Kristen,
When you click on the profile button, it should pop down a list of things on the left hand side of the screen. The Stastics Button is down near the bottom of that list.

oh, thanks, I found it! i wasn't looking in the right place.
"Number of photos 680
Number of comments 112
Number of times photos viewed 90,500
Disk space used 795.6mb"
that disk space used column is a problem; I'm supposed to get that down to 50?? haha.
fugettaboutit
ps... since i AM the GODDESS, maybe i could get an exemption. I mean look, my photos have been viewed over 90K times!!!!

Kristen,
No, you don't have to get it down to 50 unless you want to load more photos. The ones already in there won't be bothered. And there are a lot of empty galleries, but there are also a lot that have more than you and Warren in them. And it would be a huge amount of work to download as many as you and Warren have and then try to re-size them to get them back in.

ok. i get it. bummer.
i guess i won't load more photos!
that's a real negative in my book.
i have always loved telling my stories and posting my pics. guess that's what got me in this fix in the first place, huh??
i could go delete a few repeats, not interesting photos, but frankly, i don't think removing a couple of hundred would make that much difference.
It really really changes my view about posting here.
Kinda depressing.
I like my photos; like my stories, or i wouldn't do them.
kinda a catch-22, if you ask me.
oh Kristen, post a pic.... nah, not now.....

I was just about ready to comment when you posted the last message. The file size you have been uploading are in the 1200 to 1400 KB size. That is very large. Great size if you were printing them all as 8 by 10" photos, but a big waste of bytes on a web site. My typical pic size has been about 120KB which is only 10% of your typical pic, and still larger than necessary to view the picture on the monitor.
Like I said before ... it would take a lot of time and effort to revise your gallery. First thing I'd suggest is changing the file size of the pics you take in your camera. Then sign up for some sites and upload new pics to that site and then they can easily be linked to your new posts.
Of course, you can always take the " Crash and Burn" route.
Just DELETE all of the photos in your gallery. In that case, all of your pictures that you have posted in many many threads would show up as little boxes with a red X in the middle ....
Then set up your gallery with multiple albums (the feature that was just reinstated .. click on my camera).
Now upload any new photos and old photos, but make sure they are sized down to something manageable for viewing on a monitor (I guess that is 75 to 100 kb).
You are the Goddess with 90K views. I only have 34K views.
Of course, maybe your rant on the photo sticky thread may get Brent thinking and somehow making the problem less of a problem for us photo nuts.

Kristen,
We do enjoy your photos and stories. And as I said, you can use another storage site for the photos which is what I do with almost every picture that I have in any posts. I know it is hard to accept, but the world won't end because Brent has set the limits back on. If I had a way to do it I would let you use my gallery as I haven't used more than about 1/3rd of my space.

ok... how do i change the file size of the pics i take in my camera???
i've looked before, but not sure where i can change the settings. guess i have to find the manual.
i just bought a new itty bitty camera. slips in my pocket.
you know, the problem isn't so much changing the size of NEW ENTRIES, but more a problem of DELETING my old photos. I don't want to do that!!
get rid of some of the other unnecessary junk on this site- like the thousands of registered members that don't post or probably even remember they're a member here. CC can boast '18k' members all they want; but i'll tellya, i still bet less than 3000 are regular members.
I just don't like this limit thing. I don't live with limits.

Kristen,
Where did you get that 1200 to 1400kb size that I have been uploading? None of my pictures in the gallery are close to that. Most are in the 80 to 180kb range. Also I never posted anything about you changing the camera settings, but you will have a menu that lets you change the default setting to larger or smaller sizes. I just use the default setting in mine which takes pictures at the 850kb to 1.5mb size depending on the setting and then if I post them I downsize them using the re-size tool.
Ok, now I see the problem. Some nut that owns a Turtle posted what you are crediting me with. Wow, you must be upset to get me and Warren mixed up.
Warren,
Stop getting me in trouble with Kristen.

Fred,
Warren and Kristen don't have such a size problem as lack of space problems. I have looked at your gallery at times and you post pictures in the size range that I do. My first digital camera took the default setting pictures at about 600 to 850kb. My new one, which isn't anything close to what Warren and Kristen use, takes the defaults at 850kb to 1.6mb depending on the background and such. I did set it to the top resolution once just to see what happened and I believe that picture was somewhere in the 5 to 6mb range. And I just have a cheap Olympus 7.1 mega pixel with 10 power zoom. One of the storage sites I looked at allowed pictures up to 2mb I believe it is to be loaded if you bought space on there and there was no limit to the amount of space you can use. For people that upload tons of pictures that are large, I think that would be the way to go. I use the free part of Photo Bucket and just link to any place I want to have the picture appear, plus anyone can go in and view the pictures I have posted. Two other sites that are good and worth the $30 dollars per year are Flicker and Fotki. Also their free area is good.

In one of the menus on your camera you will have a screen that says resolution, Image Quality, or something like that. In my case, mine is Image Quality. When you open that screen you will see different settings, including the default one which is normally near the middle range or a little on the high side. Different brands word the settings differently. Mine has a table that shows the settings and how many pictures you can get on different size cards with each setting. I printed out the whole 95 page instructions for my camera as the manual that came with it is worthless.

On my camera, when I press the MENU button, there is a list to chose off the menu. The picture size is called "Image Mode" on my camera.
The options are:
TV screen (640 x 480 Pixel size) = approx 65 KB
PC screen (1024 x 768 Pixel size) = approx 130 KB
3M Normal (2048 x 1536 Pixel size) = approx 570 KB
5M Normal (2592 x 1944 Pixel size) = approx 860 KB
5M High (2592 x 1944 Pixel size) = approx 1050 KB
The High setting is great if you want to print 8 by 10 glossy, but a waste of storage space for viewing it on a PC screen.
