Tru,

I went to the dentist yesterday morning and had two teeth fixed that had loose fillings. Then this morning, in the SNOW I took the Comet up and had the exhaust pipe replaced where the hole was. It is cold and snowing now and we have about 1/2 inch on the ground. The back streets without much traffic are starting to get slushy and slick now. If the weather isn't bad I have to go back to Redding Saturday, but will wait and see what the weather is like.

Edit To Add; Snowing like all get out. Flakes look like quarters and there is at least 2 1/2 to 3 inches on the ground. The streets are staring to get covered now. I just made it back from Redding in the nick of time. Warren, can I borrow your snow blower?

Ron

All of the snow is melting. It is like 50 outside.

But, this is Michigan, in the next 24 hours it may snow, rain or be sunny.

Ron,
They said on the news here that your snowfall would be measured in "feet not inches".

I know you really need it for the lake to recover. It would be hell if you don't get some fill back in that lake.

WOW RON !!!

Those pictures look pretty bad .That forecast should be for Warren & Tru.

I'm kind of worried about your Thistle crop.

Shouldn't you be putting out smudge pots ???
You know the kind they burn in the orange groves when it freezes.

Fred,

The snow at this level stopped at about 3" and then froze. I think they got a few feet up in the mountains and are almost up to 87% of the normal snow pack. But after five dry years, they need all they can get up there. The lake is starting to show signs of coming up finally. Today's forecast was for rain off and on so it will most likely just be sunny and cold since yesterdays forecast was for rain and no mention of snow all day even when it was coming down like mad. The Thistle crop will survive. They would survive a nuclear war.

Steve,

We could use quite a bit more rain. But as cold as it is I am afraid if it does try to rain it will turn to snow. That storm from yesterday left here late in the evening heading East. Tru & Warren had better get their snow equipment out.

Good morning world.

High winds and rain today. Its already up to 41°F, so no snow.

I have an eye doctors appointment this afternoon ... and if there is any change in my eyesight, I'm blaming Fred's new avatar.

Warren,

It is 32 here this morning with more rain and snow in the forecast. But that probably means a nice, cold, sunny day. Good luck at the eye doctor. I have my yearly appointment in May I think it is and will probably have to have my lens changed as I haven't had to in the last 3 years. I assume you will be driving the Cobra to the eye doctors.

Incredible wind all night long.

Nice snow Ron. Looks like a November day here in Michigan.

I haven't sent in my money yet, but I will shortly.

GOOD MORNING!!!

Tru,

Well it is morning at least. I swear it feels as if it is 20 below here this morning. Our forecast, which is never correct, is calling for rain and snow today. It is to cold to snow. I think we are starting an ice age here now.

Now that is a nice picture. It is light here now and all I can see is snow which is frozen and dark, gray clouds. No wind thank goodness.

Be honest - this is more like it (although that is a nice shot of your Cobra).

Real men drive their Cobra in the winter.

Thanks for the compliment on the shot.

I am not sure real men would drive their cobra in 9 degree weather with a -10 windchill factor, but I am sure they would freeze vital parts if they did.

It is so bad up north, MTU shut down because of the "raging blizzard".

GOOD MORNING!!!

We had a ton of wind yesterday. I had to go searching for my trash can after they emptied it. The wind picked it up and took it down the street. It also uprooted a tree that landed on some power lines knocking the power out for a little while. I was home sick yesterday, and was going to make some chicken noodle soup when the power went out. That sucked.

Joe,

I saw some of the storms on TV and read about them in the paper. Boy, am I happy we don't have that kind of weather. It is cold to us here but this would be a mild day to what some of you are having. I believe they said in upstate New York it was around 18 below.

Dang Joe, I hope things get better there.

The wind is so bad here, the windchill drops to -15.

Well it was nice upper 60s before the wind blew, I guess it was riding a fast moving cold front. I went out this morning to feed my dog and his water was frozen. I had to chip it away so I could give him fresh. So much for the nice weather we were having. Not much wind anymore.
