Fred,

I won't know the status of the pups until some time next week. The darn labs are closed until Monday and then they will have a ton of backed up work. All I know is Ken said Sweethearts x-rays showed something in the thick intestine, but I can't find anything about the intestines that says thick. I did find a ton of stuff that said it could be anything from cancer which would cause death to a tumor to an infection caused by a change in diet or water. Since I haven't changed their diet and both got this at the same time I don't know what to think. In fact right now I am so full of medicine I can't think. I took Frenchy in this morning and left him. I took Sweetheart in Wednesday as she was acting a lot worse than he was. And he isn't acting bad this morning so I have hopes that whatever it is, he doesn't have it as bad as she does.

Ron

I had thought you had said you had changed their food a few week ago.
With both acting the same at the same time,I would think about the food or a common virus.

A few years ago ,I remember dog food being looked into.In one study they dissolved dry food in water. The amount of HAIR that was in some of them was amazing. The makers of the food said it was added for 'bulk'.

Fred,

I will next week. Today is his normal day off and Jeffery was there. He will go ahead and start the stuff on Frenchy if he has time. Darn it, I just can't seem to do anything correctly. Can't even take care of two little pups. The food I changed them to was another brand of dry food and I got it at the vets because I just didn't feel like standing in line at COSTCO for 2 hours to pay for another bag of that food. It could also be something they have ate in the yards as I try to watch them but they will, pick up and chew on anything, even the rose bushes. I am hoping that Frenchy at least won't be quite so bad.

Jon
You can keep it. Any excess should be shipped north of Detroit so Tru can enjoy more shoveling.

We sure don't need any snow here! You're welcome to it there.

Ron,

CC would be a lesser place without your presence, you have had a Cobra and contribute to the club - please don't leave us now!

I'm no vet - didn't even stay at the Holiday Inn last night but - it sure sounds
like either the dog food or something out in the yard is not agreeing with the
pups. Hopefully the vet can figure it out or at least the pups get over it
and get their spunk back for you. Any kind of bug poison anywhere?
Chocolate isn't good either if I recall.

One draw back with these holidays is that for me today I tried to get a new drive gear for my garage door opener and they were closed today so it
will have to wait until Monday and it will be in manual mode until then.
At least I can still open and close it - but it is a leap to the past.

Hey
Anyone heard from Steve Parks (Ferrari Killer)?
He used to post a lot on this thread but nothing for the last few months.
Hope he is OK.

Congratulations to the boys on the win! That sure had to make for a much
nicer drive home even if it was a bit late. Good luck on the next level.

Flip,

Thanks for the encouragement. It sure seems lonely around here this morning and I am completely lost as I can't get my mind to work at all. And no, I don't use any type of spray or bug poison, but they chew on everything they find and I have tried to pick up acorns and stuff but it is impossible for me to find everything in the yards as more blow in daily. And I don't feed them chocolate as I know it is bad for any dog. I am hoping that Monday the lab won't be so back logged they can't get to Sweethearts tests and get the results back to Ken. Every time anything bad happens to one of them or the others I had, it is always a darn weekend or holiday week when everything is closed. I can't believe how attached I get to my pets and they are the only good thing that has happened to me in the past two years after losing both Sherry and Teddy so close together. I have had to take nerve pills far more often than I like and only faith is holding me together at this time.

Kristen,

Congratulations on the boys and their team. I hope they make it all the way and win the state. But to make it this far is better than many will ever have a chance at, so they can be proud of what they have accomplished. I will be rooting for them.

Warren,

I asked about Steve Parks some time back and no one seemed to know what happened to him. He was posting and then just quit. I have his old number but not anything new. I was wondering if he got a new job and moved again, but I would have thought he would post something about it. I miss his posts too.

K - congrats on the win for the kids.

Gee, its 18°F outside at 8 AM, and the weatherman on TV said there are 4 more weeks until winter starts. Predicted high today is 38°F. Guess I'll be busy around the house today.

I almost forgot - good morning to all of you early birds.

Warren,

It is 37 here this morning and the high is supposed to be in the low 60s. Boy are we going to have a cold Winter, but so far no rain forecast and we should already be having quite a bit. It is all coming to your area as SNOW. Enjoy digging the tunnel from your house to the garage.

Warren,

No such luck. She is to far North of me, and everything seems to be heading East. I told you that you were going to be sorry for all the rides you took while the rest of us were freezing and then kept posting about how great your weather was. I saw on one of the TV long range forecasts yesterday that this could be one of the coldest and worst Winters in some parts of the East they have had in many years. Strange that your place was right in the center of it.
