Neat way to do it Warren.
For all your vacations you look to be short a few hundred shots.
Your Flowerbed Guard Turtle seems to be neglected as usual too.
Where is the album for Ron's trees ???

I still have to resize a lot of photos, cuz I'm at about 88 megs now.

Same situation as your Ho sisters. At least Turtle gets a bath every so often, but its a white bath right now.

Kristen,
There just is not enough space on the CC servers for everyone and no one wants to downsize their pictures as they want to brag about how good their camera is and how big of a picture it will take. You don't want to use a photo hosting site, so you have two choices. Either clean out your gallery and get it down to a size that you can post or leave as is and go to a hosting site and post your pictures and stories and put a link in your post or even better yet in your signature line so it will appear on every post. Believe me, the moderators have a lot of patience to put up with some of the stuff I have seen posted. Myself I prefer the photo hosting sites as they have no limits to the amount you post and it takes maybe 20 seconds to add a direct link to them which in no different than the camera icon here. If they allowed the wealthy people to buy unlimited space they would slow the club to a crawl and force out all those who can't afford to buy space. Also a couple of the main complainers, not you, should use some of that money to hire a teacher and learn to read as the stricky's have been there for nearly 3 years. If you need help I would be happy as would Fred and Warren to help you, but you aren't going to get more space on CC. This is not meant to offend you in any way and I apologize if it does, but it is a fact of life.
Ron

Good morning world. Got about 1/2 inch of snow last night, before the Mt Shasta Goddess wimped out of here. Temp now 36°F and supposed to rain this AM ... and wash the snow away.
Ahaaaaa ... defeat the Mt Shasta Goddess. I heard that some parts of MI had over a foot of snow. Maybe in Tru's driveway?
Time for some breakfast.

Warren'
Don't gloat yet. That was just the first very light warning of what is to come. She is storing the snow up to dump it in one huge bunch. Better forget the walk along snow blower and get a truck with a big one. And don't forget to brace the walls of your tunnel rom the house to the garage or street. Bring Turtle inside as he isn't made to be covered for months by that much snow. Tru is doing a snow direction ritual and pointing in your direction.

Warren,
Well I started working on my first Album this morning. Lost the comments but that isn't important. If anyone wants to make any they can look in the folder and make them. I am downsizing some of my pictures and leaving a couple at the regular size. Some of them I don't have copies of as other people took them, so for now I will leave them in the regular Gallery also and then try to download the largest size to see if it is worth putting on a CD to keep. I may bring a few over from Photo Bucket later on. They have 1 gig of free space so I can store more there but I just don't post a lot of pictures. with no Cobra, it is hard to get any good pictures. The 69 gets lots of looks and comments but I am just feeling to bad to get it out much any more.

anybody having trouble seeing pictures in the 'garage' section???
I have deleted a few more pictures, and will resize most of the remaining.
I tried to keep one or two from each small event, and several from larger events, like Austin, Tulsa, run n gun, London, etc.
I will also use Snapfish to link, like you did Ron in your signature.
I don't really care anymore right now. I don't have time for this.
thanks for the explainations, and of course i don't take offense! We are all friends in here.
really, my gripe is this: I joined almost 4 years ago, and just started uploading pictures. I had NO IDEA anything about pixels, sizes, kb's, meg's, nothing. Just bought a digital camera two days after i got the Cobra and started taking pictures. Uploaded to computer, then straight to here.
There were no limits, I guess. If there were... I'm sure i would have been told at that time to resize, or i would have gotten 'error messages' that my space was full.
I guess what i'm saying is, the rules are changing in the middle of the game and it is hard for me to follow it.
I UNDERSTAND now the reasoning and logic behind the change, but certainly don't like it.
I would have certainly made every effort to LEARN how to resize 3 1/2 years ago if that was the requirement 'back then'.
Changing horses in the middle of the stream--- comes to mind, but i realize the site has grown immensely and it cannot accommodate tens of thousands of pictures.
I realize i am probably part of the problem- not a lot of posters put up 'photo essay's' and such, and i come along and post stories and photo essay's at every event.
Now lots of people post stories and essay's, and the gallery load/bandwidth evidently is too large.
I get it, but again, feel chastised wrongly for commenting in a couple of 'all cobra talk' threads. I feel I was being polite, funny in my 'complaints'. I don't appreciate being scolded when i wasn't being rude or attacking.
oh well i have a lot to do this week and if i take a little break from CC all the better.
I spent several hours at school yesterday decorating the halls with 'Christmasy decorations' for the State Final on Saturday.
We did a theme of 'Santa Baby, Bring me a Ring' (as in a state football ring) it was very cute!
I have a lot of things to do for Christmas, like buy decorations for my house (tossed out several lights and things last year) and also shop for presents.
This football thing is great, but really eating into my weekend time to get things done!
Peter is supposed to have an 'eagle board of review' Friday night, but that must be postponed. His Eagle Project paperwork is scattered all over the pool table, waiting for me to tabulate his volunteers' hours. A never ending job!
I am very glad to be so involved in their life; and if the car life has to take a back seat for awhile then that's ok.
ttyl.
k
we are all friends!!!
Ron... will you check on the garage photo situation??
thanks!

Its white right now Tru. Got about an inch, but its melting now with temp about 38°F and intermittent rain.
My Momma didn't raise no fool ... I ain't going out in the rain to take a lousy dark picture. Besides, its nice and warm inside.

Tru,
That melting snow Warren is bragging about will be 2" of ice in the morning. He is doomed to a very bad Winter and keeps pretending if he says it won't happen it won't.

Kristen,
Don't go and get all mushy on us now. we have the Ho Sisters for that. When I joined there were stricter limits than now and then remember we had the major server crash. It is not an easy job to dig everything out and get all new software back online and not miss a couple of things that don't affect service. I have always downsized my picture, but not as much as maybe I should have because I knew that on the Internet you don't need Mb size pictures. However after the crash and Brent forget to close the gate, everyone posted every picture they took and no one bothered to read what Ron(CW) posted or even tried downsizing. Not you, but a couple of the biggest whiners seem to have the idea that because they have cameras that take 5 MG pictures, they should be able to buy all the space they want and while it is crawling along loading those huge worthless for the web pictures everyone else can just go somewhere else. The ones that know you understand that you really didn't know about this and Jamo acknowledged that in his post that you at least apologized to Ron. Besides you donate to the cub and just as when it was down during the crash the biggest complainers were the ones who hadn't donated a penny. Well they can buy space on Snapfish, Fotki, Photo shop, and several others. I am in the process of putting some of my pictures in Albums here on CC and am downsizing them even farther except for one or two, and I don't have copies of them as they were taken by other people and sent to me. And as Ron(CW) said, the gallery is just an addition to the site, this is not a picture hosting site. If you have problems e-mail or call me and we will get them taken care of. Just take a drink, in your case maybe a huge one, and relax.

There does seem to be a problem with the displays in the Garage section. I tried several, Jamos. Pats, Brents, and people that I know would have them in correctly and all you get is the text explaining the red Xs where the pictures should be.

Question for Warren,
Warren, didn't I see some where in all the ranting on All cobra Talk that Ron told you some site that you had named wouldn't link to here? I have been reading all the threads again and can't find it But I thought then I should mark it down in case anyone tries it and can't get it to work. Or was that another of my mixed up dreams of all the snow you have coming?

Hmmmmm. I do not recall any site that will not link to CC, but you might be right. If anyone tests various sites, maybe we should have a sticky thread on Web Photo linking sites.
I do not want just a link, so someone has to open another window. I want the pic to show as a picture on the CC thread. I tried it on Photo Bucket and it did work.
My huge 1 inch of snow is all gone. Been raining all day. Spent the last 4 hours working on my photo gallery.

Just took a look at you Misc Photos and noticed Dino on your coupe. So you have little furry dinosaurs, just like Fred's Frogs, eh?
Turtles outlived dinosaurs and can whip frogs at will.

Fred,
The first album came out well. I have two now and I think a 3rd one will just about clear the few things I had scattered in m gallery. I had so many junk pictures when I started to put the albums in that is is amazing at how much space I will have. I still have several pictures of my former Cobra that are now in the album to delete out of the gallery. I guess we will have to send Warren down to Kristen's and he can sit in front of her computer in the WARM weather and do hers so he will be out of all that snow and ice he has coming his way.

Warren,
I know that there is one place that the pictures will link and then vanish. I think it is a Yahoo site. I tried it once and one time you opened the post the pictures would be there and the next time they would be gone. I believe I asked Ron what was going on as the link seemed to be changing and there was something about that site not having a static link and when you went there unless you were on a list you just got whatever connection was available. Maybe we should start looking at the picture storage places and see if we can narrow them down to some easy to use ones. I know some that have free areas but most don't allow a lot of space. Fotki only allows 50MB in the free area, but if you pay it is unlimited. Others have limits even on the pay parts.
