Mike,

It seems to me that I remember you having smoke and ash from an earlier fire in the Santa Barbara area. Maybe you should rush in and build where it has just burned and that way you would have a few years before the underbrush and dead trees will be a huge hazard again. I worked some as a fire fighter when they had some big ones here and it is miserable work. Take care and stay safe.

Mike Z, well there are some pictures that say much more than others.

How bad is it?

Great shot Ron, I am not sure, but I think that is Warren's alternate car.

Isn't he on vacation from being retired?

No wonder he wanted to drive to Martha's Vineyards instead of fly. Wouldn't it be funny if it mated with his cobra. Wonder what the off spring would look like. Half Frog, half Turtle.

Hey
I'm too busy doing nothing on vacation to be worried about a turtle VW. I posted that car pic about a year ago.

It reminds me of LA in the 1970's...but then it was smog

Have a Wonderful Day,

Best Prayer I've Have Heard In a Long Time

Heavenly Father, help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children.

Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man who can't make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester.

Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares

Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together

Heavenly Father, remind us each day that, of all the gifts you give us, the greatest gift is love. It is not enough to share that love with those we hold dear. Open our hearts not to just those who are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love.

Working for God on earth doesn't pay much......but His retirement plan is out of this world!

Fred,

That was a good post and I am sending it to some friends of mine. If we could all just live by the most simple 10 rules there all, think of how much better this world would be.

Nice prayer Fred.

Ron .... make that one rule to take care of 99% of problems (don't really need 10) .... do unto others as ......

Warren,

Good to see that yo are posting and survived the first minor snow. Mt. Shasta has a fair covering of it left and that plus much more is going to be sent your way since you made fun of the Goddess. You will have to tunnel your way to your garage just to look at the Cobra. but maybe you can hire the engineers that fixed the tunnel to Boston to dig you one.

Those pics were from last winter ....

No snow here yet. We are still having temps in the 70's and 80's. I've only had the heat on once so far for 5 minutes when the temp outside got down to 43F a few weeks ago.

Well we are having our typical Summer to Winter transition. It is in the upper 70s to mid 80s in the afternoon and it was 38 yesterday morning. Have to use a little heat in the mornings and fans in the afternoon.

Same old weather here - lows in the low 70's at night to mid 80's today.
Sorry guys. Hey - at least you can drive somewhere!

Warren, I thought you were in the vineyard or whatever.

Was it too cold?

It is getting cooler and cooler. I may have to put the sheathing on in the snow.

Same weather here. Low 80s yesterday afternoon and 42 this morning. But it will soon change and stay colder all day.

Pic from last year, just to get you going. First day on Vineyard was beautiful. Last few days have been mid 50's and rainy. UGH.

But it was beautiful last night during the Red Sox game.

Go Sox!

Rain! You get rain and we get fires. But at least the winds are dying down and they are making progress.

She's just taking her time.

She's gonna be at your house in a little while and then all those blasphemes will be accounted for.
