All this talk about 98, 101 and 110 °F has got me sweating. I think all of you guys should move to Death Valley. Then you could really *itch.
Its 60°F outside. Maybe I'll go for a ride this afternoon, but I'll probably have to wear a jacket. Brrrrrrrrrrr. Maybe even wear my driving gloves. Sunny and 65°F tomorrow.
Ron - my lawn service just cut my lawn. It's only $25 every other week. Bunch of Brazilian guys do a great job. Cut, edge, and blow off the driveway and walk. They probably are all illegals, but they do about 5 lawns on my street. They do not understand English, so if I want anything special, I always call the owner of the company (100% American) and he translates info to workers.

Thanks Fred. We started in October and worked until the winter. Started up again last weekend and finished this weekend. The different sizes is an optical illusion. There are only 2 different ones and they are made to fit together like that.

Warren, you better rest up. backs are not to be messed with.
Joe, that looks very nice. Is the swing the wife's idea?
Fred, I can not see 100 feet tall masts. Are you sure they are that tall?
Going to 80 on Friday...figured we would work towards Ron's range of temperatures, but I understand it is very warm where Ron is.

Yea, she bought that as soon as we bought the house. It was in the back yard and assembled before we moved in. . The patio idea first came from wanting to put it on something so it would stop sinking into the ground. After deciding to put it on some pavers, we decided to take the patio all the way to the fence.

Fred, I just checked and the regulation is 106.74 feet of mast. Wow that is a tall mast.
My wife wants one, Joe. I can not let her see your post.

The swing or patio? The swing was not that bad. It only cost about $90 I think and took about an 1 1/2 hours to assemble when I had no clue to what I was doing.

And these boats are only 90 feet too.Bigger the boat, the taller the mast. The sails are horsepower.More boat, more horsepower.
Also, the foot of the main sail (base of sail) on these boats are running about 30 feet,+/-.
This is why I believe the sails on the car are scale of the full sails.

Tru
I saw quite a few nice swings while I was walking thru Lowe's a while ago.
Swings & Gliders
I bought a roll-around hammock. Really nice. Only takes about 5 minutes to fall asleep on a nice day.

I found the numbers, 75 feet long and 106 feet tall...plus the hull of the boat.
It is down right chilly outside and we haven't had summer yet.

Steve,
I can't even find anyone around here to hire to do the mowing. I even called the fire department to see if they had a list of kids or people and they don't. So I did get out in this 102, humid, 3" deep dust and mow the upper driveway and out in front. that upper lot was just more than I could take as I was getting dizzy and starting to see funny things. Tomorrow it is only supposed to be around 98 but I wouldn't bet on that. Gads, the dust is really deep around here and that mower looks like a bomb went off when I run over a bare patch of ground. I would throw it in the lake to wash it off but the lake is to shallow to cover it.

Just got back from WSCB and wanted to say hi. Man was that FUN, it was a little on the hot side 101* on Saturday.

Just look in the local newspaper. I counted 15 companies that mowed lawns. I'm sure there are a lot more in the yellow pages.

Warren,
Not here. I tried the newspaper before and called several lawn and handy men and they don't want to work in the heat. The ones that list in the Yellow Pages want to do complete landscaping such as installation of sprinklers and so forth and charge a fortune. And I have gone to see tow places that two of the companies did and the work was lousy. Sprinkler heads broke after the first use, lines leaked, and so forth. I don't have the money to spend for that kind of crappy work. So I will continue to do my own mowing.

I just received a bunch of pictures from my cousin in Arkansas and they had taken the Cobra to their big car show. He said that this year they just picked the top 50 cars and awarded them plaques and they got another one. The only Cobra in the top 50. Now I really miss it more.
Edit To add picture of my cousin & his wife with the car. He said the newspaper also took pictures of it and did an article on it.

Ron, your car looks good. I think you should have kept it in your garage.
Warren, are you thinking of going into the lawn mowing business?

Fred,
They have cleaned and worked on that car with Wet Paint ever since they got it. The white is so bright that you can't hardly look at it directly in the sunlight.
I talked to rich last night and he said all of the dams around there were within 4 to 8 inches of the top and that they had to flood part of Branson to let some water out and have told the people there to not fix their houses yet as they are going to have to do it again. He said one of the larger dams had backed water up so far that it is covering a smaller dam and its lake. He also sent pictures of their front yard and what a mess from all of the blown over trees.

Tru
I used to cut lawns when I was a kid. Two dollars, and three if you wanted the clippings raked up and removed. About 35 years ago, I hired a local kid to cut my grass and he is still doing a good job. He now has 4 trucks with trailers, tons of equipment and probably a dozen guys working for him.
