Ron - terrible ride yesterday ... temp of 73°F and sunny and no humidity.

Took a leisurely 5 hour ride to nowhere. Got all the way up to an unbearable 80°F away from the ocean, so I stayed by the coast!

Found some more scenic places and took some photos ... will upload and post later.

Mt Shasta Goddess on the prowl here. Off and on light rain ... supposed to stop this afternoon and 3 nice days to follow. Temperature at 10:30 AM is ONLY 62°F

Went for a basic 5 hr ride yesterday. Temperature was a gorgeous 73°F and sunny skies with very low humidity. The following pic is from a house in Hull, MA. The owners have almost every square inch of the yard covered with lawn art, do-dads, etc and all of the flowers and other plants are in pots. They sell the flowers in the pots. Truly amazing place.

I drove up and down some of the roads next to the ocean in Hull trying to find some nice spots to take pictures. I did find a few ... some were down very narrow dead end side streets.

Brent is spending his free time working on the cobra lately. Emily and I just drive it around and he gets to fix it all the time. The last thing he did was put a new carb and manifold on it. Now it needs a new hood scoop because it raised the air cleaner about 3 inches. We always read this thread but he doesn't post a lot. Emily had to have her kindergarten shots today and is sore.

Poor baby. She didn't cry much and got four suckers, one for each shot.

When does school start for you? (Emily)

My kids start next Thursday, the 16th.
It is hectic right now getting everything together. I was wanting to go to Detroit and see the Woodward Street thing but doesn't work the first weekend. Lots of things going on next Friday, Saturday and even on Sunday.

How have ya'll settled in on your move?? You have your own place now, right??

I did a little scrapbooking today. How are you coming along??

I am EXACTLY a year behind! I am in the last week of July, '06. ugh. A busy school year to catch up, and then start this year. ugh ugh. I've kinda changed how i'm cropping, but still a lot to do!

it's tooooo hot to drive the Cobra. About 100* every day. I drive it to the monthly meets, but that's about it. I've been driving the new Mustang lately.

Is there no recovery for your loss? That bites man.

Carrie and I were a victim of ID theft about three years ago. Someone wrote Over $100K in checks in our name (someone else's account) in a 28 day span. They were being written everywhere in the country on the same day. Plane tickets rental cars, five star hotels you name it. We had to go through the mess with registering as an ID theft victim to get it cleared up. It took almost year. It cost us over $10K in attorney fees.

Wisconsin has a state law that school cannot start until after Labor Day. Somebody has to work the Dells. We have a new house and are having a open house on Sunday night. I have a cold and I am wondering how I am going to make it through it.
Don't really like driving the cobra right now because it is hot. Brent cut a hole in the driver's side foot well and the heat from the engine burns my feet. By the way how do you keep you hair from flying all over when you drive? It keeps getting in my eyes. (I know that you follicle challenged people don't have this problem.)

That sucks. Sorry to hear about your loss. In this so called information age anyone can get more information about you than you know. Hope you can get it cleared up soon.

Are you telling Kristen that she is folicle challenged? In my case there is no problem as I have no hair to challenge anything.

At least Brent got by with just a carburetor change. I am looking into having a new engine built for the coupe as I just don't like this fuel injected racing computer set up at all. Hard starting and I almost ran the battery down yesterday out about 20 miles from the nearest house. I can have a new engine with carb built for less than having to ship the car and this set up down and have them try to asdjust it so I can start it. And there is no one in this part of the state that even knows how to tune then darn thing as it is all done by lap top and everything has to be done individually and then gone back over and re-did. Plus they people that made the computer told me it was for racing and not stret use and would never start easy or run well at low speeds. I love the car and having the roof plus the air conditioner, but do not like the engine set up at all. Tell Brent I could use his expertise on this.

You are up early. Must have a big day planned. I am going to be doing a few things. I need to run the mower over the weeds in my yards but doubt if I will. Monday I am taking the Coupe down to let Bill look at it and talk to him about having an engine built that does away with that darn computer and racing fuel injection set up. I almost got stuck about 20 miles from the nearest place yesterday when it didn't want to start and the battery almost ran down. I just want a good engine with a carb that doesn't require an electronic engine genius to make it start. So I may be without a car except the 69 for sometime but it will be worth it if we can work something out.

Ron,
First- I could easily be missing something about the engine in your Coupe.
Can't you just remve all that injection related stuff and replace it with a normal manifold and carb ???
Or is the static compression & cam a problem too ??

BTW Tru has a slightly used carb that could help you along.

That is why I am taking it down to the engine builder Monday to see what we can do. I know that the fuel pump and all has to be replaced and I am just not sure what we may run into. That darn computer has so many internal sensors and one external one that I want Bill to look it over and determine the best way to go. The cam is kind of radical too. Plus I would need to get a distributor and an MSD ignition set up and get rid of the individual coil packs that the computer uses. I am just a little leary of trying to do a Rube Goldberg set up and not really knowing what I am going to have. I will let you know more after next Monday when we have a chance to get it up on his lift and look everything over.

Carrie used to put hers up in a pony tail when we would go out. She would also sometime were a baseball hat and pull the pony tail through the cut out in the back. Is she did not put the hat on real tight when we got where we were going she just took it of and took out the hair band and she never had hat hair. It worked great for her.

Jenny,

Do what I do and get a short bungee type cord with wide clips on each end. Fasten one end to the cal and the other to the back of your shirt, blouse, or whatever. That way if the cap blows off it just falls down on your back. This has saved me several caps over the years.
