I see one person in Warren, but nobody in Fred. Does that mean anything?
Just woke up at 9:30 AM. Maybe I should just skip breakfast, take a nap and then have lunch. Terrible rainy day. Snowing about 30 miles north, but its all the way up to a balmy 36°F here.

Just Googled Warren TX, and there are 351 people in that town. But the same list did not show a Fred TX. Maybe its a ghost town?

Warren,
Are you sure that wasn't 35 turtles and 1 person in Warren, Texas?
Edit To Add: Statistic for Fred, Texas:
The town started out with a modest population of 30, which exploded to 75 by 1913. Fred had a population of 349 in the late 60s but it declined to 239 in 1990. The 2000 census shows a population of 299.

Morning all
I got a damn ticket (warning ticket) last night. At 1:15 AM today it is dated and timed.
It says it is for parking more than 18" from the curb. However if I put my foot between the tire and the curb my shoe touches both the curb and the tire. I am parked about 4" from the curb. So I have no idea what they are talking about.
I have not moved the truck but I took some pictures. Can't post them because of the gallery issues but I have them. I know this is just a warning ticket and cost nothing but it really chaps my ass when the police are doing stupid stuff like this when there is real crime going on in the city at the same time.
I have said for years that the police will ALWAYS go after the victims in a crime because we are easier to catch. This just proves once again I am right.
Must be a rookie cop with nothing better to do.

Steve, is this another one of your "make a living without working" deals? You should not park your truck while filling the leg.
Ron, you need to cover for Fred as long as you do not drag Joe or HLC into it.
Well, it snowed 4 inches at my place last night, I hope it all melts by the end of the day.

Steve,
Isn't it nice to know the police are so vigilant that they can take time to measure how many inches you are from the curb while some idiot runs a red light with a cellphone. I just saw in the paper that the new census crap has already cost them millions and they may have to go back to pen and paper because the people taking the census can't figure out how to use the new improved do everything units they have bought. I wonder of the people in charge ever thought about training them to use that stuff.
Tru,
It is cold and overcast here today and they say we will have rain by this afternoon. It is way to cold for me to be out anyway. Darn this dropping from the 70s to the 30s.

Hey You just got lucky on that one. I wouldn't ask for trouble around here, you'll get it I almost spit my drink all over the PC when I read that. Funny...

It is really frustrating that since the police are loosing their money from taking down the red light cameras, they have started writing tickets for ANYTHING. They wrote a ticket to one of our neighbors for not having a tailgate on his truck. The truck bed was empty and nothing could have fallen out. The police said since it came with one he was required to have one. How stupid is that?

Sorry, I thought that this was kinda like AA, but for horsepower addictions.
That is a retarded ticket. I question the legality of the statement if it came with it it must have it. That is like saying that you cannot modify a vehicle at all. I know Oakland passed some ordinance a while back to that effect, but I don't know if it held up. Here, I have never heard that. I am curious to what the actual citation was (what vehicle code was listed as being violated). I know one guy who got a ticket for a trailer. The trailer was not tracking strait (he was taking it in to have it fixed) and the cop said that was the reason he was getting the ticket. When he actually looked up the citation, the vehicle code violated was for lights. He got a lawyer, fought it and won. It is messed up that the cop told him it was for something other than what it was for. The lights worked without issue on the trailer, and I believe the cop wanted to cite him as he thought the trailer was unsafe, and he just used a code and didn't expect him to question it.

Steve,
For parking you might drive down to the police station and do this. I was at work when this actually happened at the downtown Redding office and one of the guys called me. The company leased four or five parking spots in a parking lot next to the main office and they had a guy working there that they had borrowed from out of town. They had a 2nd level supervisor that was universally hated by all the local telephone company people, even the outside people and he was an ass I guess. Anyway they had sent this guy to get something and when he came back he parked the company car in the spot it was in. This supervisor came in yelling about it not being parked straight in the parking spot, but according to the person telling me this it was within the lines. He said this guy just looked at the supervisor and got a ruler and went out into the parking lot and spent two hours moving and measuring until he got the car with all 4 wheels the exact same distance from the side lines and the front and back of the parking spot. I guess the supervisor almost had a stroke as this was a public lot and they had quite a group from what I understood watching by the time he finished. When he went back inside the supervisor started to say something and the guy telling me the story said this guy told him to shut up and if he ever spoke to him again like that they would be digging his head out of the garbage. So maybe if you drove to the local police lot and spent sometime measuring and making sure your wheels are just the correct distance they would get the hint.
Heck, I was down at Jacks one day last Summer talking to a guy I know who had inherited a lot of money and he had bought a brand new Ford of some kind. Anyway he got a call from his wife that a CHP officer was going to arrest her and have the vehicle towed as it was to long for the highway. Now that CHP officer is in the Bay Area somewhere.

The ticket for the missing tailgate was for an unsafe vehicle on public streets. The cop said it was unsafe since part of the body structure was missing and that crash test would need to be performed to verify that the vehicle was still safe to drive when it is missing any of the body pieces it was originally tested with.
What a crock, huh.
If the guy spends the money for an attorney it will cost more than the fine itself, that is what the PD is hoping for I suppose. He may just fight it himself. If he sets a court date and then cancels it the morning off the hearing, for about three years or so the ticketing cop will no longer be employed and the case will be dropped. Again what a pain in the ass.
As for the warning ticket I got I am not going to do anything. I just took some pictures and if it happens again I will file a harassment complaint against the cop. I hate to do that but he needs to get a life and go catch the bad guys.
Like I said they chase the victims because they are easier to catch.

Hey I remember I was at a car show with my Cobra once and some clown cam by and was rapping on the car and telling his bimbo that it wasn't real.
I asked him what in the hell he was doing and he reached over and knocked on the fender and said, "well it isn't real..is it"
I said, "Listen, it is as real as the damn knot that is going to be on your forehead if you touch this car again"
He tells his girlfriend, "come on, I can tell when we aren't welcome"

Steve,
Remember Warren has been on vacation not to long ago, so he knows which direction to look for the sun. Tru could probably make it as a guide in the An-Arctic now.
Darn, it is starting to sprinkle here.

Are you sure its sprinkling from the clouds and not from the Mt Shasta Goddess?
Its 35°F here and been raining lightly all day. Maybe the baby-back ribs I'm cooking in the oven now will at least make the evening better.
