to have people confusing you with me.

Tru,
I'd be careful about cutting down Cherry Trees.
One of Ron's GGGGGrandsons got into some trouble cutting down a Cherry Tree. They are still telling that story.

Fred,
I am guessing that you are referring to the one that also threw the dollar across the Potomac River. Of course a dollar went a lot father then than it does now.

I think he is the one that also started the trend of the government throwing money away.

Naw, the guy who starts the whole thing usually gets nothing and is forgetten.
I have invented a couple things and not to many people know. In the greater scheme of things, I will be forgotten.
Ron will not get any credit for being around at the beginning. Nor will he get any gredit for inventing the wheel or discovering fire. He's going to be like me in the overall scheme of things.

But please note that I did not claim to have invented the Frog or Turtle. Though at times I do wonder who decided on the names form many things such as rocks. trees, & etc. To many people back then with nothing to do. All 180 of us should have worked together.

You had 179 other people to work with? No wonder you took so long at deciding the wheel was the right design. The committee meetings must have been unreal and the design reviews...man good thing paint was invented yet or you would never decided on a color.
I just can't imagine that many people involved. Are you sure you are not stretching it a little?

Everyone knows that turtles invented the wheel so they could get around faster than frogs. Please stop the heresy about Ron and his early accomplishments.
The rain and wind finally stopped, but not before a 3 hour blackout.

Turtles never invented anything but Turtle soup. My accomplishments were so long ago that they were lost with the library of Alexandra.

Just did some comparison $$$ shopping.
About 3 weeks ago, I bought a can of Brakeclean at my local independent parts store ..... $3.49 (list price was supposedly $4.99).
Two weeks ago while picking up some stuff at an Advanced Auto Parts, noticed the Brakeclean was $3.19
Got an order from AllensFastners (SS parts and other neat stuff) last week and I ordered 2 cans ... $2.69 each (plus a portion of the shipping)

Just got an oil delivery to my house. $2.549/gal. Thankfully I only needed 125 gallons. What is home heating oil out your way? About a buck more a gallon??? Guess you didn't kill enough dinosaurs when you were a kid out in Kalifornicator.

he only moved to California after the Rockies formed and after the grand Canyon was deep enough to keep critters from the area now known as Massachusetts from moving west.
I am moving a ton ( 2000 pounds ) of rock today.

Warren,
I have no idea what heating oil would cost out here as no one that I know in this area uses it. They use wood, natural gas, or elecricity. Also some have propane heaters.
Tru,
Now you know why we worked so hard to dig the Grand Canyon and make sure the river ran through it to keep it from ever filling in.

I have a question:
Are there heaters that burn used engine oil for a heat source? I am not talking about for inside a home but for inside a large auto shop.
If so where can I get one?
Tru
You are going to need a drink tonight my friend.

Waste oil burners? Absolutely YES. We have one in the car club. Works great, except you have to make sure that it only gets oil, and nothing else. Also, a good filter is a MUST. Some of the brands recommend that you mix the used oil 50/50 with heating oil. Been using it for at least 10 years.
Do a google on "waste oil burners".
Here is one I found .. interesting read

Warren,
I wish I had known before you spent all that money to heat your house.
I don't know if it something I'm eating or just having a good week.
I can get you a good amount of some very natural gas.
I wouldn't consider it excessive but I don't have to wait in line at the checkout counter.

I would have no trouble heating my house with really "natural gas", except for the open flame and singed hairs. The Olympic tooting committee has been after me for decades since I was added to the Guinness Book of World Records
I guess the cold temp, rain, winds and flooding around here for the last two days was not enough. We just had a severe thunderstorm.
