Hey Warren,

We are having a cold wave and it is only supposed to be in the 102 to 105 range the next three days. I took the pups to the vet and left them for their surgery and will get them in the morning when if is cooler if everything goes well. Took the Coupe for a drive and even with the air going I almost roasted. That car is definitely hotter than the Cobra was. Took a quick chance to see how it would accelerate in 5th gear and quit at 120 but the car was just handling great. I think Tony said he had it up to around 140/145 once and that would be about the top for it. But I am learning more about it. I now know where all the pedals and steering wheel is.

OK, Brent's birthday is over.

Glad you know where the pedals are Ron. It helps a lot. I know it took me at least 6 rides before I stopped hitting the brake pedal every so often when I was going for the clutch. The offset pedals are a bugger for newbies.

Glad the temp was cold in your parts. It was foggy today, within 1/2 mile of the ocean. But further inland it was beautiful. Temp got all the way up to 75°F. Worked around the yard, and went for 30 minute drive to cool off. Had lunch and went for ride #2. Did some weeding and found out I was out of potting soil, so ride #3 (have you ever carried gardening stuff in your trunk?)

Planted the rest of the impatiens around the yard and did some more weeding. Went for another 30 min ride (#4) to cool off.

Pissed off some lady behind me - she blasted her horn for about 5 seconds after I did not move IMMEDIATELY after the car in front moved. I could see a cop up ahead directing traffic around some workers digging a hole. I just crawled for a while until she tried to pass me ... and I left her out in the wrong lane. Of course, I was way behind the car in front and the cop stopped me to let opposing traffic go. I continued to crawl at about 20 or 25 MPH for the next few miles, anticipating her every move to get around me.

I don't do that stuff very often but people who sit on their horn piss me off.

Gee, its been 2 hours without a ride. I'm getting withdrawal pains. Time for a ride.

Warren,

They revised the weather report here yesterday after I left for the drive. Instead of 104 it topped out at 111 and they say it will stay in the 110 to 115 range all week. Also a little humidity added in and it really seems hot.
You sound like what I did to a guy in a pick up some time back. We have a three lane road in Redding and one lane is a turn only lane that shoots you out onto the freeway. He kept cutting across all three lanes in front of me and the other traffic and the last time he got into the turn only lane, I speeded up and got right beside him and would not let him back into any of the other lanes. The last I saw of him he was headed for the freeway flipping me the bird and screaming something that I am just as happy to have not understood.

115°F

Why does anyone want to live in a desert? Thats hot! Move to the coast!

Guess I'll go to Home Depot and pick up some stuff and a new window fan to replace the one that died in the garage. Have a $75 gift card ... might as well use it.

I was cleaning out a drawer about a year ago, and I found a really old gift cert from a local store "Big & Tall". One of these days I'll have to drop in and try to redeem it. Its dated Dec 1984.

Are the puppies shooting blanks and/or eggless yet?

I still cannot believe a public restroom with 3000 toilets!

Warren,

I brought the pups home this morning and they are doing well except Sweetheart has a bladder infection and has to take antibiotics for it. Ken said this was not all that uncommon in really young female dogs and I have to take her back in two weeks for him to check her. I hope that it clears up as Sherry had to take medicine for a good part of her life for a bladder infection, but she had hers after surgery to remove some stones and it was one that if you didn't keep it down would flare up every month or so. Something about the type of stones and that they could reform and by testing for the infection he could see if they were starting, so he said it would just be better the last time we got it cleared to keep her on the medicine and not have to worry about it.
This is not desert here. I live in the foothills of the mountains. The real desert starts several miles from here. And 115 to 120 degree temperatures have never been that unusual for here, but normally just for a few days.

Oh ya, like a few miles makes a big difference. Give it a rest. You only live 93 million miles from the sun.

The forecast was for 80°F and its already 86°F here now with high humidity. Almost as bad as Houston in February. Need the defroster when starting the car.

Time for lunch and maybe a nap. Do not want to overextend myself like yesterday with 5 different rides.

It is mostly overcast here right now and just 80 degrees. But once the sun gets through the overcast it will be just like yesterday. The temperature will just shoot up in a matter of minutes. When I left for my ride yesterday it was just 96 and felt great. When I got home it was 111 and I was so soaked with sweat and hot that I couldn't hardly stand up.

Warren just has to much time for driving around. Tru don't you have some trees he could come down and cut or plant so he could see what work is like. It is more than getting into the Cobra Warren.

We have fires going in the mountains not to far away now and it is smoky and yesterday we actually had about a half dozen sprinkles. The lightening started several fires. Most they got under control but I haven't heard anything about the largest one yet this morning.

Steve,

Does that mean you are no longer going to continue building the Ark? We could sure use some rain to help with the fires.

Ron,
Nope the plans are still moving forward. These frogs around here won't leave me alone. The turtles have backed up a little but the freeking frogs are everywhere. LOL

No kidding, I have never seen so many frogs in my life. They say that the frogs population is thinning out here, but not from what I see.

Ron likes to work eight hours in an air conditioned office dripping wet. Well, maybe he does.

Went to a good retirement planning seminar this evening.

Ah yes, the weekend is at hand. I am sure HLC is working over time with all the kids and summer vacation.

Tru,

What is this me liking to work 8 hours in an air conditioned office? I don't want to work 8 hours in any place.

I am sure that Kristen will be busy as usual with all the kids and things going on. Boy I wish I was as young as she is and had all of her energy.
