Hey, stop swearing on the website. Work is a 4 letter word.
I hear the thunderstorms coming. Got up to 87°F inland and about 82°F here along the coast. Forecast this morning was for temps in the low 70's. What a joke.
All this talk about air conditioners is getting me hot. Make sure they fix the leak Joe, and ask them to extend your warrantee out another year on anything they have to replace.

Unfortunately I have many more years to go before I can retire, so it is an everyday word for me.

Warren,
I don't believe my filter has any problems with "boobs".We are both in favor of them.
I think the problem has to do with the possible lack of quanity.

GMW,
Darn, up at 1 AM and I have to go to the eye doctor today. I will be so sleepy I will be fortunate if I can stay awake once I get into the chair. I have a feeling I am going to need new lens and that will be a fortune. Plus the gas to drive up there. I have cut my driving back a lot though. Last month I just drove the Comet 373 miles. And most of that was to Redding for medicine and to get some things I needed. I have to take the dogs in next week for their shots and I dread that.

Talked with the AC company last night and they are sending a tech out this afternoon to do the test. When she called she said that the builder said my AC was not fixed yet. She was under the impression that the guy did not do what he said he did. I told her that was not the case. I wanted the leak test and more done as I think I have a problem from when the builder put the system in and I wanted a professional to look at it at the builders cost. I informed her that I was fighting my builder over this and had no complaints with the tech that came out (even though I think he should have done the test by default, but I am not even going there). I could hear her typing away and her voice went from concerned to "bubbly". So hopefully the tech gets some notes to that effect and is not thinking I am pissed when he shows up.

Joe, smile when he arrives.
Steve, some units ( like the ones in the north ), run the small blower before anything is allowed to run.
Ron, hope the drive is good. Will the puppies stay home?
Fred, I think I would have to screen some images...your avatar being one.
Warren...33 this morning dude. No drives in the northern Detroit area.

Tru,
Yes the pups will stay home while I am at the eye doctors this morning. They have to go in next Tuesday for their shots and I am already dreading that. I just don't like driving in the traffic at all any more.

GOOD MORNING VEITN....... I mean America!
Ron,
There was a story on the news last night that some clown is drilling for oil in his own backyard. I suppose in some places, Ok, but not with a shovel for crying out loud.

Back from the eye doctor and not to happy. I have cataracts in both eyes and they will require surgery in a year or so and as I have no Insurance and can't pay for it, I just have to make do the best I can. Good Lord, I can't believe what that surgery would cost. My house isn't even worth that much. So much for the great times of going many places I guess.

Joe,
I have did pretty well. this is the first time in 3 years that I had to have the lens in my glasses changed, but there is just nothing I can do about the surgery thing. Just enjoy the time I have left to see I guess as I don't have enough assets left to sell and cover it.

That really sucks. I suggest you move to Mexico, become a citizen and then cross the border illegally. You can get your surgery for free, get permanent residence, and get a monthly check to cover all your expenses. It is a really good program that keeps politicians from wasting money on lazy American citizens.

Joe,
That would be about the only way I could do it. I am looking at the paper right now and I see that our Governor has a plan to balance the budget. This is one small part of it.
Under his plan, an estimated 84,000 Seniors would lose help with daily chores like laundry, cleaning and bathing. Seniors and the blind and disabled would NOT receive a cost of living increase in their social security checks despite rising gas and food prices.
It went on to say the Governor has been very up front about this and that there are no easy deductions. But someone has to bite the bullet. Funny it seems to be the poor and disabled that have to do it. I really don't have any idea of how to start to turn this state or the country around, but just taking what little the poor have isn't going to do it.

Everyone one agrees that something/someone has to give, but no one wants to be that person. So the people who could really make a difference and not suffer (maybe give up some perks/extravagances) don't want to, so they fight it. Having more money, they can get their voices heard, and the poor are left with nothing again. What I kind of see happening is more people becoming self reliant as a necessity and forcing the really rich to do the same. When this happens, the factory work and benefits packages will improve again as the owners of the major corporations will be forced to do this just to stay in business. Unfortunately this means it has to get worse still yet for a long while as they do not want to give up their perks.
The company I work for keeps cutting our benefits even though we are bringing in more and more profits. We sponsor a Nascar Sprint Cup race, but can't get tickets, they all go to our customers. Meanwhile last year I read that our President got a $90K semi annual bonus. This is on top of his $300K salary and he also gets a new company car every year(currently a 2008 Lincoln Towncar). Simply by cutting the the new car to every other year (We actually buy the car outright and not lease it) and the bonus to $50K every 6 months, maybe I wouldn't have to pay for 10% of all medical bills now.

Joe,
I am not nor have never been an advocate of take from the wealthy and give to the poor. They earned their money and have a right to it. If I hadn't had that breakdown and had to take everything I had invested and saved to pay the medical bills after I lived, I would not be hurting for anything. But if I could have worked until I retired normally, I would have had more than I would ever need. But after having to empty all of my accounts and everything, I am happy that I had the money to pay those huge bills. I just can't afford them any more. I am better off than many people around here as I at least paid for everything I have in cash and don't have to worry about losing everything because I can't make the payments. And I paid a huge amount of taxes when I worked.
The woman that came out from the local Social Security office to talk to me several years ago told me that I had paid more taxes in the first four months of 1985 than her gross income was for the whole year. But that is ancient history and not relevant to anything now.
