Warren,
One just for you and Turtle. All the rest are to young.
Bus Tour Through
EuropeA group of Americans were traveling
by tour-bus through France and Italy.
When they stopped at a larger farm,
their young guide led them through
the process of cheese-making,
explaining that goat's milk was used.
She showed the group a lively hillside
where many younger goats were running
and skampering about, and another
smaller pasture where a few older goats
were lounging about or slowly grazing.
Pointing to the older goats, she explained,
"These are the older goats that are put out
to pasture when they no longer produce."
She then asked, "What do you do
in America with your old goats?"
A spry old gentleman answered,
"They send us on bus tours!"

Steve
That sounds like me every time a Chinese guy calls me ... about every 3 to 6 months. He asks something in Chinese (I think) and I mimic exactly what he said. Our conversations usually last about 20 seconds when he hangs up.
Ron - the last time I was on a bus was at least 40 years ago. And the speed of a bus is waaaaaaaay too fast for Turtle.
Went for another 3 hour ride yesterday. Temp was in the low 70's but very cloudy. The first picture is an estate gatehouse that was turned into a single family home in Milton. If you subscribe to Money magazine, look at page 92 of the August issue. Same house pictured in magazine article.
Went by a park that I have visited many times. Tried taking some shots with a couple of "interesting" trees in the background. Ron - if you look to the left you'll see that big 6 "trunk" tree you like so much.
I was cruising down this side street where the cheapest house is about $2M and they only have 2 car garages. Saw this interesting looking vine covered tree.
Last, but not least, I drove into the Forbes House Museum in Milton. It was closed, but I took a look at the grounds and the house. It is located at the highest point in Milton and you get a great view of the Boston skyline and beyond from the front of the property. It is located about 3 houses away from the birthplace of George Herbert Walker Bush (41st president).
And seeing as I was looking for old trees, I took this shot on the museum property.
OK class. For additional information on the Forbes House Museum, go to
http://www.forbeshousemuseum.org/
There will be a quiz next Friday.
Supposed to be in the mid 90's with some humidity for today and tomorrow

Warren,
Great pictures. That house is really something and I do like the trees. I have always enjoyed hiking back into the canyons where you are miles from anyone or anything. Get to see things that haven't been bothered for 100 years.

Work is a 4 letter word
We are in the midst of a drought. I'm even watering my bushes and trees. Don't have as many as you Tru, but I do not want to see them die. The bushes in the front of my house were planted in 1945, so they are war babies just like me. I heard that Ron was a war baby too ... civil war
Its 96°F outside and the Cobra has no A/C, so NO ride today
Hey Ron - what brand is the coupe you bought?
Steve - if you like the gate house, you should see the estate house which is about 400 yards out back. Fantastic old house in excellent condition. House and land probably worth about $7M. Its about 10 miles from my house, but in another country when regarding prices

Has Ron been talking about his age again?
It stormed nice.
I am going to get boards for my last construction project. I suppose it will be mid day tomorrow and I will be nailing and cutting to get it done.
I planted two rare trees int he front and one in the rear of the house. One is a Korean Pine, hard to grow in Michigan, but this one is doing okay. The other two are some kind of red wood.

Try a Sequoia. If anyone can grow one off the west coast it should be you.

A Redneck passed away and left his entire estate
to his beloved widow
but she can't touch it 'til she's 14.
How do you know know when you're staying
in a Redneck hotel ? . .
When you call the front desk and say,
I gotta leak in my sink, and the
clerk replies, Go ahead.
How can you tell if a redneck is married ? . .
There's dried tobacco juice on both sides
of his pickup truck.
Did you hear that they have raised the minimum
drinking age for Rednecks to 32 ? .
It seems they want to keep alcohol
out of the high schools.
Two reasons why it's so hard to solve a
Redneck murder . .
1) The DNA is all the same
2) There's no dental records
Who invented the toothbrush ? . .
A Redneck.
(If it had been invented by anyone else,
it would have been called a teeth brush.)
A State Trooper pulls over a pickup on Highway 16
and says to the driver, "Got any I.D. ?" . .
and the driver replies "Bout wut ?"
Did you hear about the $3 million Redneck Lottery ? . .
The winner gets $3.00 a year for a million years.
A new Redneck law was just recently passed . .
When a couple gets divorced,
they are STILL cousins.
Did you hear that the Redneck governor's
mansion burned down ? . .
"Yep. Prit'near took out the whole trailer park,
said the redneck, the library was a total loss too.
Both books went poof . . . up in flames and the
governor hadn't even finished coloring one of them."
Thats all folks !

Warren, "they are cheaper by the dozen?"
It is nice outside.
I just love the job Dean Lamp did on his GT40. I have been looking at how I can do one, unless a lot of money falls in my lap, I do not see it happening soon.
You all have a safe day.

Good morning world. Temp hit 96°F yesterday and same predicted for today. If I wanted this heat I'd move to Phoenix. But we are supposed to get some rain on Monday. 75% of all lawns are brown! We have only had about 1/2 inch of rain in the last 40 days. But I do water my veggies every other day
Two thousand condoms! Oh my! Next! Even Frenchy couldn't use that many

Tru,
If you want a GT-40, when a friend of mine gets back from his Summer home in Alaska, you might get his cheap. I don't remember what company made it, but before he left he had it at a body shop forever and the guys there told me they had to fix almost everything on it and have new door hinges machined as the ones that came on it were so flimsy that after they finally got the doors to fit correctly they wouldn't stay adjusted because the hinges would bend. He finally got it home but the body is just setting on the chassis and he was really somewhat disgusted when he left. But after all the work and fixing the uneven places in the body, the car will be great when it is finished. His grandchildren three generations from now may get to see it finished.

I'd love to have a GT40, but my GT50 body is just too big I'd have to use it as lawn art like Turtle

Warren,
Now we all know why you go on those three hour drives. I am sorry that your local massage parlor has been closed down but I am sure an astute person like yourself has a back up plan.

The couples apartment that was raided is about 15 minutes from my house.
The Cobra at about 4K RPM in second or third is a good but short massage.
But you have a short memory. About 3 years ago, the lady across the street from my house always had a lot of parties at night. She was living there (renting 1/2 of big house) for about 2 years when she was arrested for being a madam. She operated a so called massage parlor across the street from the high school. The city instituted a licensing policy for massage therapists after that case. She had been arrested for various things in other towns north of Boston.
Back then I told people I had 2 lawyers and a madam for neighbors ... and hopefully the lawyers would move away to increase the value of my property.

OK crime fans. About 3 years ago, a couple of homeless men were brutally murdered in a park about 15 miles south of my house. They were beaten to death with a baseball bat in an old military ammunition bunker. They also cut a hand off one of the victims. I can remember investigating those bunkers when I was a teenager.
They just arrested two skinheads for the crime. It was in the newspaper that one of them was showing the severed hand to friends at a party after the murders. The accused are 23 and 25 years old, and have long rap sheets.
Their street names are "Killa" and "Twisted".
OK, who wants to pull the switch after they are convicted?
