Hmmmm......

I see we are getting philosophical in our post.

What if there is only a transition to a higher plane of existence?

Just a question.

Tru,
I do not know what to think or expect anymore. I do not think when we die we cease to be. We just are no longer in the same state that we are in today.

I do believe in God and I always have, and I always will. I pray everyday, I am not ashamed of that and really do not care what others think if I am right or wrong. I do not know the "bigger plan" for my life or anyone else's for that matter. I just wonder , why things that happen, happen. Things like war, and suffering and some of the horrible things that happen in our world. The Tsunami was, well horrible, as was Katrina, as was Hitler. We all know that list could go on for years.

I just don't know why bad things happen to good people, that's all. I am sorry to Ron for not making myself clear this morning when I commented about the laxatives. That was funny Ron, . I may not know now, but I will know someday.

Where do I think we go when we die, depends if I was a good boy I guess.

Well, at least I was a good boy today. I did not go into any restrooms at the airport.

Temperature really dropped fast at about 5:30 PM down into the mid 70's, so I was compelled to go for a short one hour ride. Probably never got more than 5 miles from my house. Weather was great and I got about six "nice car" shouts.

Tried another sunset shot. Just so so, but at least I got to go for a ride.

Edited because I deleted many pics from my gallery.

Mike,

I am happy to hear that they finally have the fire contained. We have really been fortunate this Summer as everyone expected us to have one of the worst fire seasons on record..

Steve,

I to believe in another life. In fact I believe that this time we spend here is just a minor part of our life. I am not ashamed of my beliefs nor will I argue with anyone about theirs. You should in no way feel bad about our misunderstanding in the earlier posts. I just misread what you were referring to. But like a politician, I have an excuse. My age and failing eyesight plus I am no longer able to think clearly gives me OLD AGE privileges.

Ron

OK, I just got my Mega Millions tickets. Prize is up to $330M. Of course, when I win it tonight ... I want a lump sum in cash, so it will only be about $170M.

Bullitt on AMC channel now. I've only seen it about 5 times.
Time to pay some bills and then go for a ride. Its sunny and 76°F outside. Terrible weather and NO forest fires (yet). This August has been the second driest August on record in my area. About 0.6" total for this month.
Guess I'll have to go for another ride. But after I win Mega Millions, I'll have a chauffeur .... and all of my friends will get a cut (and a bandage).

Ron,
No problem. You aren't the only one that can see as well as when you were young.

Left for a ride about 4 PM while it was about 73°F.. When I came home, I was ready for a hot cup of coffee. Temp was probably in the low 60's. Brisk ride in shorts and a t-shirt.

OK, time for a Quincy history lesson. The house in the picture is the Col. Josiah Quincy House. This handsome Georgian country mansion, the home of political activist Josiah Quincy and his successors, was built in 1770, just as the new nation of America was beginning to chafe at the bit for its freedom. This lovely estate was the "in" place for the social and political powers that be for 100 years. Legend has it that Col. Josiah Quincy looked out from his top floor onto the British fleet threatening Boston, and reported their movements to Gen. George Washington.
