Warren,

If you pay that well I will start back there with my lawnmower. I have never been in a place like here before where you can't even hire a kid to cut grass.

Car looks good Ron.

The lawn kid here charges $25.00 a week for the works. He even does the flower beds and trims the hedges when they need it. He does not trim the large trees though but, if they are kept up with it isn't hat big of a deal. His english is very good I might add.

I have heard Ron say before there is no kids in the area that will cut the grass. I can remember when I was a kid I had all the houses on our block less the one across the street, a competitor lived there. (also my best friend) I charged $3.00 a week. If they skipped a week it cost $5.00 because of the extra work to clean up. The edging was included. That was before the days of having a weed eater, so the beds were done by hand.

During the summer, I would spend 6 days a week pushing my mower across town. I would fill up my 1 gal can every morning and be almost empty by the end of the day. At the end of the day, I paid my step mom to drive around and pick up all the bags of grass. (I got a deal because she wanted the grass for her flower gardens for mulch). I made enough in 1 summer to pay for a new mower, plenty of toys, the next year I bought my car.

I think we all mowed lawns. I did it for years.

Now, it is fix the tractor. We fix the tractor(s) and then mow.

I got my garden tilled and ready for plants.

I mowed the upper lot today and it is very humid here. It has been overcast all day and between the dust and my sweating, I was a mess when I got that finished. And now the darn yards need to be mowed again. Goats, I need Goats!!!

Yep,you need a goat.

I have a Texas Goat that might like to vacation in your yard.Works cheap,a few Lone Star Longnecks at the end of the day is fine.
After a few Longnecks his conversation is pretty engaging but a little crude.

You might need to fence off your crop of Thistle. He looks at it as if it were chocolate cake.

Fred,
Our neighbor at the farm had about ten goats. I had heard for years they would clean a place out but I figured it was just talk. I was amazed at how well they kept the yard. He had to get the vines down out of th trees but the ground was always looking good.

Ron,
If the city will let you get goats you will never have to mow again. You don't have to feed them. Just keep some water for them to drink. Our neighbor said he feed them once or twice a year to keep them helthy. he would get something from the Vet and they would eat it like candy. Meanwhile I was busting my hump on th tractor. I do miss the old New Holland though.

Ron,
here is a good article on goats as weed control for your Thistle lawn.

Yea Celtics. Hey Tru, you a Pistons fan?

Maybe a hockey fan with all the snow & ice up your way?

Ron - cement and green paint works well. I know somebody that did just that. Of course, with the check you got from the IRS, you could probably afford to use indoor/outdoor carpeting!

Steve,

I checked. No animals within the city limits except dogs and cats. Guess I will just keep mowing until I am unable and then the city can do it.

Warren,

The Celtics are lucky. The worst team that made the playoffs took them 7 games and the last team did too. Being Laker Fan, I love to see them working so hard. If every series goes the full 7 they will have played 21 games before they even get to the finals. However the Red Sox had a great game with that no hitter.

Hockey! Isn't that a kind of football played on ice where they use sticks to beat each other with? Must get a lot of exercise to keep them going.

Warren's idea of exercising.

I don't care for hockey much. You can't really watch the game for all the fights.

I know that is what many people go to hockey games for but it just doesn't do anything for me. It just doesn't mkaes sense that these clowns are always fighting.

Good morning everyone.......

Tru,
Did you get your crop in yet? From the sounds of it, Ron's crop is doing well already. The sweet wife planted some stuff here and it is doing well.

Yea, my crop of burs and thistles is really going wild. I mowed the yards last Thursday and need to mow them again today. I don't see how those things can grow so well in this heat and with no water. Grass dies immediately after it gets green. Maybe I should dig up some and send them to Iraqi.

Ron,
I think I know how you can get away with having a goat.

Just tell them he is your long lost twin brother.

I've asked a few Texans that were hockey fans what they enjoyed about the game.

They all said that what they liked best was when two northern teams took to beating each other with sticks.

GMW

They just finished taking down two gigantic trees from my neighbors yard. Impressive work. They both must have been 80 feet tall.

Its 70°F and sunny. Guess I'll have to go thru the drudgery of a ride this afternoon.

Have the horns removed and keep them groomed and tell the city folks they are dogs.

Crap like this is why I will NEVER EVER live in California. Way too many people trying to be KING, you would think they are all related to George Bush! Good Lord, man move the hell away from that armpit of a state.

Well I got the yards mowed again and it is windy so the dust was really bad. I am going to have to get out and wash my lawnmowers as you can't even tell what color they are from all of the dust. And I know the air filters have to be clogged.
