A deer will leave more than a mark in the paint. Most of the time you will need a whole new front end. That is a common thing up here is for people to hit a deer on the roads through the mountains.

Put your glasses on. That's not a deer falling in the road sign.
Its a cow! What a milkshake!

Warren,
Our cows around here don't drink so they don't fall. But deer jumping from high banks and landing on the hood of a passing car or running right out in front of one is almost a weekly thing. One guy that worked for the old Western Electric and lived in Reno bought a brand new Chevy and on the way over to Redding hit a deer tearing most of the front off. He just had it banged out and patched enough to drive until he was through here and then he had it fully repaired. On the way home he hit another deer and tore the whole front off the car.

Josh barely got any sleep the night before the school,he was really excited about doing a driving school.
When he showed up at TMS at 7:15 am,it was just him and the guard.
I sure recommend this school to ALL teenagers. Before they develope bad driving habits would be best.
They have the same school for adults too.
It is all about learning how to handle a car in bad & emergency conditions/situations.
Here is what the sessions are :
Skid Pad
Off Road Recovery
Quick Lane Change
ABS Braking
ABS Braking & Turning
Tailgating Awareness
Slalom Course
Then they wrapup the 1st day by putting it all together with a Autocross Course.
Don Barnes was Josh's Instuctor.
Don has now been the driving instuctor for three generations of us.
Josh has commented several times since the school that he has found "HIS Sport".
"Sign me up for any and all Driving Schools".

What was that crunch I heard when backing the Cobra out of the garage?

Now that I no longer have a watering can (thankfully it was plastic), I had to go for a ride this afternoon ... until a cold front moved in and took the temp from 80 to 70 °F.

Here is a picture I promised Tru a couple of months ago. Its the birthplace of Abagail Adams. Finally drove by it today and remembered to get a picture. I've probably passed it at least 50 times in the past 3 years.

Nope. I did remove the tires to add anti-squeak plates to the Wilwood brakes, but that's all I did. I did clean the tires and used a spray dressing, but ?????
Now that I look at the pics, it does look lower. Think I'll measure to the wheel well lips tomorrow.
Good job with Josh. Every teenager should be required to go thru a course like that. We lose 6000 teenage drivers a year to car accidents.

Warren,
Great pictures as usual. I really like the one with Abagail Adams house in it. The Cobra does look lower but I thought it was probably just because of the background and the way you parked it.

I know I'm not in the same Leisure Class as Ron & Warren (yet).
I'm finally on my summer vacation and I'm going to try to do it like I can only imagine they live year round.
Josh and I will head down to our beach house on Mustang Island next Thursday or Friday for about a month !!!

Fred - have fun. Checked ride height distances. All were between 26.75 and 27". Most reps say 27" is a minimum. I'm not hitting anything so I'll check in a month or two to see if anything is sagging (other than my own body ).
Just woke up from 3 hr nap - time for a ride.

Fred,
I envy you having a nice beach house to go to. A whole month to do nothing except play. Keep in touch and post some pictures.

A kind of mixed up weekend for me. Back and shoulder hurt a lot, but I did get the lawns mowed and the weeds knocked down again. Hasn't been to hot, just in the mid 90s. Really just didn't feel to well and spent most of the weekend in the house and then all afternoon yesterday watching the race at Sears Point. Yea I know it is now Infineon, but Sears Point is what I grew up with and like.

Three days of weather in the low 70's. Great driving weather.
Today, its 92°F and climbing. I thought that the Mt Shasta Goddess was dead.

Finally broke down and bought a clock for the garage. It was only $15 at the Big Wally store .... Not bad for $15. The hands are little tools. Note the disc brake and caliper. The tire size written on the side wall is 245-40ZR18.

Warren,
Nice pictures as usual and that clock is neat. I bet something like that would cost twice what you paid for it out here. What does it run on, batteries or electricity? I am guessing batteries as I see no cord in the picture.

Runs on one AA battery. Check out Wal-Mart.com. Its probably listed (maybe). I could not bring myself to buy a Cobra clock for bucku bucks.
The clock is almost 11" dia, which is nice.
Ten minutes ago it was 90°F. Five minutes ago the temp was 93°F. Its now 88°F. I live inside a yo-yo. ... walkin the dog.
Taking a break from paying bills.
Hows your puppies doing? Have you seen aqua-cat trolling around your fishes?

Warren,
The pups are settling in and doing very well. I have an appointment the 5th of next month to take them in for hair cuts and baths. I have given them some baths and they like that but I am not sure what they will do about the clippers and hair cut. They like to go outside but it is just in the mid 90s now and that black hair really soaks up the heat.
Go for a drive and get out of the changing temperatures. Death Valley comes to mind as it doesnt change that fast down there.
