Ibr8k4vetts

Actually the 5 bags were a lot more than I expected. I'll be able to throw a lot of candy during the parade.

Tomorrow I'll clean the Cobra and finish sprucing up the yard. All the flags are on the telephone poles, so the street looks nice.

Kristen - regarding penny candy, I can remember getting two pieces of candy for a penny when I was a kid. That was just a few short decades after Ron invented the wheel.

Just finished supper - what a combo meal ... stuffed red pepper, lasagna and cantaloupe. Yum.

Waren,

When we invented candy we thought it would make mortar to stick rocks together. No good so we threw it away. Then some nut ate some and it has been a mess since then. They throw candy from the floats at the parades here and the little kids love it. I helped one little girl last year that wasn't big or fast enough to get any and we wound up with the most.
En joy the festivities and I hope the rain will hold off until everything is finished. Kristen, you may have to have your parade with arks if the rain keeps up.

Warren,

Sooty is probably lucky there weren't 30 females in there or he'd be dead.

Yea and so far we have none. I heard on the Boob-tube that it has rained everyday here at DFW for the last 100 days straight. Yep we have a 60% today as well but it sure is nice out right now.

We got one of those yard gazebos that has a metal frame and a canvas top and put it together this morning. It sure is nice and when it starts raining like a cow pissin on a flat rock after while we will have a shelter to grill under. LOL

I think we rented a 20 x 40 tent for our party. This is the last one we are having for the 4th.

Well, that didn't last too long. It rained here for about 15 minutes and then the sun came back out. Time to fire the Grill.

AHHH, cold one and a grill. Thanks to all our servicemen we can have a great day. Don't forget to say a prayer and give thanks to our soldiers.

Hope that all of you had a great 4th yesterday. No grills needed here. It was 114 and all you had to do was put the meat outside for a few minutes on a piece of aluminum. Supposed to stay in that range the next few days.

wow I just woke up!!!
like at 8:30! slept hard all night and didn't hear the rain or thunder that turned off the electricity, didn't hear hubby snoring (for once) but he said I WAS, and this morning my throat hurts.
Worked hard yesterday and a late night. guess i was beat!
Up early and bed late with a lot in between, good plan for a good nights' sleep.
We had a really nice night, and where my brother/sister in law live is really high, way out East of Dallas. We could stand in their backyard and watch about 10 fireworks shows going on around the metroplex, in about a 150* arc. Cool!
We shot off quite a few, ourselves. First year in about five without a burn ban.

Ron, i see Cali. is having really hot temps. I feel for ya! This summer is so bizarre for us! Not just the constant rain, but the cooler temps. I'm not sure we've hit a hundred once.

Company coming to visit tomorrow and everything is a huge mess.
gotta get to work!
David needs to bale the yard. Too wet again from last nights rain.

Yea, Even with the small shower we had it was a great day. Went out to the Ball Park after the Rangers game and watched the fireworks there.

It has been a long time since I have seen so many drunken people in one location. wow....

It rained this morning. I understand Dallas has had 100 days of rain.

That is a lot of water.

Kristen,

It was 114 here yesterday and is supposed to be from 107 to 115 for the next five days if you can believe the forecast. I know is is already in the low 90s and it is just 10 AM. Everyone around here is worried about the fire danger as this area is like a powder keg with fires burning around it. I would trade you 50 degrees of our heat for about 14 inches of your rain. It was so hot yesterday that I never even saw any of the normal 4th people out and around.

yep, my feet are stating to webb or web or whatever you get the picture.

Thank God for the rain though. Yes, we have had more than our share here of late but we certainly needed every drop of it.

We could use some rain here - it was a dry winter and has been a dryer summer. I'm hoping my transmission I got on ebay arrives here today - all the way from Texas. It was cheaper to do that than get mine rebuilt here. Doesn't look messed up at all, just wouldn't go into reverse, and they wanted
$1,200 to fix it. I'm going to check the back up light switch now that I
downloaded the shop manual from Tremec. Playing with this should keep
me out of trouble for a while and give me plenty of spare parts.
I'm hoping the new one goes in easily so I can get out and do some driving.

Flip,

Do you have to have back up lights on your Cobras there? I have the Tremec Manual and a tape they sent me for my other car and the tape goes through the whole process of rebuilding one step by step. After watching it twice and reading the shop manual a few times, I decided if I need it worked on I would take it to the transmission shop that had done mine for years. There must be a hundred little springs and balls and such in that thing that can fly out if you don't hold them when you remove certain pieces.
