It was 88 here yesterday and supposed to be about the same today. This is nice, but it is the jumping straight into the real heat that I dread.

Dang it all, the ground is covered in white and the flakes are still coming down.
I might add, it is a bit nippy outside.

Good morning Tru,
Well we made our 87 yesterday and it is supposed to hit 88/90 today with tomorrow dropping back into the 60s and a slight chance of some light showers in the afternoon, and then back up to 90. And I can drive about 12 miles and be in the snow as the hills on the other side of the dam are still covered with snow. It is great to have 80/90 degree weather with snow that close. Love to look at it.

This should have been posted in the Joke thread but the last few posts are anything but jokes. And it is nice to know that things are still much the same as when I lived down there. By the way, a person who lives in Fresno sent me this.
This happened on a flight ready to depart for Fresno, California.
Jack was sitting when a guy took the seat beside him. The guy was an emotional wreck, pale, hands shaking, moaning in fear. 'What's the matter?' Jack asked.
'I've been transferred to Fresno, there's nothing but crazy people there. I hear they have a lot of shootings, gangs, race riots, drugs, illegals, poor public schools, crowded Wal-Marts, and a high crime rate'
Jack replied, 'I've lived in Fresno all my life It's not as bad as the media says. Find a nice home, go to work, mind your own business and enroll your kids in a nice private school. It's as safe a place as anywhere in the world.'
The guy finally relaxed and said, 'Thank you. I've been worried to death, but if you live there and say it's OK, I'll take your word for it.
By the way, what do you do for a living?'
'Me?' said Jack. 'I'm a tail gunner on a Budweiser truck.'

OK, since you have hi-jacked this thread with a joke ....
'YOU MAY BE A TALIBAN IF......'
1. You refine heroin for a living, but you have a moral objection to beer.
2. You own a $3,000 machine gun and $5,000 rocket launcher, but you can't afford shoes.
3. You have more wives than teeth.
4. You wipe your butt with your bare left hand, but consider bacon 'unclean.'
5. You think vests come in two styles: bullet-proof and suicide.
6. You can't think of anyone you HAVEN'T declared Jihad against.
7. You consider television dangerous, but routinely carry explosives in your clothing.
8. You were amazed to discover that cell phones have uses other than setting off roadside bombs.
9. You have ever uttered the phrase, 'I love what you've done with your cave.'
10. You have nothing against women and think every man should own at least one.
11. You bathe at least monthly whether necessary or not.
12. You have ever had a crush on your neighbor's goat.

Just read an article in the Sunday paper about large companies expanding their "bottled water" plants. The lead of the article is McCloud, CA. Isn't that close to Mt Shasta/Shasta lake?
They want to bottle up to 521 million gallons of water per year.

Just received a photo of one the Humpin' Ho Sisters' relatives.
He lives out in West Texas in the Davis Mountains.
I guess being horney runs in their family.

Just checked out the weather, and the phase of the moon is "Waxing Gibbous".
I do not know about any of the reprobates on this web site, but I've never waxed my Gibbous.

Warren,
We have had Mcloud bottled water here for years and it is just out of Mt. Shasta City, a few miles East. When I worked for P.G. & E., we stopped in there every evening for a burger and something to drink. A small sort of laid back city if it is large enough to call that. Now that we have I-5 all the way, it isn't a very long drive from here.
WARNING All water bottled in that area must be approved by the Mt. Shasta Goddess. If She sees it is going to you, beware.

Warren,
I wasn't trying to hijack the thread with a joke but when I saw what was being posted in the joke thread I just thought I didn't want to get into the middle of it. Don't turn this thread into a joke thread. Start a new one or find the other one and bring it back to the first page. I am just so tired of almost everything that anyone posts being picked apart by someone that I am more than willing to leave the site for good. I don't have a Cobra, I am an idiot, I don't know anything about anything, and the list e-mails goes on and on. And sadly they are correct. I don't even bother to answer them. It used to be fun here but now I am afraid to post anything as I just don't know how it is going to be taken and I am not going to precede every post with an explanation of what it means. Getting blamed for posting a headline to a news article is really going to far. If they don't like what the paper wrote, then e-mail them not me, I never wrote it.

Cold here this morning 37* with a frost warning. It was just in the 80s a couple days ago, this is why I can't seem to get rid of this cold.

Joe,
It has been in the upper 80s here the past couple of days but is supposed to drop into the 70s for the next day or so. I think almost everyone around here has a cold from the rapid changes in temperatures and all of the pollen flying around. Get well soon.

I don't really feel bad, just a lot of sneezing and sinus pressure. I did not want to get out of bed this morning though. I was sleeping good,

Joe,
I never want to get out of bed. I have sinus problems too, but I can't use that as an excuse. I am just lazy.

Ron, I am not sure anyone could "hijack" this thread.
All the snow is gone, but the cold remains. I understand it may go to 65 on Wed.

Happy Post #5000 to me! What prize do I win?

Warren,
I knew that. I just have to agree with Tru. How can you hijack this thread? It is all over the spectrum. But still a lot of fun. I see that more than I use the Ignore List.
Edit To Add: Weather is not what they said it would be. It is cold and very dark overcast now. And I was thinking of going in and looking at some of the cars as they started the show and shines yesterday and have at least one a day for the rest of the week. I suppose it will be lousy now that the car show week is here.

Seeing Warren posting here this morning reminded me of a meeting I hope to have with the Mayor of Lajitas. They remind me of each other.
Lajitas is just down the road a couple of miles from Terlingua, toward the Rio Grande.
In the early 1900's General "Black Jack" Pershing set up a U.S. Calvery post here to deal with Poncho Villa.
Anyway , the Current Mayor is Henry Clay III.Both his grandfather and father were Mayors of Lajitas as well.
Sadly both are rumored to have died of liver failure.
It is said that the current Mayor Clay doesn't say a whole lot worth listening to but is able to drink more beer than you are willing to pay for.
Mayor Clay had a slight mishap at the hands of a political rival a couple of years ago.
Apparently this guy has been running for Mayor of Lajitas for quite a number of years and losing. With the third generation of Clay's now holding The Office,he went over the deep end and decided to make sure there wasn't a fourth generation beating him at the Ballot Box.
He castrated poor Mayor Clay !!!
The main similarity is that Henry Clay III is an OLD GOAT.
