Warren,
You flatter them. I would not have lowered monkeys to that level. The G-Mail works great but I am keeping the Yahoo mail as I have so many people all over that have that address and everything on it works except through this site and the ClubHotRod site. Also it makes a god throw away address if I start getting crap through it as I can just delete the account and open another under a different name. I set it to forward any e-mails to my Yahoo inbox and also keep a copy in the G-Mail inbox. Still playing with some of the features on it as they have some that I am not familiar with.
I have an ingrown toe nail and think I am going to have to call my doctor and have it cut out. I have fought it for a week now and it just gets worse and I can't even put on my regular shoes as it hurts so bad.

I had SBC Yahoo a few years back and I got rid of the service. I still keep the email address as I still use the IM client and I use it as a junk email box. When I have to sign up for anything, I use that email. When I verify that I am not getting a bunch of junk email, I change my email address.

Good Morning World. Sounds like you have a plan Ron.
Today there is a special promotion at Walgreen's. They refill printer cartridges, and you can get one free refill today. Since I have 4 Walgreen's within 6 miles of my house, I'm glad I have not sent in the empties for a while. For the $15 to $25 cost of new ones, I'll try their refill service. Must be a lot cheaper than buying new ones. I wonder what the quality is like ... we will soon find out.

Spring has sprung. Noticed some of my bulbs flowered when I took a ride yesterday.

Joe,
Unfortunately AT&T/Yahoo is the only DSL available here at the present time. And it only became available about 4 years ago. I have checked with other services and this area is just to spread out and not enough people for them to even think about extending their service up here. Verizon did offer to sell me a cell phone that I could get on the Internet with if I had Internet service already.

or the day before yesterday? Nice shot with the Boston skyline in the distance.
or a house in Milton, about 5 miles from my house. George Bush (the elder) was born in this house.

Warren,
Nice pictures and I am happy that the weather is good enough for you to start taking rides again. I wish I had my Cobra back and hadn't sold it but that is long past an no need to dwell on past stupidity.

Yea, I know about having only 1 option. The only high speed in my area is a wireless provider. It is either that or go with Satellite and that is so expensive to setup.

Joe,
I already have a satellite set up, but to go with that for my Internet I don't really care for. The signal is lost to often here due to bad weather. They did have one wireless company come in here and they lasted about 2 months. You have to be within three blocks of one of their repeaters and it just wasn't feasible when people are scattered for miles in the mountains around here. And the few that did try them said the service really was bad and that their techs wouldn't even try to help. The only problem I have now is I can't receive e-mail from here or Brent's other clubs which I believe use the sane servers. All the rest of my e-mail works from all sites and places.

Sounds like the wireless was the standard that I have seen several try. The guy I go though only has a few repeaters and he gets up to a 12 mile radius from 1 antenna. He only provides service up to 6 miles to help ensure that no-one is on the outer fringes and gets a poor signal from that. I agree on the signal interuptions for satellite. That is what I have for TV as well since that is all that is available. I do not believe that you can use the same dish for it.

Joe,
Yes, according to my satellite provider you do need a different dish for their DSL service. Also a different one if you go to the Hi Def TV, plus a different receiver. Your wireless provider is far superior to any that I have seen try to set up in this area. And with all of the mountains and people scattered all through them it just isn't worth the money to put in a good wireless service. I like living away for the big populated areas but it does have some down sides to it also. Like getting anything for a car. You have to have almost everything ordered as the few parts stores around here just won't stock much.

Tru,
You should get this one quickly:
TO ALL MY FRIENDS
I am only sending this to my smart friends. I could not figure it out
and had to look at the answer. See if you can figure out what these words
have in common.
Banana
Dresser
Grammar
Potato
Revive
Uneven
Assess
Are you peeking or have you already given up?
Give it another try . . .
You will kick yourself when you discover the answer.
Go back and look at them again; think hard.
OK . . Here You Go . . . Hope You Didn't Cheat.
Answer: No, it is not that they all have at least 2 double letters.
In all of the words listed, if you take the first letter, place it at the
end of the word, and then spell the word backwards, it will be the same
word.
Did you figure it out? Even if you didn't, don't worry. Just send it to
more people and stump them; then, you'll feel better, too.

I took this pic a couple of days ago. I could not get the Cobra close enough, so I just took the pic without it. This is not part of a castle but an old water tower located on the top of the Third Hill, also known as Forbes Hill, located in the Wollaston section of Quincy. The water tower was built around 1900 and held 330,000 gallons of water in addition to a reservoir that held up to five million gallons of water. Quincy presently receives it's drinking water from Quabbin Reservoir, about 75 miles away. During World War II, the Civil Air Patrol used the tower as an observation deck. This site is now used as a recreational area for soccer, dog walking, and other activities.

Warren,
Nice picture and interesting history. Until about 13 years ago Cottonwood, a small town about 20 miles South of here had a similar tower except it was built of wood and never had the castle like top. But instead of preserving it, they argued about it until it finally collapsed and they had to remove it. There was an door at the bottom and the insides were covered by shingles. Inside was an old wooden stairs that went up to the big wood tank and I think it only held about 60,000 gallons but made a good picture. Now I can't find one of them to save my life. That is an old cow town and they still have the hitch rings and places where they had to tie their horses when they came into town to the one saloon.

Cool water tower.
Ron,
I live just far enough out of the city to have many of the benefits of a small town, but just close enough that I can make a run into the heavily populated areas without too much trouble.

Looks like they also use it for a radio tower.
