Joe,

Isn't it strange how the weeds can thrive and grow so much faster than grass. I quit watering my lawns during the Summer here several years ago because of the water problem and all I have is dust and a lot of weeds. But the weeds seem to do just as well without water.

Weeds?

You all have weeds?

My weeds are white and gray mounds. And, there could be more tonight. I am right on the edge of not wanting any more snow. I wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong impression, but I have had a lot of snow.

Yes it is raining really good right now but we could always use the rain. It is a wonderful day.

Yea it is in the 70s and thunder storms here now. We don't get much snow here in Texas. A light dusting this year so far. It was gone by noon around me.

Steve, I hope you get visited by 1000 fleas...all at once.

Flip, I am just envious.

It is 35 outside and overcast. I think we are supposed to get 1 - 3 inches.

Wow, everyone is having great weather. The wind here quit yesterday and I got the lawns mowed and today it has just a light overcast but is in the upper 60s. Just right to be outside as it isn't to hot. And we have snow about 8 miles from my house. I look over there every once in a while as I am doing yard work and think of Tru not having to do any mowing as his is covered. Lucky guy.

The only way today could have been better is if the temp reported was °C rather than °F. Sucky day. Leg hurts even more.

Just had 3 baby back ribs as my first course. Now I'm heating up chicken tenders, egg rolls, squash and house fried rice. Ummmmmm smells good.

The luck of the Irish last night with the Celtics win. Now that was a good game. Celtics on tonight on TNT. Houston on 22 game winning streak, but will be all over by midnight. Guess I'll have to sleep til noon tomorrow.

Warren ,
YUK. I HATE squash. Makes me sick just typing the word. I can just look at it at the store and barf.

TRU,
My Paw-in-Law owns a pest control business, no flies around here. Thanks for the well wishes though.

Steve
I'll send you some of my butternut squash. I cook it up and include sugar and nutmeg and a few other spices. It is really excellent. Much better than any restaurant. When I cook it, I make about 6 to 8 lbs, and then freeze it in small plastic containers (about 1 cup each). Then I have plenty for at least a month or two.

Now off to bed without any dessert for not eating your squash. I also will not have time to read you a nice bedtime story ..... its a mystery.

Just looked at the weather forecast. It shows showers for today and tomorrow and I just finished all of my mowing yesterday. That means I will have to do it all over again in a few days. And I have to get my gas cans filled as I used the last yesterday. Oh well, it beats shoveling snow.

Heavy thunderstorms here yesterday and the lake is overflowing its banks now. We were in a drought for several years, but last years rain brought the lakes up to capacity and then some. Now this year they have not dropped at all and the rains have come back again and floods again. Luckily I live just outside the flood plain (less than 1/2 mile, but up out of the valley). Still raining this morning, but it is supposed to stop.
